Portrayal of 20th-century European totalitarian regimes in Spanish secondary education textbooks

This paper intends to give a first impression of how XX-century European totalitarian regimes have been seen and presented by analysing a selection of Spanish History textbooks used in secondary education (ESO). Nowadays, both in our country and in the rest of Europe, a study of this type of manuals demands a reference to the debates which, in the last few decades, have focused on the didactic rethinking of the teaching of History. Se trata de caracterizar y definir los modelos de apropiación humana del espacio ulteriormente navarro durante las centurias altomedievales. De modo inicial, y dentro del apartado Articulación política del reino, se esboza el desarrollo histórico del reino con la finalidad de perfilar una explicación lógica para comprender el surgimiento y formación del espacio soberano pamplonés. Sólo así podrán entenderse las formas de ocupación y organización social, temática desarrollada en el apartado Formas de ocupación humana del territorio, con un análisis detallado del poblamiento de las tres grandes áreas del espacio protonavarro.
