In this graduation thesis has made an assessment of rental one bedroom apartments in relation to different distance from Ljubljana. Analyzed are freely formed rent one bedroom apartment on the route Ljubljana - Vrhnika - Logatec and the cost of driving to work in Ljubljana. The calculation of transport costs were taken into account as a means of transport by train, bus, car and bicycle. We wanted to know whether the differences in the average rent in the discussed locations go beyond the individual cost of driving to work, or at what distance from Ljubljana would rational renter has rented a one bedroom apartment. With the help of the basic descriptive statistics, we analyzed the obtained data and compared it. Based on the analysis, we found that the present pattern of differences in average rents do not exceed individual costs driving to work for the busy pair. This means that the student pair is most profitable to rent an apartment in the municipality of Logatec if the means of transport chose bus or train. If they choose the car fot the means of transport turns out that one bedroom apartment with transport costs in the municipality of Ljubljana - Part Vic is cheaper compared to renting apartment with transport costs in the municipality of Logatec. For the busy pair is the best rent a one-bedroom apartment in the municipality of Ljubljana - Part Vič, as the transport costs in other areas considered higher than the difference in rents

This paper explores themes from the management of the public sector, which is increasingly connected to the models and thinking of the private sector. This is also true for primary schools. The results of quality assessment in primary schools from six European countries are represented in this paper. They show that quite substantial differences exist between countries in most quality elements, and that the final level of quality assessed depends not only on the resulting elementsā€™ grades but also on their importance/weight. We find out that Slovenian grades are pretty good, but there are still the areasā€“ e.g. educational programs ā€“ that have to be improved in the future.Članek posega na področje managementa v javnem sektorju, ki vse bolj ā€“ med drugim tudi na področju osnovnega Å”olstva ā€“ sledi pristopom in razmiÅ”ljanju zasebnega sektorja.

A New Method for Data Analysis in Studies of Trace Metal Complexation

    Get PDF
A new method for correction of the asymptote at high additions of trace metal during titration was developed for the van den Berg- Ružić plot. Using this method, a more accurate value for complex- ing capacity can be obtained from titration data. The accuracy of this parameter is a limiting factor for detailed studies of trace metal complexation in natural waters. In addition, a sequential analysis of the shape of titration curves is proposed, by which more than two different groups of complexes can be identified in the case of a large ratio between the complexing capacity and trace metal concentration originally present in the water sample. These procedures are illustrated by the analysis of synthetic titration curves for two and three groups of different complexes. The complexation parameters were reproduced with satisfactory accuracy in both cases. Simultaneous use of both the van den Berg-Ružić and Scatchard plots is suggested in order to test the agreement between the experimental titration data and theoretical predictions based on the complexation parameters determined

    Neanderthal diet

The purpose of this thesis is a synthesis of research in the field of Neanderthal diet. The view of the subject has changed greatly throughout history. The original researchers tried to find out the way Neanderthals ate, mainly by analyzing animal remains from individual sites. Based on this, they were described mainly as hunters of large mammals or as scavengers. With the development of new methods such as stable isotope analysis, paleonatropology, molecular biology, tartar analysis and tooth wear, there have also been findings that Neanderthals also used other food sources, e.g. plant. The general conclusion of recent research, however, remains that Neanderthals were primarily hunters that hunted large mammals, but they were also very adaptable and also exploited other food resources available to them in a particular environment

Automatic detection of pronation and supination of runners using computer vision

    Get PDF
Running is a popular form of recreation. Running clubs and shops commonly provide services related to video analysis of running. The most usual service is determining pronation type of a runner. The normal method is measuring the eversion angle of an ankle, usually measured manually from a backside video of a runner on a treadmill. Therefore, there is a need to develop applications for automatic analysis of running gait. In this thesis we have developed methods for automatic measurement of the eversion angle of an ankle of runners on a treadmill, which automatically measure the angle and the type of pronation. Tested on a group of 15 runners, these methods produced reasonably accurate result for roughly determining the pronation type. However they are not accurate enough for wider commercial use and for research in sports. We propose some guidelines and improvements for further work to minimise the shortcomings and enable efficient use in applications for general use and in research

This article presents a new, original application of modern information and communication technology to provide effective real-time dissemination of air quality information and related health risks to the general public. Our on-line subsystem for urban real-time air quality monitoring is a crucial component of a more comprehensive integrated information system, which has been developed by the Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health. It relies on a StreamInsight data stream management system and service-oriented architecture to process data streamed from seven monitoring stations across Zagreb. Parameters that are monitored include gases (NO, NO2, CO, O3, H2S, SO2, benzene, NH3), particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5), and meteorological data (wind speed and direction, temperature and pressure). Streamed data are processed in real-time using complex continuous queries. They first go through automated validation, then hourly air quality index is calculated for every station, and a report sent to the Croatian Environment Agency. If the parameter values exceed the corresponding regulation limits for three consecutive hours, the web service generates an alert for population groups at risk. Coupled with the Common Air Quality Index model, our web application brings air pollution information closer to the general population and raises awareness about environmental and health issues. Soon we intend to expand the service to a mobile application that is being developed.U ovom se članku predstavlja nova, originalna primjena suvremene informacijske i komunikacijske tehnologije radi učinkovitoga izvjeŔćivanja opće populacije o kvaliteti zraka i s njom povezanih zdravstvenih rizika. Prate se sljedeći parametri: NO, NO2, CO, O3, H2S, SO2, benzen, NH3, čestice u zraku (PM10 i PM2.5), brzina i smjer vjetra, temperatura i tlak zraka.
