    2GHz MIMO channel model from experimental outdoor data analysis in UMTS

    The key objective of this work was to obtain a MIMO model for a line of sight (LOS) channel component as well as the covariance matrix for a non-LOS deployment. A maximum likelihood criteria is applied to obtain a LOS spatial signature vector and a NLOS covariance matrix derived from channel measurements taken in the 2 GHz UMTS spectrum for an urban deployment in Bristol (UK). Different user equipment deployments were considered to represent both LOS and NLOS, as well as static and dynamic (motion) situations. The parameters of interest were estimated from these data and the fitness model was satisfactorily evaluated in all cases.     Energy profiling of FPGA-based PHY-layer building blocks encountered in modern wireless communication systems

    Proceeding at: IEEE 8th Sensor Array and Multichannel Signal Processing Workshop (SAM), took place 2014, Jun, 22-25 in Coruña (españa). The event web site of http://www.gtec.udc.es/sam2014/ .Characterizing the energy cost of different physical (PHY) layer building blocks is becoming increasingly important in modern cellular-based communications, considering the cross sector requirements for performance enhancements and energy savings. This paper presents energy profiling metrics of different PHY-layer FPGA implementations encountered in modern wireless communication systems.     Gaussian two-way relay channel with arbitrary inputs

    A two-way relay channel with independent parallel Gaussian channels between the relay and the two terminals is considered. Focusing on the decode-and-forward protocol, the second phase of the communication, in which the relay broadcasts the two messages to their respective receivers, is studied. Precisely, the problem of computing the power allocation among the parallel channels that maximizes the weighted sum rate assuming arbitrarily distributed channel inputs (such as m-QAM) is stated and shown to be convex. A numerical algorithm is provided to solve the problem for the general case and, for the particular cases of high and low power regimes, expressions for the optimal power allocation are derived in closed form. ©2010 IEEE
