    A new technique of Mueller-matrix mapping of polycrystalline structure of histological sections of biological tissues is suggested. The algorithms of reconstruction of distribution of parameters of linear and circular dichroism of histological sections liver tissue of mice with different degrees of severity of diabetes are found. The interconnections between such distributions and parameters of linear and circular dichroism of liver of mice tissue histological sections are defined. The comparative investigations of coordinate distributions of parameters of amplitude anisotropy formed by Liver tissue with varying severity of diabetes (10 days and 24 days) are performed. The values and ranges of change of the statistical (moments of the 1st – 4th order) parameters of coordinate distributions of the value of linear and circular dichroism are defined. The objective criteria of cause of the degree of severity of the diabetes differentiation are determined

    Scale-selective polarimetry of the birefringence distribution of myocardium tissue

    In the approximation of weak phase fluctuations, a polarization-correlation method for diagnosing the optical anisotropy of small-scale optically anisotropic fibrillar structures of myocardial tissues is proposed.The algorithms of analytical description and experimental determination of the coordinate distributions of the value of the modulus and phase of "two-point" Stokes vector parameters are defined. Within the statistic, correlation and fractal analysis the possibility of differential diagnostics of slight changes in optical anisotropy of myocardial tissues of different pathological states. The comparative analysis of objective statistical, correlation and fractal analysis of distributions of "single-point" polarization azimuth and ellipticity and "two-point" Stokes vector parameters of polarization-inhomogeneous images of the studied histological sections demonstrated excellent accuracy ( Ac f 90% ) of differential diagnostics of changes in the optical anisotropy myocardium tissues

    Резюме. Беручи до уваги факт щорічного зростання постановки питань судово-слідчими органами стосовно діагностики давності настання смерті та необхідності збільшення їх достовірності, певну суб’єктивність, моральну й історичну застарілість зазвичай використовуваних у судово-медичній практиці методик, назріла необхідність розробки об’єктивних економічно вигідніших сучасних методів дослідження динаміки післясмертної зміни біологічних тканин організму людини. Визначення давності настання смерті при різних її видах увесь час перебуває в авангарді питань судово-медичної науки та практики як одне з найважливіших для правоохоронних органів. Дана робота висвітлює результати застосування новітніх методів лазерної поляриметрії для розв’язання цього питання, а саме встановлення давності настання смерті при механічній асфіксії та масивній крововтраті шляхом тривимірної реконструкції часової та спектральної змін деполяризації лазерного випромінювання, розсіяного тканиною мозку людини.Summary. Taking into consideration the fact of the annual increase in the formulation of questions by the judicial authorities regarding the diagnosis of the prescription of death time and the need to increase their reliability, same as certain subjectivity of the moral and historical obsoleteness of the commonly used methods of forensic medicine practice, there is the need of developing of objective, cost effectively more profitable, modern methods of the investigation of the dynamics of post-mortem changes of biological tissues of the human body. Therefore, the determining the prescription of the time of death due to its different reasons is one of the most important issues of forensic science and practice. The paper deals with the results of the application of the latest methods of laser polarimetry used in forensic medicine, such as determination of the prescription of time of death due to mechanical asphyxia and massive blood loss by means of three-dimensional reconstruction of the time and spectral changes in the depolarization of laser radiation scattered by the human brain tissue

    Spatial-Frequency Azimuthally Stable Cartography of Biological Polycrystalline Networks

    A new azimuthally stable polarimetric technique processing microscopic images of optically anisotropic structures of biological tissues histological sections is proposed. It has been used as a generalized model of phase anisotropy definition of biological tissues by using superposition of Mueller matrices of linear birefringence and optical activity. The matrix element M44 has been chosen as the main information parameter, whose value is independent of the rotation angle of both sample and probing beam polarization plane. For the first time, the technique of concerted spatial-frequency filtration has been used in order to separate the manifestation of linear birefringence and optical activity. Thereupon, the method of azimuthally stable spatial-frequency cartography of biological tissues histological sections has been elaborated. As the analyzing tool, complex statistic, correlation, and fractal analysis of coordinate distributions of M44 element has been performed. The possibility of using the biopsy of the uterine wall tissue in order to differentiate benign (fibromyoma) and malignant (adenocarcinoma) conditions has been estimated
