OTIMIZAÇÃO DE PORTFÓLIOS: ANÁLISE DE EFICIÊNCIA
This article aims to analyze the behavior of a portfolio of assets selected by Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), optimized by the Sharpe approach, and compare it to portfolios of assets obtained only by DEA or the Sharpe approach. To do that, we used the DEA model to assess the efficiency of shares of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa), employing return, variance and other indicators such as input and output variables. Also, we used the Sharpe approach to optimize the portfolio composition. In the comparison of portfolios, we noted that the resulting combination of both models performed better than the portfolios optimized by only one of the models
Design, paisagem e patrimônio cultural : o estudo de caso da Praça da Copaíba na cidade Bauru
O presente estudo pretende analisar o perfil do
representativo. Por fim, o estudo traça um
comparativo com aspectos do Programa Polis, de
revitalização e ressignificação patrimonial e
cultural, desenvolvido em Portugal, elegendo
como elemento de comparação um de seus
parques: o Parque Verde do Mondego, em

Anthropometric aspects of body seated in school
This study aimed to assess the student-furniture interface from anthropometric parameters of the sitting posture. The sample was composed of 887 students from two public schools in the State of Parana - Brazil, which attended children from 7 to 17 years of age. The data collection used anthropometric measures of the sitting position, a questionnaire containing a human body diagram for indication of discomfort areas and photographic records to verify postural and ergonomic inadequacies in classroom. The following anthropometric variables were measured: popliteal height, sacro-popliteal length, hip width, lumbar support height, and elbow and thigh height. Percentiles 5 and 95 of anthropometric variables showed differences statistically significant, with variation coefficient greater than 30%. In relation to body discomfort, the highest occurrences were recorded for ankle, knees and shoulder joints as well as for spine and buttocks. It was concluded that children use school furniture that does not meet their anthropometric standards, which favored the adoption of incorrect postures and contributed to the emergence of musculoskeletal problems that can interfere with their educational process
Are cutout handles used when available in real occupational settings? Description of grips and upper extremities movements during industrial box handling
In order to achieve better postures and decrease musculoskeletal risks adequate design of hand/box couplings for manual materials handling (MMH) are still needed. No studies evaluating upper limb movement thorough direct measurements during box handling in workplace were identified in the literature. In this study we describe the types of grip and movements adopted by ten workers when handling redesigned boxes with cutout handles between different heights on industrial pallets. The new handles were used by 90% of the workers through different types of grip. Electrogoniometric measurements showed relatively safe forearm and wrist movements, although elbow inadequate range of movement was recorded. Despite the good acceptance of the cutout by workers, the new design requires extra internal space in the boxes reducing applications for this alternative of box
Evaluation of Two PET Bottles Caps: An Exploratory Study
AbstractPackaging design is a key factor on the use of the products. For packagings that require the application of biomechanical forces, some features may favor or hinder the user's ability to open them. In soft drink PET packaging, the cap features play an important role in the application of forces and perception of the activity. The aim of this study is to evaluate two models of PET bottle caps widely used in Brazil. The study variables are the torque force exertion and thermal images of the hands of the subjects before and after the attempts of opening. This study has an exploratory and experimental character and included 16 subjects of both genders. The materials include one single PET packaging model properly adapted for the purpose of the study; two cap models with different characteristics; a torque transducer; and a digital thermograph. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and tests for mean comparisons. The results point out that the cap design may have influenced the opening forces applied, but not the temperatures measured at the evaluated points on the subject's hands
O objetivo inicial deste estudo foi efetuar a pré-validação de um método AARSO, o QRAM, em duas cidades brasileiras, de médio e grande porte.<br>Risk Assessment for Health and Safety (RAH&S) of workers is a complex task that involves the consideration of many parameters that are, quite often, difficult to quantify. RAH&S in the construction industry is filled with inadequate data and/or imprecise and incomplete information, particularly in the design stage - to which traditional quantitative approaches do not have adequate answers. This study outlines the basic aspects for a Qualitative Risk Assessment Model (QRAM) based on elicited data, using fuzzy logic approach. The model was pre-validated in two Brazilian municipalities: Bauru, in the State of Sao Paulo, and Curitiba, in the State of Parana
