    Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan analisis wacana kritis model Van Dijk pada Stand Up Comedy Abdur di Channel YouTube Stand Up Kompas TV. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik analisis yang digunakan ialah analisis wacana kritis model Teun A. Van Dijk. Pengumpulan data menggunakan dua teknik yaitu teknik simak adalah penyediaan data yang dilakukan dengan menyimak video penggunaan bahasa pada Stand Up Abdur dan teknik catat dapat dilakukan dengan mencatat hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan data dalam sebuah Stand Up Abdur. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah channel youtube stand up Kompas TV. Adapun data yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini ialah stand up comedy Abdur dengan judul Indonesia seperti kapal tua. Hasil analisis yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah struktur mikro yang terdiri atas empat bagian pertama semantik yakni latar, detil, maksud, praanggapan dan nominalisasi, kedua sintaksis yakni bentuk kalimat koherensi dan kata ganti, ketiga stilistik elemen yang diamati leksikon dan keempat retoris yakni grafis dan metafora

    Analysis of Mechanisms for Sustainable Land Taxation in Lae City, Papua New Guinea

    Following severe criticisms against perceived inefficiency and unfairness of land taxation system in Papua New Guinea, this paper appraises four mechanisms used for land tax assessment and tax collection in the country. The mechanisms investigated as part of a larger study are validity of previous valuation roll, determination of unimproved land value, professional acceptability of the valuation methods used, and whether planning approval had been secured for the improvements on land. The study is based on a questionnaire survey of 150 respondents, including state land leaseholders and officials of the Lands Department at Lae Municipality and the City’s Internal Revenue Commission. The hypothesis tested yields a Chi-Square Test value of 8.872 and a Probability Value (P Value) of 0.75 (75%), which is statistically significant at 0.01 level. These findings indicate that the Lae City Municipality has 75% chances of becoming sustainable in the foreseeable future, particularly if the recommendations made are thoughtfully implemented

Furthermore, we take the analysis stage by involving the coding system, evaluation, data extract, in-depth interpretation, and drawing conclusions that are valid findings and high reliability because these findings have answered the questions and danced the hypothesis of this study. We depend on secondary data and descriptive qualitative study designs. Based on the discussion of the findings data, we can conclude that the HR governance strategy working in public service organizations is not only required for superior competence, technical skills, and mastery of the underlying laws and regulations, but they are state apparatuses that are even more crucial in shaping mental and behavioral professional, friendly in nurturing, honest, sympathetic, wise, intelligent, and highly responsible

    Assessing The Interference of Mother Tongue Towards Students’ Spoken English Ability at SMPN 39 SBT

    This research was conducted through descriptive qualitative research with the aim of the study are to find out kinds of phonological interference in the spoken English by students at SMPN 39 SBT and to describe factors which affecting the phonological interference in the spoken English by students at SMPN 39 SBT. The study taken a place in SMPN 39 SBT which located in desa Mida, Kec. Pulau Gorom. The subject of this study were eleven students of second grade at SMPN 39 SBT which spoken Bahasa Gorom as their mother tongue. The data were collected by using video recording, field not and interview. The researcher uses the content analysis which focuses on analyzing kinds of phonological interference by Uriel Weinrich, and the factors which affecting the phonological interference Rod Ellis. The result shown that there are 4 kinds of phonological interference found in the students’ utterances. Those are; 1). Under-differentiation of Phonemes. 2). Over-differentiation of Phonemes. 3). Reinterpretation of Distinction. 4). Actual Phone Substitution. The factors which include internal and external factors found in this study. They are;  a). Motivation. b).     Transcendence in immanence : a conversation with Jacques Derrida on space, time and meaning

    This study postulates the existence of a notion of transcendence in immanence in the thought of Jacques Derrida. The deconstruction of, amongst others, Husserlian phenomenology and Saussurean structuralism, affords Derrida the opportunity of presenting a thought of contamination, haunting and impurity, which is a thought of transcendence in immanence. The hypothesis of a notion of transcendence in immanence in Derrida’s thought is refined by specifying it as temporal transcendence in immanence. Accordingly, the intimation of transcendence in immanence does not amount to the ontological acceptance of a separate transcendent realm. On the contrary, what appears is a monism: the infinite finitude of temporality. In conversation with the notion of temporal transcendence in immanence intimated in Derrida’s thought, this study proposes a notion of theological transcendence in immanence. Theological transcendence in immanence is presented as an inflected interpretive performance of salient themes from the tradition of Christian theology prior to the advent of modernity. From this perspective, all being is referred to God and finite creation is deemed to be a contingent, non-necessary participation, at an unquantifiable analogical remove, in the life and being of God. The notions of space, time and meaning that emerge from such a premise are subsequently explored, and brought into conversation with the corresponding notions in Derrida’s work. The study concludes by asking whether the conversation between the notions of temporal and theological transcendence in immanence can in any way be furthered, or whether the two positions should rather be regarded as irreconcilable, that is, as lying separatively transcendent to each other. In response, it is suggested that the notion of transcendence in immanence implies the attempt to relate juxtaposed positions after the fashion of transcendence in immanence. The possibility of temporal transcendence in immanence inhabiting theological transcendence in immanence after the fashion of transcendence in immanence is firstly considered and rejected. Thereupon, the reverse option, namely that of theological transcendence in immanence making use of temporal transcendence in immanence, iii while at the same time transcending it, is considered and judged to be a suitable provisional outcome of the conversation with Derrida.Religious Studies and ArabicD.     D.Ed.The situation in education in Soweto in the 1980's was an important contributory factor to this study. Problems resulting from underachievement, early school drop-out and the consequent loss of manpower provision, are current and are often ascribed to inadequate achievement motivation. As part of the project "Learning motivation" which has been undertaken by the Education Faculty of the Rand Afrikaanse University, inter-disciplinary in approach and financially supported by HSRC, this study attempts to locate achievement motivation in the anthropological-pedagogic paradigm. Within the context of black education, it is particularly aimed at devising measuring instruments for the establishment of reliable and valid measures of achievement motivation for standards six, eight and ten pupils in Soweto. It also attempts to establish whether there is any tendency in the achievement motivation between these different standards and certain biographical information with the objective of setting up a possible guidance programme which would endeavour to strenghten the achievement motivation of these pupils. A number of theories on motivation, learning- and achievement motivation were studied. Direct and indirect measuring techniques to determine the level of achievement motivation were then considered. Eventually it was decided to include Viljoen's (1983) achievement motivation questionnaire (AMQ) and Hermans' (1972) "Prestatie Motivatie Test voor Kinderen" (PMT-K) in the questionnaire booklet. This booklet comprised the following tests: the Achievement Motivation Questionnaire (AMQ), the aspiration level test, the Prestatie Motivatie Test voor Kinderen (PMT-K), the Modernity Scale of Thompson (1977 & 1980) and questions to gather biographical data. The AMQ consists of eighty items of which eight indicate social desirability, while the rest indicate certain characteristics, as derived from the study of the literature, of the achievement motivated person. The PMT-K consists of four achievement motivation scales namely achievement motive, positive fear of failure, negative fear of failure and social desirability. These two questionnaires·are used in an attempt to determine the scholastic achievement motivation and fear of failure of standards six, eight and ten pupils in different secondary schools in Soweto (N = 778). A further in-depth study using the projective Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) of Baran (1971) was undertaken with a small group of standard six pupils, but the results of this investigation were not significant. Statistical calculations were applied to the data to determine the reliability and validity of the measures of the AMQ and PMT-K. Furthermore an attempt was made to determine whether there were any significant differences between the achievement motivation and fear of failure of standard six pupils and a number of biographical information. The results of the study led to the following conclusions: = the Achievement Motivation Questionnaire appears to be effective in determining the achievement motivation of standard six pupils in Soweto; = further research and refinement of the AMQ and PMT-K are necessary to develop possible reliable and valid measures of achievement motivation in standards eight and ten:= in-depth research is necessary with regard to the fear of failure as one of the components of the nomological network in which achievement motivation operates; it appears that significant differences exist in the achievement motivation of standard s.Lx pupils when some biographical aspects are considered. These differences should be taken into consideration in devising a guidance programme for these children
