Linguística e Comunicação: os Elementos de um Paradigma

In this article I argue in favor of a theory of communication that encompasses interindividual sociocultural differences in the communicative language behavior into a general theory of communication. In this sense I review some of the basic concepts of the Interactional Sociolinguistics and discuss its model of communication. Key concepts here are: interactive process, situated speech, contextualization cues, involvement in discourse, self, face, cooperation and language problems

O ESPAÇO DE TRANSIÇÃO DE FALANTES EM AUDIÊNCIAS DE CONCILIAÇÃO NO PROCON: LUGAR RELEVANTE PARA O DESACORDO?

ABSTRACT – The study explores aspects of the organization from the turns of speak and conversational sequence in Analysis of the Ethnic methodological Colloquy to argue the process of transition from speakers in meetings of conciliation in PROCON. The examination of some practical of taking from turn in this scene discloses an accomplishment anticipated of disagreement acts, in not excellent places for the transition from speakers. Such characteristic must over all to the conflict context, where the disagreement act gains prominence in the interaction. It is corroborated, finally, the Gruber perspective (1998), according to which, in determined conflict contexts, can be spoken in an excellent place for the disagreement

A prática de (re)formulação como estratégia argumentativa em situação de conflito

The article analyzes actual data of talk-in-interaction in a conflict situation and proposes to combine the formulation practice in ethnomethodological Conversation Analysis to the interactional perspective of argument. In a pilot qualitative case study, we follow the trajectory of an argumentative process of a combined sale in a conciliation hearing at PROCON. We specifically show how the (re)formulations are connected to the (re)introduction of positions and supports. We argue that both complement each other because, as the argument is a basic function of language and central in the legal world, the formulation is also an important practice because it is present in all contexts. We defend interaction as a privileged locus of human experience.Keywords: formulation practice, argumentative strategy, interaction in conflict situation.O artigo analisa dados reais de fala-em-interação em situação de conflito e propõe conjugar a prática de formulação em Análise da Conversa Etnometodológica à perspectiva interacional de argumentação. Em um estudo de caso, piloto, qualitativo, acompanhamos a trajetória do processo argumentativo de um caso de venda casada em uma audiência de conciliação no PROCON. Mostramos, especificamente, como as (re)formulações estão ligadas à (re)introdução de posições e de sustentações. Argumentamos que ambas complementam-se, pois, assim como a argumentação é uma função básica da linguagem e central no universo jurídico, a formulação é prática igualmente relevante, pois é presente em todos os contextos. Practices of everyday telephone conversation closings: when the call does not close

This paper studies everyday telephone conversation closings in the framework of ethnomethodological Conversation Analysis. Through the contributions of Schegloff and Sacks (1973) and Button (1987; 1990), among others, it aims to show some practices used by participants to continue the call, even after first closing cue. The corpus is constituted by data of naturally occurring talk, recorded from a Brazilian family who lives in the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, and evidences how the parties, in the Brazilian context, construct social relationships microsequentially. Thus, the study confirms the commonsense notion that finishing a conversation is a delicate issue for the participants, since they can use many practices to continue the conversation between the pre-closing first pair part “ok” and the closing second pair part “bye”. This article aims to describe the interactional phenomenon of nonharmonic accounts in Family Court setting. From the theoretical framework of Conversation Analysis, the analysis of talk-in-interaction data in this context will allow us to discuss the role of the professional who acts in name of the institution in this activity-type (Sarangi, 2001). The corpus was generated in Courtroom in a town in southeastern Brazil and comprise a whole of about 200 minutes of audio recordings, which were transcribed according to Jeffersonian model of transcription (Loder, 2008).KEYWORDS: Conflict talk. A partir do aporte teórico da Análise da Conversa Etnometodológica, a análise de dados de fala-eminteração nesse contexto vai nos possibilitar discutir o papel da representante da instituição nesse tipo de atividade (SARANGI, 2001). Os dados foram gerados no Fórum de uma cidade de interior no Sudeste brasileiro e compõem um corpus de cerca de 200 minutos de gravações em áudio, que foram transcritas de acordo com o modelo Jefferson de transcrição (LODER, 2008).PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Fala de conflito. Hibridismo de papeis do inspetor nos interrogatórios policiais na delegacia da mulher

This study investigates the role of a police officer of a female police station based upon the framework of Conversation Analysis and the situated perspective of roles in interaction, in a qualitative research of interactional sequences, recorded and transcribed according to the Jefferson’s model. As a result, we point out to the presence of hybridism of roles in this professional practice, what opens up the discussion about it’s (re)description as an applied contribution.Investigamos o papel de um inspetor de polícia de uma delegacia da mulher a partir do instrumental da Análise da Conversa e da perspectiva situada dos papéis em interação, em trabalho qualitativo de pesquisa, tendo nas sequencias interacionais, gravadas e transcritas de acordo com o modelo Jefferson o insumo para estudo. Como resultado, apontamos a presença de hibridismo de papéis em sua atuação, o que abre a discussão sobre a (re)descrição de sua prática profissional em contribuição aplicada

O uso da técnica do mata-leão em abordagem policial: um estudo multimodal de fala-em-interação

O uso ético da força em abordagens policiais tem recebido cada vez mais destaque na discussão sobre a violência policial no Brasil e no mundo. Neste artigo, examinamos, à luz da Análise da Conversa Multimodal (ACM), um vídeo postado no YouTube que registra o emprego da técnica de imobilização conhecida popularmente como mata-leão. Os resultados demonstram que a tomada de decisão do uso da força é um processo interpretativo, coconstruído interacionalmente. Considerando-se os protocolos institucionais oficiais sobre o uso progressivo da força, a videoanálise indica adiantamento de condutas corporificadas de coerção dos policiais. Revela também modelos culturais postos em ação na conduta policial. Assim, reivindicamos a relevância dos conhecimentos interacionais como nova chave analítica para se entender a tomada de decisão policial e o uso progressivo da força, destacando-se seu potencial para a formação policial.  Palavras-chave: Análise da Conversa Multimodal; Mata-leão; Violência Policial
