Intense Neutrino Beams and Leptonic CP Violation
Effects of the Leptonic CP violating phase,\delta, on 3 generation neutrino
oscillation rates and asymmetries are discussed. A figure of merit argument is
used to show that our ability to measure the phase \delta is rather insensitive
to the value of \theta_{13} (for \sin^22\theta_{13}\gsim0.01) as well as the
detector distance (for very long oscillation baselines). Using a study of
\nu_\mu\to\nu_e oscillations for BNL-Homestake (2540 km) we show that a
conventional horn focused wide band neutrino beam generated by an intense 1-2
MW proton source combined with a very large water Cherenkov detector (250-500
kton) should be able to determine \delta to about \pm 15^\circ Figures, to be published in Neutrino2006 Proceeding
Higgs Resonance Studies At The First Muon Collider
Higgs resonance signals and backgrounds at the First Muon Collider are
discussed. Effects due to beam polarization and background angular
distributions (forward-backward charge asymmetries) are examined. The utility
of those features for improving precision measurements and narrow resonance
``discovery'' scans is described.Comment: 6 pages, latex. Presented at the Workshop on Physics at the First

Variational Approach in Wavelet Framework to Polynomial Approximations of Nonlinear Accelerator Problems
In this paper we present applications of methods from wavelet analysis to
polynomial approximations for a number of accelerator physics problems.
According to variational approach in the general case we have the solution as a
multiresolution (multiscales) expansion in the base of compactly supported
wavelet basis. We give extension of our results to the cases of periodic
orbital particle motion and arbitrary variable coefficients. Then we consider
more flexible variational method which is based on biorthogonal wavelet
approach. Also we consider different variational approach, which is applied to
each scale.Comment: LaTeX2e, aipproc.sty, 21 Page
Symmetry, Hamiltonian Problems and Wavelets in Accelerator Physics
In this paper we consider applications of methods from wavelet analysis to
nonlinear dynamical problems related to accelerator physics. In our approach we
take into account underlying algebraical, geometrical and topological
structures of corresponding problems.Comment: LaTeX2e, aipproc.sty, 25 pages, typos correcte
Lived Experience of Women Suffering from Vitiligo: A Phenomenological Study
Vitiligo is a chronic skin disease, which through change of appearance and body image, exerts a devastating effect on people, especially women. The objective of this study is to explore lived experience of women with Vitiligo by the hermeneutic phenomenology method. The purposive sample consisted of 16 Iranian women. Data analysis followed Diekelmann, Allen, and Tanner (1989). The results showed four main themes: (1) Perceiving myself in a different light; (2) Vitiligo: Worry about othersâ perceptions; (3) Vitiligo, Being influenced by cultural beliefs; and (4) Accepting and fighting the disease; Variations in experiences of living with Vitiligo. The women affected with Vitiligo during their marriage-ready years face various psychosocial problem s such as rejection by associates, isolation, divorce, and forced choice of a single lif
