Active power losses distribution methods for the modular multilevel converter

    Get PDF
Modular Converters such as the MMC have become the new standard in VSC-HVDC applications. Their modularity has brought many industrial advantages but also increased the complexity of their operation. This paper looks at how a range of techniques may alter the balance of power losses between the IGBT modules. These techniques are based on circulating currents at the (i) fundamental frequency and (ii) second harmonic and (iii) DC voltage offset on the converter voltage waveform. Finally, conclusions on the effectiveness and potential drawbacks of these techniques are discussed

Treatment of Electrical Storm with Amiodarone in Brugada Syndrome- an Unexpected Protective Effect

We are reporting on a 53 year old man with proven Brugada syndrome and ICD implantation for resuscitation in context of polymorphic VT. After recurrent arrhythmia he was treated with Amiodarone. This showed to have a protective effect despite various reports suggesting avoiding Amiodarone in Brugada syndrome

Using the continuum hypothesis, Sierpinski constructed a non-measurable function f such that {h : f( x + h) not equal f(x - h)} is countable for every x: Clearly, such a function is symmetrically approximately continuous everywhere. Here we to show that Sierpinski's example cannot be constructed in ZFC. Moreover, we show it is consistent with ZFC that if a function is symmetrically approximately continuous almost everywhere, then it is measurable

This research aims at constructing an ideal learning model of bilingual class through immersion program. The objects of the research are students, parents, teachers, and the principal of SMPN 1 Bantul. Through several field observations, it is found that although the teachers of bilingual class have got several annual trainings, they still have major problems in managing the bilingual class. They are too preoccupied with the language of the instructions, and this makes the students less active since the learning process doesn’t run smoothly. After conducting a careful data analysis, it is obtained that this problem can be solved by constructing a model of training that can upgrade teachers’ ability of managing classroom learning process and motivate students to participate actively in classroom activities. This research study is aimed at exploring the relationship between touching ball, agility, and touching ball and agility, and the ability in playing table tennis. The research method used in this study was the correlation method. The population in this research involved 32 students of Physical Health and Recreation Education Study Program of Faculty of Sport Science, Yogyakarta State University who took the table tennis subject in the academic year of 2004/2005. The data were collected through tests and measurements, while data analysis were performed through regression and correlation techniques. The results of this research show that: first, there was a positive correlation between touching ball and the ability of playing table tennis, with r = 0.627 and r2 = 0.393 and there was a regression formula Y = 98.15 + 1.431 X1; second, there was a positive correlation between agility and the ablity of playing table tennis, with r = 0.627 and r2 = 0.393 and there was a regression formula Y = 90.804 + 1.671 X2; third, there was a positive correlation between touching ball and agility together with the ability of playing table tennis with R = 0.627 and R2 = 0.394 and there was a regression formula Y = 97.185 + 1.288 X1 + 0.174 X2

Design and Development of a Class EF2 Inverter and Rectifier for Multi-megahertz Wireless Power Transfer Systems

    Get PDF
This paper presents the design and implementation of a Class EF2 inverter and Class EF2 rectifier for two -W wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, one operating at 6.78 MHz and the other at 27.12 MHz. It will be shown that the Class EF2 circuits can be designed to have beneficial features for WPT applications such as reduced second-harmonic component and lower total harmonic distortion, higher power-output capability, reduction in magnetic core requirements and operation at higher frequencies in rectification compared to other circuit topologies. A model will first be presented to analyze the circuits and to derive values of its components to achieve optimum switching operation. Additional analysis regarding harmonic content, magnetic core requirements and open-circuit protection will also be performed. The design and implementation process of the two Class-EF2-based WPT systems will be discussed and compared to an equivalent Class-E-based WPT system. Experimental results will be provided to confirm validity of the analysis. A dc-dc efficiency of 75% was achieved with Class-EF2-based systems
