Beyond Food Deserts: Measuring and Mapping Racial Disparities in Neighborhood Food Environments
Given the emerging focus on improving food environments and food systems through planning, this article investigates racial disparities in neighborhood food environments. An empirical case of Erie County, New York tests the hypothesis that people belonging to different racial groups have access to different neighborhood food destinations. Using multiple methods—Gini coefficients and Poisson regression—we show that contrary to studies elsewhere in the country there are no food deserts in Erie County. However, like other studies, we find an absence of supermarkets in neighborhoods of color when compared to white neighborhoods. Nonetheless, our study reveals an extensive network of small grocery stores in neighborhoods of color. Rather than soliciting supermarkets, supporting small, high-quality grocery stores may be a more efficient strategy for ensuring access to healthful foods in minority neighborhoods
Food Environment, Built Environment, and Women\u27s BMI: Evidence from Erie County, New York
The authors present the results of a neighborhood-scaled exploratory study that tests the association of the food environment and the built environment with women’s body mass index (BMI) in Erie County, New York. The proximity of women’s homes to a supermarket relative to a convenience store is associated with lower BMI. A diverse land use mix in a neighborhood is positively associated with women’s BMI, especially when restaurants dominate nonresidential land use. The article offers suggestions for how food environments may be improved using planning strategies

Constraint’s Analysis of Sugarcane Cultivation in Sant Kabir Nagar District
The study was conducted using multistage stratified, purposive cum random sampling procedure and hundred respondents were selected from a block of district. Primary data was collected through personal interview technique and required secondary information for the reference was taken from the records available at district and block offices. Simple tabular, functional analysis using Garrett ranking method was used to cook the inferences. As per the results found and seen from the analysis, lack of technical knowledge was found as the first rank followed by labor constraints in peak time at the second position. Seeds unavailability at the third rank and irrigation facility and unavailability of finance facility were found at fourth and fifth ranks respectively. Rest all problems were found afterwards.
Herbal Technology: An Emerging Approach for Treatment of Colon Cancer
Conventionally used drug for a treatment of life-threatening disease like cancer gives lighter therapeutic response along with high rate of adverse effects on normal cells, leading to insufficient activity over the tumor cells. These side effects of drug agents over normal cell causes restriction to increase the dose for proper targeting over the tumor cells. The less quantity drug for tumor cell develops resistance over it which causes lacking of response for prevention and treatment of cancer. So herbal agent could be better beneficial for targeting on tumor cell with lighter side effect. The various herbal agents will be discussed as per review that can be beneficial for treatment of colon cancer. A Comprehensive review.
Objective: To describe various safer herbal drugs and herbal technology with reduced adverse effects which can be implemented for treatment of cancer.
Method: Data for review were collected from, PubMed, Science Direct, Medline using the following key-words: ‘cancer’, ‘introduction’, ‘drug resistance’, ‘challenges in treatment of cancer’, ‘overview of colon cancer’, ‘novel herbal drugs of treatment of cancer’, and ‘recent advances in herbal technology for colon cancer’
Resource Use Efficiency and Marginal Value Productivity of Sugarcane Cultivation in Sant Kabir Nagar District, India
Sugarcane is one of the important commercial crops and plays a crucial role in the agro-industrial economy of India. The present study was undertaken on hundred farmers of sugarcane cultivation in Sant Kabir Nagar district of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Based on the nature of data, Cobb-Douglas production function was used for estimation resource use efficiency of sugarcane cultivation. The results revealed that return to scale on marginal, small and medium farms were 0.812, 0.912 and 0.962 respectively which are less than unity. It means, sugarcane cultivation is characterized by decreasing return to scale and the Coefficient of multiple determinations (R2) were 82.50, 84.10 and 87.50 percent the variation of output by dependent variable viz. seed, irrigation, plant protection and manure and fertilizers. The marginal value productivity of seed, irrigation, plant protection and manure and fertilizers measure were considerably high on all size groups of farms except fertilizers and seed on marginal farms. It indicates that positive relation is further scope for increase in the investment to realize more return
A Survey on the State of Art Approaches for Disease Detection in Plants
Agriculture is the main factor for economy and contributes to GDP. The growth of the economy of many countries is based on agriculture. As a result, the yield factor, quality and volume of agricultural products, play a critical role in economic development. Plant diseases and pests have become a major determinant of crop yields throughout the years, as such illnesses in plants offer a serious threat and impediment to higher yields or production in the agriculture industry. As a result, From the outset, it becomes the major duty to correctly monitor the plants, to detect diseases thoroughly, and to determine methods of controlling or monitoring these plant diseases pests in order to achieve a higher rate of production growth and minimal crop damage. Using machine vision, deep learning methods and tools for extracting and classifying features, It could be possible to build a reliable disease detection system. Numerous researchers have created and deployed various ways for detecting plant diseases and pests. The potential of these methods has been examined in this work

Constraints on Cole Crop of Production and Marketing: A Case Study of Sultanpur District of Uttar Pradesh, India
This study was conducted in the Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh State with the aim of identifying the constraints faced by cole crop growers in cultivation, production, and marketing. The researchers utilized the Garrett ranking method to analyze the data obtained from the respondents. A random sampling technique was employed to select participants for the study, with two blocks being chosen to ensure meaningful findings. The survey encompassed ten communities and involved 120 farmers from selected villages. The data collected for this study spanned the years 2021-2022. To gather primary data, personal interviews were conducted with cole crop growers using a pretested questionnaire. The study revealed several significant production constraints faced by the farmers, including the non-availability of credit, a lack of knowledge about the latest production technology, inadequate access to quality water, insufficient government assistance, and poor quality land. Furthermore, the research also highlighted key marketing constraints, which included price fluctuations, a lack of scientific storage facilities, high transportation costs, limited local demand for the produce, and a lack of scientific knowledge and training among the growers. This study sheds light on the various challenges encountered by cole crop growers in the Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The findings highlight the need for interventions to address these constraints in order to enhance cole crop cultivation, production, and marketing in the region. Effective measures such as improving credit accessibility, providing training on modern production techniques, ensuring the availability of quality water, supporting the establishment of scientific storage facilities, addressing transportation cost issues, and promoting market demand for the produce can contribute to the overall improvement of the cole crop sector in the area
