Computational evaluation of nucelar reactors support elements
To ensure long-term reliability of power equipment and eventual prolongation of their lifetime it is necessary to evaluate the condition of individual components in terms of their residual

Identification of material properties of structural steels with the use of artifical intelligence
parametrů a s nimi spojené náklady.
tahové zkoušky a zkoušky lomové houževnatosti. Prezentované výsledky výzkumu a vývoje

and analysis of the components used in power engineering and in other disciplines of technical
practice. To identify these parameters, series of tests and measurements are commonly
executed. Presented paper describes how to significantly reduce the number of tests required
for the identification of these parameters with the use of artificial intelligence, namely the neural
network is used in this case. Together with the reduction of tests comes the reduction of costs
as well. The presented method is demonstrated on the example of the estimation of material
parameters of steels used in the critical components of steam turbines without the need to carry
out the tensile and fracture toughness tests. Presented result s of research and development were

Creep damage computations of steam turbine bolting
Vzhledem k (i) nelineární závislosti rychlosti
creepu na teplotním a mechanickém zatížení, (ii) nejistotám v modelu popisujícím creep a (iii)
nejistotám v zatížení svorníků bylo nutné provést více výpočtů s různými variantami zatížení
svorníku a nastavení modelů materiálů svorníku a turbíny.
Bolts that compress together upper and lower parts of steam turbines are exposed to significant mechanical and thermal loadings. Their elongation due to creep deformation may lead to
steam leakage in the turbine separating plane. In this paper, we present results of simulations
of creep of bolts. The length of the bolts was 840 mm and the diameter of the shank was 125
mm, bolts are made either from 1.4913+QT martensitic steel or from Inconel 718 nickel alloy.
Computational models of the bolt–turbine assembly are one-dimensional. The goal of the study
was to propose the safe use/reuse of the bolts with respect to the turbine’s tightness and their
elongation. The bolts were assumed to be (i) connected to the turbine made of P91 steel, (ii)
preloaded up to 70 % of their respective yield strength, (iii) exposed to temperatures 480–490 °C and loaded by an external force, e.g., due to the steam pressure, this force acts simultaneously with the force exerted by the turbine’s clamping resistance. Due to (i) nonlinear dependency of creep rate on temperature and mechanical loading, (ii) uncertainties of the creep model
and (iii) uncertainties in the loadings, it was necessary to run several simulations with different
material models and loading scenarios. The results are as follows: the deformation of Inconel
718 bolts is negligible, martensite bolts should ensure tightness in separating plane for at least
40 thousand hours of operation and it may be reused at least 3 times
Spatial coefficient of variation of arterial spin labeling MRI as a cerebrovascular correlate of carotid occlusive disease
Clinical interpretation of arterial spin labeling (ASL) perfusion MRI in cerebrovascular disease remains challenging mainly because of the method’s sensitivity to concomitant contributions from both intravascular and tissue compartments. While acquisition of multi-delay images can differentiate between the two contributions, the prolonged acquisition is prone to artifacts and not practical for clinical applications. Here, the utility of the spatial coefficient of variation (sCoV) of a single-delay ASL image as a marker of the intravascular contribution was evaluated by testing the hypothesis that sCoV can detect the effects of differences in label arrival times between ipsi- and contra-lateral hemispheres even in the absence of a hemispheric difference in CBF. Hemispheric lateralization values for sCoV and CBF were computed from ASL images acquired on 28 patients (age 73.9 ± 10.2 years, 8 women) with asymptomatic unilateral carotid occlusion. The results showed that sCoV lateralization predicted the occluded side with 96.4% sensitivity, missing only 1 patient. In contrast, the sensitivity of the CBF lateralization was 71.4%, with 8 patients showing no difference in CBF between hemispheres. The findings demonstrate the potential clinical utility of sCoV as a cerebrovascular correlate of large vessel disease. Using sCoV in tandem with CBF, vascular information can be obtained in image processing without the need for additional scan-time
2D Germanane-MXene Heterostructures for Cations Intercalation in Energy Storage Applications
Heterostructures offer an exceptional possibility of combining individual 2D
materials into a new material having altered properties compared to the
parent materials. Germanane (GeH) is a 2D material with many favorable
properties for energy storage and catalysis, however, its performance is
hindered by its low electrical conductivity. To address the low electrochemical
performance of GeH, a heterostructure of GeH and Ti3C2Tx is fabricated. The
Ti3C2TX is a layered material belonging to the family of MXenes. The resulting
heterostructure (GeMXene) at a defined mass ratio of GeH and Ti3C2Tx shows
superior capacitive performance that surpasses that of both pristine
materials. The effect of the size of cations and anions for intercalation into
GeMXene in different aqueous salt solutions is studied. GeMXene allows only
cation intercalation, which is evidenced by the gravimetric electrochemical
quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) technique. The capacitive performance of
the GeMXene is compared in neutral, acidic, and alkaline electrolytes to
determine the best electrochemical performance. This unleashes the potential
use of GeMXene heterostructure in different electrolytes for supercapacitors
and batteries. This work will pave the way to explore the heterostructures of
other 2D materials such as novel MXenes and functionalized germanane for
highly energy-storage efficient systems, and beyond.Web of Science34
