The experience of using ACE inhibitors and Ca channel blockers in the treatment of hypertension in patients with renal cell carcinoma
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is one of widely spread urological cancers. It is known that approximately 26% of patients with a history of kidney cancer (KC) may have concomitant coronary artery disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and some other systemic diseases, which may lead to nephrosclerotic changes and the development or progression of the existing CRF.
The aim of the study. To study the renal function effects of ACE inhibitors (perindopril arginine) in patients with RCC, both as monotherapy and in combination with Ca channel blockers when conducting treatment of concomitant hypertension (HT).
Materials and methods. The study enrolled 38 patients with RCC. All patients were diagnosed with RCC for the first time, with their cancer staged according to the TNM International Classification (Π’1 N0 M0).
Within a month, the use of combination therapy for kidney cancer complicated by Stage Π, Degree ΠΠ hypertension was leading to increases in serum creatinine by 3 Β΅mol/l and by 7 Β΅mol/l in those patients where combination therapy was not used. In the meantime, during the same period, glomerular filtration rate reduced by 5 ml/min/1.73 m2 in patients of the first group and by 15 ml/min/1.73 m2 in patients of the second group
GDP modelling: assessment of methodologies and peculiarities of its usage in Ukraine
GDP is one of the main indicators determining the level of economic growth in countries and regions across the globe, therefore, its calculation should be based on the advanced methodology. In the present context, the existing methods of the GDP calculation do not fully meet the fineness criterion subject to certain objective and subjective reasons. Hence, the development of more perfect methodology that takes into account the disadvantages of the existing techniques and is based on economic and mathematical modeling is an urgent national task for Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to assess the GDP calculation methodology used in Ukraine. To achieve this purpose, the relevant methods of GDP calculation, which are valid in Ukraine, have been analyzed, their specifics, certain drawbacks, problems of use and application scenarios have been also revealed. According to the analysis results, an advanced methodology based on an economic and mathematical model with the use of dynamic programming is proposed. The developed methodology for calculating the GDP takes into account the peculiarities of social development in Ukraine and the tendencies of world economic processes and contributes to obtaining more reliable GDP values. It will be useful for experts in financial institutions, including international ones, and scholars working in the macroeconomic modeling area
Study of Ukrainian Polar Explorers' Psychological Readiness for Extreme Environments at the Antarctic Station
The research is devoted to the study of
Ukrainian polar explorersβ psychological readiness for
extreme environments of the "Academician Vernadsky"
Antarctic station. The relevance of the study is
substantiated; the scientific papers of domestic and foreign
researchers on the problem concerned are analyzed. The
concept of psychological readiness for extreme
environmental conditions is specified; the age limits of the
studied groups are determined; methodological tools of
psychological research are presented. Theoretical bases
and practical results on the problem involved are
considered. The three aspects of readiness of the polar
explorers, namely psychophysiological, personality,
social-psychological are differentiated. The peculiarities of
psychological training are described. The complex of
methods of psychological research of three age categories
is implemented. The comparison of the results of the
research has revealed some changes in psychological
characteristics. It is proved that the most prepared age
group includes middle-aged persons (from 35 to 45 years),
which constitutes about 40% of the participants and
indicates a sufficient level of psychological stability of
wintering teams. These results enable to identify new
criteria for psychological prediction, as well as to confirm
the need for further psychological research
Optimization of air chamber in solar air collector
Recently, environmental problems have become more acute. In 1980, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) prepared the World Conservation Strategy. This document interpreted the term βsustainable developmentβ as an inseparable link between social development and nature conservation. And already in 1992, after the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, the concept of sustainable development gained a leading status. The conference materials determined that sustainable development is a development of a society that meets the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Therefore, being aware of the need for energy conservation, there is increasing emphasis on the use of solar energy throughout the world to generate electricity and heat
