    PELATIHAN PENGGUNAAN KIT IPA BAGI GURU DAN SISWA SMP N 32 MEDAN

    Abstract: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan judul Pelatihan penggunaan KIT IPA bagi guru SMP Negeri 32 Medan telah dilakukan pada 5 dan 12 Juni 2021. Hal ini berhubungan dengan alat-alat laboratorium IPA yang mana merupakan sumber belajar efektif untuk mencapai kompetensi yang diharapkan bagi guru dan siswa, sehingga hal tersebut mampu untuk memberdayakan fungsi laboratorium secara baik untuk menunjang kelancaran proses belajar mengajar. Kegiatan ini berlangsung selama dua hari bertempat di Ruang laboratorium SMP Negeri 32 Medan. Adapun tujuan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pelatihan penggunaan serta keterampilan para guru IPA tentang penggunaan KIT IPA yang tersedia di SMP Negeri 32 Medan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan metode ceramah, demonstrasi dan  diskusi. Para guru IPA sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini karena sebagian besar guru kurang memahami mengenai pemakaian alat KIT IPA. Pelatihan tentang penggunaan KIT IPA yang tersedia di laboratorium diharapkan para guru IPA dapat memperoleh pengetahuan dan keterampilan bagaimana cara menggunakan dan memanfaatkan alat-alat tersebut secara tepat sebagai media pembelajaran. Abstract: The activity of citizen with the training on the usage of KIT Science for teachers of SMP Negeri 32 Medan were held on 5th and 12th,  June 2021. This activity could relate to science laboratory equipment which is an effective learning to achieve the expected competencies for teachers and students, so it is able to empower the function of laboratory properly to support the continuity teaching and learning process. This activity went on for two days in the laboratory room of SMP Negeri 32 Medan. The purpose of this activities are to provide training on the usage and skills of science teachers on the using of the KIT Science which is available at SMP Negeri 32 Medan. The coaching service activity have methods such lecturing, demonstration and discussion methods. The science teachers were very enthusiastic during participated in the coaching because most of the teachers did not understand the use of the KIT Science tools. The training f the usage of the KIT Science is available in the laboratory that is expected for science teachers to gain knowledge and skills on how to utilize and wield these tools appropriately as learning media. &nbsp

    Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning Terhadap Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik Pada Materi Gelombang Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Lau Baleng

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi gelombang kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Lau Baleng . Jenis penelitian ini adalah true experimental design dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata pre-test kelas eksperimen 41,06 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol 38,94. Perhitungan uji t diperoleh thitung = 0,81 < ttabel = 2,0012 pada taraf signifikan ? = 0,05, ini berarti tidak ada perbedaan signifikan pada kemampuan awal peserta didik. Setelah diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda, diperoleh nilai rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen 75,30  sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol 67,58. Uji prasyarat menyatakan bahwa populasi berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Setelah itu uji hipotesis penelitian dilakukan menggunakan uji t satu pihak (pihak kanan).hasil perhitungan diperoleh thitung = 2,95 > ttabel = 1,67 pada taraf signifikan ? = 0,05. hubungan masing-masing variabel diindikasikan berpengaruh signifikan melalui uji regresi dengan hasil Y = 6,23+ 0,95X. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa, model pembelajaran discovery learning dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar dan aktivitas peserta didik pada materi gelombang kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Lau Baleng TP 2019/2020.     PENGARUH MODEL PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK PADA MATERI TEKANAN ZAT

    This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on student learning outcomes in the material pressure of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Manduamas. This type of research is quasi-experimental, the research sample consists of two classes, namely VIII-C as the experimental class and VIII-B as the control class, each consisting of 30 students. The research instrument is a learning activity observation sheet and multiple-choice objective tests to determine student learning outcomes. Based on the calculation of the t-test of the two parties, the pretest data = 0.05, it was obtained that H0 was accepted, that the initial abilities of the experimental class and control class students were the same. After being given different treatment, the results of the one-sided t-test calculation for posttest data for =0.05 were obtained tcount = 3.80 and ttable = 1.67 with tcount > ttable, then Ha was accepted. The relationship of each variable has a significant effect with the regression equation = 1.27 + 1.00X. So it was concluded that there was a significant effect of the problem-based learning model on the learning outcomes of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Manduamas.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem-based learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi tekanan zat kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Manduamas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Quasi Eksperimental, sampel penelitian terdiri dua kelas yaitu VIII-C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol  masing-masing terdiri 30 peserta didik. Instrumen penelitian adalah lembar observasi aktivitas belajar dan tes objektif pilihan berganda untuk mengetahui hasil belajar peserta didik. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji-t dua pihak data pretest  α=0,05 diperoleh H0 diterima, bahwa kemampuan awal peserta didik kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sama. Setelah diberikan perlakuan berbeda, hasil perhitungan uji-t satu pihak data posttest untuk α=0,05 diperoleh thitung = 3,80 dan ttabel = 1,67 dengan thitung > ttabel, maka Ha diterima. Hubungan masing-masing variabel berpengaruh signifikan dengan persamaan regresi = 1,27 + 1,00X. Sehingga disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan model problem-based learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Manduamas

    This study aims to determine the effect of discovery learning models on student learning outcomes in class VII heat material at SMP Negeri 2 Manduamas with quasi-experimental research methods and the population in the study, namely class VII SMP students with a total sample of 82 students. The sampling technique is Cluster Sampling. The instrument used was the test of learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice as many as 20. Before being given treatment to the two classes, the results obtained - the average pretest score for the experimental class was 49.63 and the average score for the control class was 49.44. After being given different treatments, the average posttest score for the experimental class was 74.26 and the average posttest score for the control class was 64.26. The results of the posttest data prerequisite test stated that the sample was normally distributed and homogeneous. Then, a one-sided t-test (a = 0.05) was performed with the condition that t count > t table or 4.13 > 1.67. So it can be said that there is a significant effect of discovery learning model on student learning outcomes in heat material for class VII SMP.   &nbsp

    This study aims to determine the effect of students' ability to identify language styles on the ability to write inspirational stories. Factors that cause low students' writing skills are due to the lack of students' vocabulary, the difficulty of conveying ideas in writing. and less able to understand the style of language. This study used a quantitative experimental method, with class IX research subjects at SMP N 4 Laguboti T.A 2022/2023, with a total population of 194 students and a sample of 32 people. Determination of the sample using the lottery technique. This type of research design is a pre-experimental design, namely the One Group Pretest-Posttest design which only uses one class for learning. The data collection technique is to give test assignments to students. The results of this study indicate that the activity of identifying language style influences the ability to write inspirational stories, this is evident from the Hypothesis Test which has been carried out with Fcount Ftable or 11.59 2.03. So that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted

    Cyclic Oxidation Resistance of MoSi2 Added FeCrAlTiY Coatings on ST41 Steel at 700oC Prepared by a Flame Spraying Technique

    Advanced power generation will be operated at higher temperatures and pressure to achieve higher efficiency and reduce CO2 emission. This may significantly impact the use of carbon steel that previously has been used in boiler fabrication. In this study, a flame spraying technique was applied to develop a highly resistant coating of MoSi2 added FeCrAlTiY on ST41 steel to improve its oxidation resistance. Four variations of MoSi2 concentration as 0, 10, 20 and 30 in mass% were prepared to investigate the effect of its addition on the cyclic oxidation resistance of FeCrAlTiY coating at 700oC for 8 cycles. The phase composition and microstructure of the coating before and after the oxidation test were analyzed using XRD and SEM, respectively. While the element distribution along the coating was characterized using an EDX. According to the results, partially and fully melted particles, oxides and pores are present in the coatings. It becomes more porous with the increase of MoSi2 concentration. The oxidation test results indicate that the FeCrAlTiY with 10 mass% MoSi2 addition exhibits the lowest mass gain (0.217 mg/mm2) compared to that of MoSi2-free coating (0.261 mg/mm2) and FeCrAlTiY coating with 20 and 30 mass% MoSi2 (0.297 and 0.308 mg/mm2, respectively). As the MoSi2 concentration increases, its addition leads to the deterioration of FeCrAlTiY coating oxidation resistance. The results suggest that FeCrAlTiY-10 mass% MoSi2 is the most resistant coating to cyclic oxidation at 700oC in air and can be applied as a protective coating in advanced power generation

     This study aims to determine the effect of PBL on physics learning outcomes in light material at SMP Negeri 2 Tambusai.  The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method with the research population being class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Tambusai and the sample in this study was 50 students.  The sampling technique used is purposive sampling.  The experimental class (VIII1) research sample was obtained using the PBL model and the control class (VIII2) using the conventional model.  The instrument used is a test of learning outcomes in the form of multiple-choice as many as 20 questions.  before receiving treatment for the two samples, the experimental class pretest average score was 38.80 with a standard deviation of 13.87 and in the control class the average value was 38.20 and the standard deviation was 11.26.  After doing different studies, the average posttest score for the experimental class was 71.00 and in the control class the average score was 65.80 and the standard deviation was 9.97.  the results of the pretest and posttest data prerequisite test stated that the sample had normality and homogeneity distribution.  then a one-sided t-test (α=0,05) and a simple regression test were performed.  from the results of one-party t-test, namely thitung> ttabel  (1,761 > 1,677)  with a significant level of 0.042.  and for the results of the simple regression test Y = 24,64+0,61X . in the equation the linear regression direction coefficient (b)=0.61 indicates that if student activity increases by 1, student learning outcomes will increase by 0.61.  it is concluded that there is a significant effect of the PBL model on the learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Tambusai in the academic year 2020/2021Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model  PBM  terhadap hasil belajar fisika pada materi cahaya diSMP Negeri 2 Tambusai. Metode yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen semu dengan populasi penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 2 Tambusai TP. 2020/2021. Teknik sampel Purposive Sampling, diperoleh sampel penelitian kelas eksperimen (VIII1)  menggunakan model PBM dan kelas kontrol (VIII2) menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Intrumen yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar dengan bentuk pilihan berganda sebanyak 20 soal. Sebelum mendapatkan perlakuan kepada kedua, diperoleh hasil  rata-rata skor pretes kelas eksperimen 38,80 dengan standar deviasi 13,87 dan hasil  rata-rata skor pretes kelas kontrol 38,20 dengan standar deviasi 11,26. Setelah dilakukan pembelajaran yang berbeda, diperoleh hasil  rata-rata skor posttes kelas eksperimen 71,00 dengan standar deviasi 10,90 dan hasil  rata-rata skor posttes kelas kontrol 65,80 dengan standar deviasi 9,97. Hasil uji prasyarat data postes menyatakan sampel berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji t satu pihak (α=0,05) dan uji regresi sederhana. Dari hasil uji t satu pihak maka diperoleh thitung> ttabel  (1,761 > 1,677) dengan taraf signifikan 0,042. Dan untuk hasil uji regresi sederhana diperoleh Y = 24,64+0,61X. Pada persamaan tersebut kofisien arah regresi linear (b) = 0,61 menunjukkan bahwa jika aktivitas siswa meningkat sebesar 1 maka akan meningkat hasil belajar siswa akan meningkat sebesar 0,61. Maka disimpulkan ada pengaruh yang signifikan  model PBM terhadap hasil belajar fisika  kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2. &nbsp
