    METHOD DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION FOR THE SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF SERTRALINE AND DOXOFYLLINE IN PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE FORM BY RP-HPLC

    Objective: The aim of this work was to develop and validate a simple Reversed Phase - High Performance Liquid Chromatography method for the simultaneous estimation of Sertraline and Doxofylline in pharmaceutical dosage form.Methods: The mobile phase consists of Phosphate buffer and Acetonitrile in the ratio of (30:70) with gradiant programming, Kromasil C18(150×4.6 mm,5µ) column used as stationary phase with a flow rate of 1 ml/min, injection volume 10 µl and the run time was 7 min. Detection wavelength was at 234 nm by using Photo Diode Array detector.Results: The retention times of Doxofylline and Sertraline retention were found to be 2.82 min and 3.93 min, respectively. The method was validated according to ICH guidelines. Validation parameters like accuracy, precision, linearity, range, limit of detection, limit of quantification and robustness all were within the limits. The linearity responses of Doxofylline and Sertraline were found to be in the concentration ranges of 100-600 ppm and 12.5-75 ppm. The percentage recovery for both drugs were found in the range of 99-100%. The LOD & LOQ values for Doxofylline were found to be 0.58 and 1.77µg/ml and Sertraline were found to be 0.27 and 0.82 µg/ml, respectively.Conclusion: The results obtained are accurate and within the limits. Hence this method can be applicable for the estimation of Doxofylline and Sertraline in pharmaceutical dosage forms.Â

    This research study aims to examine the socioeconomic and occupational status of the fisherman community in the Thoothukudi district, located in the southern part of Tamil Nadu, India. The fishing community plays a vital role in the region's economy, contributing to the livelihoods of numerous households and supporting the local fishery industry. The study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data on various aspects of the fisherman community's socioeconomic conditions and occupational dynamics. A representative sample of fishermen and their families residing in different coastal villages within the Thoothukudi district will be selected for data collection. The quantitative phase involves administering structured surveys to collect data on demographic characteristics, education levels, household income, asset ownership, and access to social welfare programs. Additionally, information related to occupational factors such as fishing techniques, equipment, fishing practices, and income generated from fishing activities will be collected. The qualitative phase comprises in-depth interviews with a subset of participants to explore their perceptions, challenges, and aspirations related to their occupation and socio-economic circumstances. The qualitative data will provide a nuanced understanding of the fisherman community's lived experiences, social networks, and community support systems. The collected data will be analyzed using appropriate statistical methods and qualitative thematic analysis techniques. The findings of this research are expected to shed light on the current socioeconomic and occupational status of the fisherman community in the Thoothukudi district. The study will also identify key challenges and opportunities faced by the community, including issues related to poverty, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The results of this study can inform policymakers, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations working towards the welfare and development of the fisherman community. By understanding the socio-economic and occupational dynamics, stakeholders can design targeted interventions and policies to enhance the livelihoods, well-being, and sustainable development of the fisherman community in the Thoothukudi district and similar coastal regions

    Human Impact on Marine Life and Ecosystems: An Assessment of Conservation Strategies

    Human activities have had a significant impact on marine life and ecosystems, necessitating the implementation of conservation strategies to mitigate further damage. This abstract examines various conservation strategies and their effectiveness in addressing the human impact on marine environments. Industrialization, overfishing, pollution, and climate change have all had serious consequences for marine life. Coral reefs, seagrass meadows, and marine biodiversity have been degraded to unprecedented levels. To protect marine ecosystems, conservation strategies such as marine protected areas (MPAs), sustainable fishing practises, and pollution control measures have been implemented. MPAs have emerged as powerful tools for safeguarding critical habitats and species. They increase biodiversity, improve fish stocks, and mitigate the effects of human activity. Their success, however, is dependent on proper design, enforcement, and long-term monitoring. Sustainable fishing practices, such as ecosystem-based management and the implementation of fishing quotas, aim to ensure the long-term viability of fish populations while lowering bycatch and habitat destruction. These strategies have shown promise in restoring fish stocks and maintaining ecosystem health. Pollution control measures, such as wastewater treatment and stricter regulations on industrial and shipping activities, have been critical in reducing marine pollution. However, more comprehensive approaches are required to address emerging threats such as microplastics and chemical contaminants. The study's primary goal is to identify the factors that influence the organic product market in India. A sample size of 201 is used for empirical research. Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is the sample location. Age, gender, marital status, educational level, occupation, and monthly income are the independent variables. Biological Data, Environmental Data and Socio-economic Data are the dependent variables. It is possible to conclude that there is a lack of a well-established market for organic products in India, despite the fact that organic products have a high export potential. Finally, conservation strategies are critical for mitigating human impacts on marine life and ecosystems. MPAs, sustainable fishing practises, and pollution control measures can all help restore and protect marine biodiversity. However, ongoing research, adaptive management, and international cooperation are required to develop and refine these strategies to address emerging challenges in marine conservation

    Experimental investigation on split type window Air conditioner using HFC and HC mixture as ecofriendly refrigerant alternate to HCFC-22

    This paper reports on an experimental study evaluating a window air conditioner's performance when R152a/R290/R600/R600a refrigerant mixture (by various mass percentages) is used as a possible alternative to R-22. Alternative refrigerants are local, cheap, and environmentally friendly. Unmodified R-22 window AC was charged with R152a/R290/R600/R600a. During the experiment, parameters such as coefficient of performance, refrigeration effect, pressure ratio, compressor discharge temperature, refrigerant mass flow rate, and compressor power are analyzed. The present work shows that R152a-15%/R290-15%/R600-35%/R600a-35% is the best-performing alternative refrigerant. Proposed blends and R22's performance were compared

    The heats of formation of the haloacetylenes XCCY [X, Y = H, F, Cl]: basis set limit ab initio results and thermochemical analysis

    The heats of formation of haloacetylenes are evaluated using the recent W1 and W2 ab initio computational thermochemistry methods. These calculations involve CCSD and CCSD(T) coupled cluster methods, basis sets of up to spdfgh quality, extrapolations to the one-particle basis set limit, and contributions of inner-shell correlation, scalar relativistic effects, and (where relevant) first-order spin-orbit coupling. The heats of formation determined using W2 theory are: \hof(HCCH) = 54.48 kcal/mol, \hof(HCCF) = 25.15 kcal/mol, \hof(FCCF) = 1.38 kcal/mol, \hof(HCCCl) = 54.83 kcal/mol, \hof(ClCCCl) = 56.21 kcal/mol, and \hof(FCCCl) = 28.47 kcal/mol. Enthalpies of hydrogenation and destabilization energies relative to acetylene were obtained at the W1 level of theory. So doing we find the following destabilization order for acetylenes: FCCF >> ClCCF >> HCCF >> ClCCCl >> HCCCl >> HCCH. By a combination of W1 theory and isodesmic reactions, we show that the generally accepted heat of formation of 1,2-dichloroethane should be revised to -31.8±\pm0.6 kcal/mol, in excellent agreement with a very recent critically evaluated review.     A State of Review on Instigating Resources and Technological Sustainable Approaches in Green Construction

    Green building is a way to reduce the impact of the building stock on the environment, society, and economy. Despite the significance of a systematic review for the upcoming project, few studies have been conducted. Studies within the eco-friendly construction scope have been boosted in the past few decades. The present review study intends to critically analyse the available literature on green buildings by identifying the prevalent research approaches and themes. Among these recurring issues are the definition and scope of green buildings, the quantification of green buildings' advantages over conventional ones, and several green building production strategies. The study concludes that the available research focuses mainly on the environmental side of green buildings. In contrast, other crucial points of green building sustainability, such as social impacts, are often neglected. Future research objectives include the effects of climate on the effectiveness of green building assessment methods; verification of the actual performance of green buildings; specific demographic requirements; and future-proofing.O

    Keyhole craniectomy in the surgical management of spontaneous intracerebral hematoma

    Background and Objective: Although the surgical management of spontaneous intracerebral hematoma (SICH) is a controversial issue, it can be life saving in a deteriorating patient. Surgical techniques have varied from the open large craniotomy, burr hole and aspiration to the minimally invasive techniques like stereotactic aspiration of the SICH, endoscopic evacuation and stereotactic catheter drainage. The authors report their experience with a keyhole craniectomy for the surgical evacuation of SICH. Methods: Ninety-six cases of SICH were treated using the keyhole craniectomy technique. A small craniectomy of 2-2.5 cm diameter was made using a vertical incision over a relatively ‘silent area’ of the cortex closest to the clot. Using a small cortical incision the hematoma was evacuated and decompression was achieved. Hemostasis was achieved using standard microneurosurgical techniques. Results: Good to excellent outcome was achieved in 55 cases. Mortality was noted in 23 patients. Blood loss was minimal during the procedure. Good evacuation of the clot was seen in all but 5 cases as judged by the postoperative CT scan. Conclusion: The keyhole craniectomy technique is minimally invasive, safe and can achieve good clot evacuation with excellent hemostasis. It can be combined with microscopic or endoscopic assistance to achieve the desired result

    Nanomaterials for the Local and Targeted Delivery of Osteoarthritis Drugs

    Nanotechnology has found its potential in every possible field of science and engineering. It offers a plethora of options to design tools at the nanometer scale, which can be expected to function more effectively than micro- and macrosystems for specific applications. Although the debate regarding the safety of synthetic nanomaterials for clinical applications endures, it is a promising technology due to its potential to augment current treatments. Various materials such as synthetic polymer, biopolymers, or naturally occurring materials such as proteins and peptides can serve as building blocks for adaptive nanoscale formulations. The choice of materials depends highly on the application. We focus on the use of nanoparticles for the treatment of degenerative cartilage diseases, such as osteoarthritis (OA). Current therapies for OA focus on treating the symptoms rather than modifying the disease. The usefulness of OA disease modifying drugs is hampered by side effects and lack of suitable drug delivery systems that target, deliver, and retain drugs locally. This challenge can be overcome by using nanotechnological formulations. We describe the different nanodrug delivery systems and their potential for cartilage repair. This paper provides the reader basal understanding of nanomaterials and aims at drawing new perspectives on the use of existing nanotechnological formulations for the treatment of osteoarthritis

    Nonlinear thermal instability in a horizontal porous layer with an internal heat source and mass flow

    © 2016, Springer-Verlag Wien. Linear and nonlinear stability analyses of Hadley–Prats flow in a horizontal fluid-saturated porous medium with a heat source are performed. The results indicate that, in the linear case, an increase in the horizontal thermal Rayleigh number is stabilizing for both positive and negative values of mass flow. In the nonlinear case, a destabilizing effect is identified at higher mass flow rates. An increase in the heat source has a destabilizing effect. Qualitative changes appear in Rz as the mass flow moves from negative to positive for different internal heat sources
