    Male and Female Students\u27 Perceptions Toward the Implementation of Video Conference as a Distance Learning Media That Enhances Teachers\u27 Productivities

    This paper reports the implementation of video conference as a distance learning media that enhances teachers\u27 productivities in teaching English in a state high school in Tasikmalaya, West Java. To give much greater size sample, this study took two sample classes with the overall fifty-six students participated in this study by using cluster sampling technique. This study employed a qualitative research design focusing on the survey study method. A self-administration of twenty questionnaires provided to identify the distinctions perceptions between male and female students thought. A depth information appear to be as important to gain more in-depth information and continuous responses to explore the advantages and its disadvantages of video conferencing that have been undertaken by interviewing the students. The findings revealed that despite some limitation, the teaching and learning process with video conferencing was successful, then male students appear more favorably and react positively compared to female students. By having more positive responses, video conferencing proven to enhance teachers\u27 productivities. More significantly, students argue on its advantages and disadvantages of video conferencing that was undertaken by interview. The advantages of video conference such as video conference could connect between teachers and students wherever they are, video conference alow them to access lessons with teachers separately, video conference motivated, video conference enhances teachers\u27 role, responsibility, creativity, and students\u27 insights and learning experiences using new learning systems. Besides, video conference also has weaknesses or disadvantages when it is applied such as interactions limits, unstable internet connections, unclear sounds, video delay, and background noises. This can be noted that today learning and teaching process can benefit from using video conference as a distance learning media that teachers can used to improve their productivity, as well as substitution for teachers\u27 absences in the classroom, so that learning can be done, and teacher productivity maintained wherever they are

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh orientasi tujuan dan persepsi siswa pada kompetensi guru terhadap prokrastinasi akademik. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan subjek 132 siswa SMA Kristen Cita Hati Surabaya yang dipilih melalui teknik proportionate stratified random sampling. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner skala orientasi tujuan, persepsi siswa pada kompetensi pedagogik guru, dan prokrastinasi akademik siswa Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi berganda. Hasil analisis regresi ganda melalui program IBM SPSS 23 menunjukkan Fhitung sebesar 1.492 dan p=.299 (p>.05) yang menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara orientasi tujuan dan persepsi siswa pada kompetensi guru terhadap prokrastinasi akademik siswa

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa calon guru IPA tingkat pertama ditinjau dari latar belakang pendidikannya, yaitu SMA dan SMK. Metode deskriptif kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan melibatkan 37 mahasiswa calon guru IPA tingkat pertama sebagai sampel yang dipilih secara random. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan terdiri dari 20 soal literasi sains yang mengukur domain literasi sains, yaitu pengetahuan sains dan kompetensi sains yang dibangkai dengan konteks tertentu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Skor rata-rata literasi sains mahasiswa calon guru IPA berlatar belakang pendidikan SMA pada literasi sains secara keseluruhan dan setiap domain literasi sains lebih besar daripada mahasiswa calon guru IPA berlatar belakang SMK, 2) Secara umum, literasi sains mahasiswa calon guru IPA tingkat pertama berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa calon guru IPA ditinaju dari latar belakang pendidikanya perlu ditingkatkan melalui berbagai kegiatan perkuliahan yang mengarah pada literasi sain

    The objective of this research was to describethe 8th grade students's thinking process of SMP Negeri 25 Surakarta. The subjects were students of 8th E who has an extrovert and introvert personality. The thinking process was the thought process of assimilation and accommodation in solving mathematical problems based on the type of Krulik and Rudnick on a straight-line equation. The technique of data collection that used was snowball-sampling which the subject stopped when data saturation. Obtained three extrovert students and three introvert students. The validation of data was carried out with time triangulation. The result of research showed that the thinking process of extrovert students in solving mathematical problems based on the type of Krulik and Rudnick step was as follows 1) In read and think step, the used of thinking process was assimilation; 2) In explore and plan step, the used of thinking process was imperfect assimilation; 3) In select a strategy step, the used of thinking process was imperfect assimilation; 4) In find an answer step, the used of thinking process was imperfect assimilation; 5) In reflect and extend step, the used of thinking process was accommodation.     Pemodelan Markov Switching Vector Autoregressive (Msvar)

    Economic and financial variables are variables that are fluctuated because of regime switching as a result of political and economical conditions. Linear modeling can not capture the regime switching, so it is better to use Markov Switching Vector Autoregressive Models (MSVAR). MSVAR is a combination of vector autoregressive models and hidden markov models. Daily return of Rupiah buying rate against the USD and Euro are economic variables that are fluctuated and they can explain economic condition of a country. The best model of five order iteration is MS (2) - VAR (4) with the smallest AIC value, that is -1460.48. Maximum Likelihood Estimation is a method to get parameters estimation. With 73 data, the return rates has transition probability 0.08 from crisis to normal state, while the transisition probablity of the opposite condition is 0.6. Expected value being at normal state is 13.10 days and being at crisis state is 1,68 days

    Central Java and East Java is separated by the Bengawan Solo River. To support the activities of transportation which across Central Java and East Java, was Bengawan Solo Bridge built on the road Cepu -Padangan on Blora KM SMG 160.09. Bengawan Solo Bridge consists of two bridges, Bengawan Solo Baru Bridge and Bengawan Solo Lama Bridge. Since 1994, only Bengawan Solo Baru Bridge which operated, while Bengawan Solo Lama Bridge had no function anymore because the condition is not feasible. Along with the growth and movement patterns of traffic, it was found that in certain conditions, especially during peak hours, often seen queues of vehicles will cross the Bengawan Solo Baru Bridge. This is based on the value of Degree of Saturation (DS) Bengawan Solo Baru Bridge is 0.78 (> 0.75), which indicates the traffic condition is already unstable. Therefore, operating Bengawan Solo Lama Bridge again can be a solution to the congestion and potential overload that occurs. However, to realize that, Bengawan Solo Lama Bridge needs to be redesigned considering exsisting condition is not feasible and the age of the bridge is already very old. As the technical and aesthetic considerations, Bengawan Solo Lama Bridge is designed by considering the condition of Bengawan Solo Baru bridge so that the Bengawan Solo Lama Bridge is planned use steel structures for the upper structure and reinforced concrete structures for bottom structure. After that, Bengawan Solo Lama Bridge is designed to serve traffic from Cepu to Padangan with the type of road 2/1 UD (two-lane one-way) which has a width of 6 meters and width of sidewalks 2 x 1 meter. The planning of traffic aspects use a life design for 25 years with the traffic growth by 2,472% per year. Implementation of Construction is at a cost of 33.4 billion.
