    Sensor Based Industrial Kitchen Foodstuffs Monitoring System

    Artificial Intelligence based foodstuff monitoring system is used for inventory management in industrial kitchens, restaurants, canteens, vegetable stores and so on. If the store keeper is not available to monitor the grocery and orders, the process will be risky. The proposed method considers the level estimation detection using ultrasonic sensor and if the container is empty then the information is sent to the store keeper. By this method, the intimation about availability of specific food item can be found and items not available can be ordered for purchasing. The DHT11 sensor is used to monitor the humidity and temperature inside the container, if any of these two is high then the notification will be sent. Decomposed organic items are identified by MQ3 sensor based on detection of alcoholic gas produced by organic items. The sensors data such as grocery level, humidity, temperature and decomposition range of organic items are collected from the corresponding smart container. This data transaction happens via micro controller known as Node MCU. The level of the groceries present, and spoiled organic items can be identified and mail notification can be triggered in the early stage with the help of mobile application called IFTTT

    Geo-social-rbac: A location-based socially aware access control framework

    The ubiquity of low-cost GPS-enabled mobile devices and the proliferation of online social networks have enabled the collection of rich geo-social information that includes the whereabouts of the users and their social connections. This information can be used to provide a rich set of access control policies that ensure that resources are utilized securely. Existing literature focuses on providing access control systems that control the access solely based on either the location of the users or their social connections. In this paper, we argue that a number of real-world applications demand an access control model that effectively captures both the geographic as well as the social dimensions of the users in a given location. We propose, Geo-social-RBAC, a new role based access control model that allows the inclusion of geo-social constraints as part of the access control policy. Our model, besides capturing the locations of a user requesting access and her social connections, includes geo-social cardinality constraints that dictate how many people related by a particular social relation need to be present in the required locations at the time of an access. The model also allows specification of geo-social and location trace constraints that may be used to dictate if an access needs to be granted or denied

    Quadcopter based Automatic Spattering of Pesticides and Fertilizers

    Agriculture plays a major role in Indian Economy. The crop yield depends upon the pesticides and fertilizers applied in the fields. But the manual handling of these things leads to health hazards. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that over 3 million cases of pesticides poison each year, which is majority in developing countries like India. This paper aims to overcome the problem by automating the spray of pesticides and fertilizers in the fields. The system is constituted by an aerial sprayer which consists of a Quadcopter and spraying mechanism. The Quadcopter is controlled by the Radio Frequency signals and the spraying of pesticides is achieved with less manual labour without any health issues. This paper is to mainly overcome the ill-effects of pesticides on human beings and also to cover larger areas with short span of time

    Endometriosis fertility index at laparoscope: a ray of hope and lots of scope

    Background: Endometriosis fertility index (EFI) is used to predict the fecundity in women with surgically and histologically confirmed endometriosis. Aim of the study is to evaluate the successful spontaneous pregnancy rates in patients with endometriosis after laparoscopic surgery in relation to EFI score.Methods: Observational cross-sectional study was conducted on 76 patients who desire to conceive with suspected endometriosis related infertility treated by laparoscopic surgery. EFI score was calculated and information on mode of conception (spontaneous or assisted reproductive technology-ART) was collected by contacting the patients.Results: In women who conceived spontaneously, mean age was 31.33+3.29 years. Factors found to be significant were age (pvalue-0.0001), time to achieve spontaneous pregnancy (median-9 months). Patients with higher EFI score (5-10) has good spontaneous conception rate (96.2%) compared to those with lower EFI score (0-4) that conceived better with ART (60%) women with lower least function score has better outcome for spontaneous pregnancy (p<0.001).Conclusions: EFI scoring system is effective in predicting postoperative successful spontaneous pregnancy rates in the patients with endometriosis. In our study patients with higher EFI score achieved successful spontaneous pregnancy

    Sclerosing TFEB Rearrangement Renal Cell Carcinoma: A Recurring Histologic Pattern

    Renal cell carcinoma with TFEB rearrangement (t[6;11][p21;q13]) was initially recognized to be composed of dual populations of large cells with clear cytoplasm and small cells forming rosettes around hyaline material. With increasing awareness, however, the spectrum of described morphology has been found to be more heterogeneous. We report a 54-year-old woman who underwent partial nephrectomy for a 2.4-cm renal mass, composed of fibrosis, hyalinization, calcification, and ossification and a smaller component of epithelioid cells. Immunohistochemical staining revealed diffuse positivity for cytokeratin AE1/AE3 and PAX8, patchy labeling for melan-A, human melanosome, and cathepsin K, and negative caldesmon, smooth muscle actin, TFE3 protein, carbonic anhydrase IX, CD10, cytokeratin 7, epithelial membrane antigen, and inhibin. Fluorescence in situ hybridization confirmed rearrangement of TFEB and not TFE3. Together with one recent case in another report, our findings suggest that extensive sclerosis and ossification may be a less common recurring histology of TFEB-rearrangement renal cell carcinoma

    MapReduce analysis for cloud-archived data

    Public storage clouds have become a popular choice for archiving certain classes of enterprise data - for example, application and infrastructure logs. These logs contain sensitive information like IP addresses or user logins due to which regulatory and security requirements often require data to be encrypted before moved to the cloud. In order to leverage such data for any business value, analytics systems (e.g. Hadoop/MapReduce) first download data from these public clouds, decrypt it and then process it at the secure enterprise site. We propose VNCache: an efficient solution for MapReduceanalysis of such cloud-archived log data without requiring an apriori data transfer and loading into the local Hadoop cluster. VNcache dynamically integrates cloud-archived data into a virtual namespace at the enterprise Hadoop cluster. Through a seamless data streaming and prefetching model, Hadoop jobs can begin execution as soon as they are launched without requiring any apriori downloading. With VNcache's accurate pre-fetching and caching, jobs often run on a local cached copy of the data block significantly improving performance. When no longer needed, data is safely evicted from the enterprise cluster reducing the total storage footprint. Uniquely, VNcache is implemented with NO changes to the Hadoop application stack. © 2014 IEEE

    The objective of this study was to perform a comparative experimental evaluation to determine the detection sensitivity, classification (fJaw type) and depth sizing accuracy of A.C. flux leakage, single-frequency eddy current, electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) generated surface waves, and broadband ultrasonic methods for the measurement of complex surface connecting flaws in hot rolled, seamless, ferritic tubing. Since it was of interest to invest NDE techniques over a wide range of capabilities, tubing having flaw depths far exceeding industry standards was tested and evaluated. Results of the study will be used to provide a benchmark assessment of these NDE methods, from which decisions concerning production test systems can be made

    Mechanical properties of phormium tenax reinforced natural rubber composites

    The introduction of natural fibers as a filler in a natural rubber (NR) matrix can be of relevance for their eco-friendly and sustainable nature as the substitute for carbon-based fillers. In this work, short Phormium tenax fibers were introduced in random orientation into a NR matrix in different lengths (6, 10, and 14 mm) and various amounts (10, 20, and 30%, taking 100 as the NR weight). The composite was fabricated using a two-roll mill according to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D3184-11 standard. Several properties were determined, namely tensile and tear characteristics, hardness, and abrasion resistance. The results suggest that the shortest fiber length used, 6 mm, offered the best combination between loss of mechanical (tensile and tear) properties and hardness and the most acceptable resistance to abrasion, with the properties increasing with the amount of fibers present in NR. As a consequence, it is indicated that a higher amount of fibers could be possibly introduced, especially to achieve harder composites, though this would require a more controlled mixing process not excessively reducing tensile elongation at break
