Analysis of Bankruptcy using Data Mining Approach
This study involves the development of neural network prediction model to predict the stage of bankruptcy of a company. A total of 367 data was attained from the
Registrar of Business and Companies, Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) and Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia). The data was then analyzed by considering the basic statistics, frequency and cross tabulation in order to get more information about the data. Initially, the data was classified using logistic regression. In addition, it was also trained using neural network in order to obtain the bankruptcy model. The findings show that the most suitable prediction model consist of 12 nodes of input , hidden layer 6 node and one output layer. The generalization performance of the selected model is100%. This methodology should be able to provide some new insight into the type of pattern that exists in the data. Thus, neural network has a great potential in supporting for predicting bankruptcy
Prevalence of latent tuberculosis infection and its associated factors among patients with diabetes in Hospital Universti Sains Malaysia
Introduction: The important association between tuberculosis and diabetes mellitus is
even more prominent in developing countries, including Malaysia, where tuberculosis is
endemic and the burden of diabetes mellitus is fast increasing.
Objectives: To determine the prevalence of latent tuberculosis infection among patients
with diabetes and factors associated with it.
Methodology: A cross sectional study was conducted from October 2013 to January
2015. Mantoux test was performed on the patients whom are eligible and gave consent
to participate in the study and reading was carried out at 72 hours. Respondents with
mantoux reading of 10mm or more with a normal chest radiograph were diagnosed with
LTBI.
Results: The response rate for this study was 93.7% with 319 respondents tested with
tuberculin skin test for latent tuberculosis infection. The prevalence of latent
tuberculosis infection among diabetic patients was 11.4%. Education level was
significant associated with LTBI; while other factors studied (age, gender, duration of
diabetes, HbA1c result, smoking status, presence of any co-morbities and on insulin
treatment) showed no significant association with latent tuberculosis infection in
diabetic patient

A Study on the Motivation-based Tourist Destination Image
This paper raised a comprehensive theoretical model of motivation-based tourism destination image studies to explore the relationships among motivation, destination image, self-congruity and visit intentions. By collecting data from tourists visiting Beijing in 2008 and by using SEM, the empirical results indicate that the hypothesis for the theoretical model about the relationships among tourist motivations, tourist perceived destination images, self-congruity and visiting intention to the specific tourist destination are supported
Factors Affecting Students’ Satisfaction with a Course: Does Physical Environment Matters?
This study intends to examine factors that influence students’ satisfaction with a course and how this satisfaction with a course affects course recommendation. Furthermore, the moderating effects of the physical classroom environment were examined in the relationship between the factors and students’ satisfaction with a course. Data were collected from students in private universities in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was analyzed using Partial Least Squared Method (PLS). The results showed that course evaluation, instructional support, students self-efficacy all have a significant positive effect on students’ satisfaction with a course, and students’ satisfaction with a course positively influences course recommendation. However, our results did not find a significant relationship between the student-teacher relationship and students’ satisfaction with a course. Moreover, our findings confirmed the moderating role of the physical classroom environment on the relationship between course evaluation, instructional support, students’ self-efficacy, student-teacher relationship and course satisfaction.
