    Kemampuan penyesuaian sosial mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi amatlah penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan adanya peningkatan penyesuaian sosial di perguruan tinggi pada mahasiswa setelah diberikan bimbingan pribadi sosial. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa program studi International Program on Science Education (IPSE) UPI angkatan 2015 dan 2016 dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dan analisis data menggunakan t-test. Pengumpulan data melalui angket penyesuaian sosial di perguruan tinggi dengan menggunakan skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bimbingan pribadi sosial dapat meningkatkan penyesuaian sosial pada mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi menggunakan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik sosiodrama, simulasi, dan experience. UPT BK UPI diharapkan dapat berkolaborasi dengan ketua prodi dan dosen pembimbing akademik untuk memfasilitasi mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan penyesuaian sosial di perguruan tinggi.----- Social adjustment skill in college is important for students. This study aims to describe the improvement of students’ social adjustment skills in college after receiving personal-social guidance. The participants in this study are International Program on Science Education (IPSE) department’s student class 2015 and 2016 selected by using random sampling technique. A quantitative approach with the t-test method is employed in this study. The data were collected by using a social adjustment questionnaire with four-level Likert scale. The findings demonstrate that personal-social guidance can increase the students’ social adjustment skill by employing group counseling in the form of socio-drama, simulation, and experience technique. UPT BK UPI is expected to collaborate with Head of IPSE and Student Adviser on facilitating the students to increase their social adjustment in college

    Pengembangan Penyesuaian Sosial Mahasiswa melalui Bimbingan Pribadi dan Sosial

    The study aims to find out the improvement of social adjustment in university on International Studies on Science Education (IPSE) student of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) after being given social personal guidance. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of experimental research. Subjects in this study were 44 students taken with random sampling technique. The data collection tool in this study used a scale of social adjustment in college. The data analysis in this study uses t-test. The results showed that personal social guidance can improve social adjustment in college students by using sociodrama, simulation, and experience techniques. This study presents an alternative strategy for academic advisors in universities to facilitate students in developing social adjustment skills in universities

    Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penyesuaian diri bagi anak berbakat akademik. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran umum penyesuaian diri anak berbakat akademik, memperoleh gambaran kondisi objektif pelaksanaan bimbingan pribadi sosial untuk anak berbakat akademik di kelas akselerasi, dan menghasilkan program bimbingan pribadi sosial untuk meningkatkan penyesuaian diri anak berbakat akademik di kelas akselerasi SMAN 3 Bandung. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan pendekatan kualitatif. Analisis data menggunakan statistika deskriptif analisis yaitu untuk mengumpulkan data gambaran penyesuaian diri anak berbakat akademik serta data-data yang mendukung dalam penyusunan program pribadi sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) anak berbakat akademik cukup mampu dalam hal penyesuaian diri; (2) gambaran kondisi objektif pelaksanaan bimbingan pribadi sosial untuk anak berbakat akademik di kelas akselerasi; dan (3) program hipotetik bimbingan pribadi sosial untuk meningkatkan penyesuaian diri anak berbakat akademik di kelas akselerasi SMAN 3 Bandung. Konselor diharapkan mampu melaksanakan program bimbingan pribadi sosial untuk meningkatkan penyesuaian diri anak berbakat akademik. Kata kunci: bimbingan pribadi sosial, penyesuaian diri, anak berbakat akademik. The research is motivated by the importance of self-adjustment for academically gifted children. The aims of this research are to gain a general overview of self-adjustment of academically gifted children, to get a picture of the condition of the objective of implementing personal-social counseling program for academically gifted children in acceleration classroom, and to produce a personal-social counseling program to improve the self-adjustment of academically gifted children in acceleration classroom of SMAN 3 Bandung. This research employed quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data analysis used a descriptive statistics analysis, which is to gather the data of self-adjustment of academically gifted children as well as the data that supports in arranging personal-social counseling program. The results showed: (1) academically gifted children are quite capable in terms of self-adjustment, (2) the picture of condition of the objective of implementing personal-social counseling program for academically gifted children in classroom academic acceleration, and (3) a hypothetical personal-social counseling program to improve self-adjustment of academically gifted children in acceleration classroom of SMAN 3 Bandung. Counselors are expected to be able to perform personal-social counseling program to enhance self-adjustment of academically gifted children.
