The purpose of the present investigation was to compare the personality characteristics of players who engage in combative games with those who engage in team games better to comprehend the distinctions between the two categories of players. The study examined 96 male athletes aged 21–26 who competed in intercollegiate competitions in their combative sport. The data was collected with the Big Five Personality Questionnaire by Oliver, P. John & Sanjay Srivastava was used to gather data (1999). The independent samples t-test compared combative game players and team game players. The significance threshold was 0.05. The results showed that combative and team sports differed in Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Openness to experience (p<0.05) but not in Neuroticism (p>0.05)

Context: Pranayama is a method for regulating and manipulating breath and meditation. It enables individuals to achieve a state of profound relaxation while maintaining mental alertness. Recent research on the effects of yoga on the respiratory system over the long term has shown promising results. Aim: This study\u27s primary objective was to assess pranayama\u27s impact on breath holding time. Settings and Design The present investigation entail the examination of a group of 25 male participants who exhibited good health and fell within the age range of 21 to 26 years. Methods and Material: The participants who met the specified inclusion and exclusion criteria were subjected to a 15-minute pranayama session facilitated by a yoga instructor over a period of 12 weeks. Respiratory functioning before and after yoga was assessed using measurements of breath-holding duration. The parameters were analyzed using the student t-test. Results: The breath-holding duration have shown a notable increase compared to the period before engaging in yoga practice. Conclusions: The findings of this study demonstrate the positive impacts of consistent engagement in pranayama on respiratory functioning

Greek Metaphysics and the Perspectives of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle in the Context of Physical Education

Plato emphasized the importance of physical education for soul development in his book ‘Phaedo’, which Socrates shunned for the same reason. Plato emphasized the physical component and the harmonious balance of the material and spiritual in his books ‘Republic’ and ‘Laws’. In his book ‘Politics’, Aristotle defined three elements of excellent education, the first of which was physical health. In this framework, sports and physical education should take precedence

Hit and run versus long-term activation of PARP-1 by its different domains fine-tunes nuclear processes.

Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP-1) is a multidomain multifunctional nuclear enzyme involved in the regulation of the chromatin structure and transcription. PARP-1 consists of three functional domains: the N-terminal DNA-binding domain (DBD) containing three zinc fingers, the automodification domain (A), and the C-terminal domain, which includes the protein interacting WGR domain (W) and the catalytic (Cat) subdomain responsible for the poly(ADP ribosyl)ating reaction. The mechanisms coordinating the functions of these domains and determining the positioning of PARP-1 in chromatin remain unknown. Using multiple deletional isoforms of PARP-1, lacking one or another of its three domains, as well as consisting of only one of those domains, we demonstrate that different functions of PARP-1 are coordinated by interactions among these domains and their targets. Interaction between the DBD and damaged DNA leads to a short-term binding and activation of PARP-1. This hit and run activation of PARP-1 initiates the DNA repair pathway at a specific point. The long-term chromatin loosening required to sustain transcription takes place when the C-terminal domain of PARP-1 binds to chromatin by interacting with histone H4 in the nucleosome. This long-term activation of PARP-1 results in a continuous accumulation of pADPr, which maintains chromatin in the loosened state around a certain locus so that the transcription machinery has continuous access to DNA. Cooperation between the DBD and C-terminal domain occurs in response to heat shock (HS), allowing PARP-1 to scan chromatin for specific binding sites

The main extent of the examinations executed have develop to be focused on finding the connections a portion of the patterns being researched even as protecting a uniform test setup. For the reason for the trial measurement, 3 astounding grained bond composite blends were planned and synthetic. The blends varied in the water-to-concrete proportion (w/c) and in the measure of plasticizer. The size yields are offered as graphs showing the people of the family between the examined parameters, together with relative period modification, mass misfortunes, temperature change, and acoustic discharge (AE) leisure activity all through hardening of the composites. The dimension consequences showed near members of the family among the examined trends. The development of relative length adjustments collectively with the development of mass losses and temperature development is contemplated inside the AE interest. The advanced size technique and technique supplied precious data approximately the behaviour of cement-based composites in the course of early placing and long-term hardening

Formulation and Optimization of Fast Dissolving Tablets of Meloxiam by Lyophilisation Mehod

ABSTRACT Lyophilisation is the most successful novel method for manufacturing of fast dissolving tablets (FDTs). In present study FDTs of meloxicam were prepared using lyophilisation method. Meloxica m is an anti-inflammatory drug used in rheumatoid arthritis. It is poorly soluble drug so efforts were made to increase its dissolution by incorporating SLS in formula. Physical properties of the tablets were optimised taking various concentrations of ingredients like gelatine as matrix forming agent, glycine and mannitol as bulking and elegance imparting agent and sodium alginate as viscosity increasing agent. SLS (0.3%w/v) was proved efficient in increasing dissolution of meloxicam. Tween20 and tween80 were used to decrease the disintegration time of the FDTs

Long-term trends of HIV/AIDS incidence in India: an application of joinpoint and age–period–cohort analyses: a gendered perspective

BackgroundMonitoring the transmission patterns of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in a population is fundamental for identifying the key population and designing prevention interventions. In the present study, we aimed to estimate the gender disparities in HIV incidence and the age, period, and cohort effects on the incidence of HIV in India for identifying the predictors that might have led to changes in the last three decades.Data and methodsThis study utilizes data from the Global Burden of Disease Study for the period 1990–2019. The joinpoint regression analysis was employed to identify the magnitude of the changes in age-standardized incidence rates (ASIRs) of HIV. The average annual percentage changes in the incidence were computed, and the age–period–cohort analysis was performed.ResultsA decreasing trend in the overall estimates of age-standardized HIV incidence rates were observed in the period 1990–2019. The joinpoint regression analysis showed that the age-standardized incidence significantly declined from its peak in 1997 to 2019 (38.0 and 27.6 among males and females per 100,000 in 1997 to 5.4 and 4.6, respectively, in 2019). The APC was estimated to be 2.12 among males and 1.24 among females for the period 1990–2019. In recent years, although the gender gap in HIV incidence has reduced, females were observed to bear a proportionately higher burden of HIV incidence. Age effect showed a decline in HIV incidence by 91.1 and 70.1% among males and females aged between 15–19 years and 75–79 years. During the entire period from 1990–1994 to 2015–2019, the RR of HIV incidence decreased by 36.2 and 33.7% among males and females, respectively.ConclusionIndia is experiencing a decline in new HIV infections in recent years. However, the decline is steeper for males than for females. Findings highlight the necessity of providing older women and young women at risk with effective HIV prevention. This study emphasizes the need for large-scale HIV primary prevention efforts for teenage girls and young women
