The Rate And Process Of Mangrove Forest Expansion On Above- And Belowground Carbon Relations In Coastal Louisiana
Global climate change is a major environmental threat to natural and cultural resources in low-lying coastal zones and deltas worldwide. It is expected to have a significant effect on the development of coastal wetlands by changing species range expansion. In fact, recent studies have shown that there has been an increasing mangrove encroachment poleward in the Southern and Northern Hemispheres into temperate saltmarsh zones due to the lack of freeze events. This phenomenon could have a critical impact on the structure and function of tidal wetlands at critical latitudes, especially in carbon sequestration, since mangroves are thought to sequester more carbon than marshes due to their extensive roots, leaves, and branches. To understand this likely outcome of climate warming better, a study site was established in Port Fourchon, Louisiana, where mangroves are expanding into formerly saltmarsh-dominated habitat. The aim of this study was to estimate the rate and process of the conversion of marsh to mangrove and associated carbon sequestration of soils of historically saltmarsh or mangrove dominated cover in this locale. A chronosequence approach was used to compare carbon stores between mangrove and saltmarsh at different states of mangrove cover

The impact of social media influencers on Vietnamese consumer’s purchase intention in the online travel area
Over the years, most developing countries have witnessed a significant growth of influence marketing (De Bruyn and Lilien, 2008). The influencer marketing is increasingly becoming an integral part of most marketing strategies in the APAC region, especially in Vietnam. Therefore, social media influencer is recognised as an essential information source which may impact travel purchase decision for Vietnamese users. However, the question of how social media influencers can impact consumer decision making is still new and debatable under the changing of the technology and economy. Driven by various theories in current research, this study tests a conceptual framework which examines which factors of social media influencers impact Vietnamese consumer purchase intention, including three conceptual constructs – trust, perceived value, and perceived risk by asking the following research questions: “What are the factors of social media influencers that affect the attitude of Vietnamese consumers about the travel brands, their products and services? How do these factors influence the purchase intention of Vietnamese consumers?”. The study extends the previous literature on social media and social media influencer by identifying specific determinants that can impact the intention of purchasing. Then, it collected data through an online survey involving 275 respondents who are social media users in Vietnam. Results from data analysis revealed that all three conceptual foundations – trust, perceived value and perceived risk had a significant influential effect on consumer intention of buying in the travel area. The findings suggested social media influencers to be a promising marketing strategy for increasing sales in the online tourism industry. The marketers should work closely with social media influencers to increase the perceived value and reduce the perceived risk of the content in social media influencers’ channel. Moreover, the marketing strategists should strive to emphasise the usefulness of consumer trust on social media influencers as a determinant in the long-term influence marketing strategy
Teacher Professional Development in the Context of Education Reform in Vietnam: Policy and Practice
Teacher Professional Development (TPD) plays an important role in the Fundamental and Comprehensive Education Reform in Vietnam. The goal of this study is to describe the situation of TPD in the context of education reform in Vietnam: Describe both the reform policies and practice in school. This study emphasized that Vietnam has actively implemented education policies relating to TPD. Three-dimensional evaluation of TPD included: (i) Teaching plans and materials; (ii) Organization of learning activities; and (iii) Students’ activities. The research results showed a positive moderate to the high correlation between teaching plans and materials and organization of learning activities and Students’ activities. The research results showed an inverse correlation between the average teacher age and the Organization of learning activities. The older teachers tended to underestimate the extent of implementation of Organization of learning activities. This finding led to recommendations to provide older teacher groups with professional development activities

Autonomy Governance Transformation in the Higher Education Institutions Towards the Typical Models in Vietnam
Based on existing studies on university autonomy, particularly university autonomy in Vietnam, along with the examination of legal documents about the higher education system in Vietnam, and the findings from field surveys and surveys conducted on various higher education institution websites, this article aims to elucidate the autonomy model of higher education institutions. In doing so, it highlights the current state of autonomy in Vietnamese higher education. It identifies the dimensions missing from previous studies concerning university owners, both at the institutional and practical levels. The article outlines five major autonomy models for higher education institutions, which are formed by a system of mechanisms and policies in higher education. For each of these models, the research considers, analyzes, and evaluates the level of autonomy in terms of decision-making rights and self-responsibility across three fundamental areas of the university: organizational and personnel autonomy, academic autonomy, and autonomy in finance and facilities
