Positive Deviance pada Status Gizi Balita

Background: Positive Deviance (PD) is a ‘power' based approach having a belief that in each community there are certain individuals as the actors of ‘positive deviance' that own specific habit and behavior. They might find out better ways to prevent nutritional deficiency compared to their surroundings that possess the same resource and face the same risk as well. Objective: To find out PD behavior in poor family towards under-five children's nutritional status in Astanajapura Health Center working area of Cirebon District.Method: The study used a case control study design and in-depth interview. Subjects were under-five children 6-59 months of age. Data collection used a questioner and interview. Data analysis used univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis with logistic regression to determine OR and 95% CI of the effect of PD behavior towards under-five good nutritional status.Result: Under-five good nutritional status was significantly related to PDbehavior (OR=7.43; 95% CI=1.89–29.17). The other factors affecting under-five good nutritional status were maternal education (OR=6.63; 95%CI=1.63–23.90) and under-five age (OR=4.05; 95% CI=1.16–14.10).Conclusion: Under-five good nutritional status had a significant relationship with PD behavior

Background: Health education is all activities that enhance knowledge, attitude, good practice of individuals, groups or communities, in maintaining and improving their own health. Health education may be more effective in improving knowledge and attitude of pregnant women if delivered with suitable media. This study aimed to analyze the effects of health education with media assistance to knowledge and attitudes about health in pregnant women. Subjects and Method: This study was a randomized controlled trial carried out at Kalijaga community health center, Cirebon City, West Java. A sample of 30 pregnant women was divided into 3 groups by randomization: (1) 10 pregnant women who received health education about pregnancy using flipchart, (2) 10 pregnant women who received health education about pregnancy using multimedia, and (3) 10 pregnant women who received health education about pregnancy using music box. Data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis to test the differences between the three groups, followed by the Mann Whitney to test group pairs. Results: The knowledge scores in the multimedia group and the music box group were higher than the flipchart group, with p= 0.001. Attitude score on the multimedia group and music box group was higher than flipchart group, with p= 0.023. The score of knowledge in the multimedia group was about equal to the music box group, with p= 0.342. Attitude score on the multimedia group was about equal to the music box group, with p= 0.517. Conclusion: Health education using multimedia or music box is more effective than a flipchart to improve knowledge and attitudes about the health of pregnant women. Health education using multimedia or music box shows comparable effectiveness. Keywords: health education, knowledge, attitude, multimedia, music box, flipchart, pregnant wome

Investigation of Drop Formation by a Vortex Ring in Microgravity

    Get PDF
An investigation of drop formation by a vortex ring propagating through one or more fluid interfaces in microgravity is described. The main goal of the research is to determine the dynamics of drop formation by vortical flows in the capillary limit with large density change across the intel-face. Dimensional analysis shows that in microgravity experiments the capillary limit can be studied using a relatively large vortex ring diameter to facilitate experimental characterization of the interaction. Results obtained in density matched systems are reviewed to illustrate the complex nature of these interactions

The Application of Spatial Analysis and TIME Series in Modeling the Frequency of Earthquake Events in Bengkulu Province

This study provides an overview in combining spatial analysis and time series analysis to model the frequency of earthquake. The aim of this research is to apply the spatial statistical analysis and time series analysis in estimating semivariogram parameters for the next four steps. The data in this study is secondary data that has been validated based on sources that publish parameters of earthquake events. Looking at the characteristics of the earthquake frequency frequency data, there are spatial and time elements. The method used in this research is interpolation kriging and Autoregressive Moving Average (ARMA) model. The semivariogram models used in kriging interpolation are: Spherical, Exponential, Gaussian, and Linear. The parameters of the semivariogram model are modeled using ARMA time series analysis adjusted to the model diagnostic results. To measure of fit model is used Mean Square Error (MSE). The result of research is a suitable semivariogram model to be applied in the modeling of earthquake events is the Spherical model. While each parameter is estimated using ARMA model (2,2) with different coefficient estimation value
