    The influence of dimethyl sulphide and carbon disulphide in the bouquet of wines

    Sensory evaluation of DMS added to wines at very low concentrations has shown that addition of 0.022 μl · l-1 resulted in statistically more favoured wines than those with no, or 0.044 μl · l-1 added DMS. This shows that low concentrations of DMS can have a beneficial effect on the quality of some wines.The concentration of CS2 necessary to give any sensory response was higher than that observed in any commercial wine.The threshold of smell for DMS in distilled water was found tobe 7.5 x 10-5 μl · l-1 (0.08 ppb) while that for taste was 4 x 10-4 μl · l-1 (0.4 ppb).Der Einfluß von Dimethylsulfid und Schwefelkohlenstoff auf das WeinaromaBei der sensorischen Beurteilung von Weinen, denen Dimethylsulfid in sehr niedrigen Konzentrationen zugesetzt worden war, wurden jene mit 0,022 μl · l-1 vor solchen ohne oder mit 0,044 μl · l-1 Dimethylsulfid bevorzugt. Universities are the apex bodies in higher education system and can provide environmental education through its curricular design, research and collaborative efforts with NGO’s working in those areas.     CONTROLLED CLINICAL EVALUATION OF MAMAJJAK CHOORNA IN STHULA MADHUMEHA VIZ-A-VIZ TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS

    Sthula Madhumeha (viz-e-viz type 2Diabetes Mellitus) is the vital problem in present era. The change in lifestyle and food habit is the major concern of the problem. The available drug therapy concentrating on levels of blood sugar rather than symptoms of patients like excessive thirst, Nocturnal enuresis, burning sensation in hands, feet and many more. Ayurveda emphasized more on these symptoms. These symptoms affects the patients routine life and work capacity. On behalf of these symptoms the role of Mamajjak Choorna which is described by Acharya Priyavrat Sharma in his book Dravya guna Vidnyan Vol. 2 page 705 found to be more effective in comparison to modern oral hypoglycemic and well practiced drug Metformin. Total 40 patients of newly diagnosed of Diabetes Mellitus were taken and divided in two groups as Trial group 20 patients on Mamajjak Choorna 5 gm B.I.D. given for 12 weeks. Control Group 20 patients on tab. Metformin 500 mg B.I.D. given for 12 weeks. On consumption of Mamajjak Choorna for 12 weeks it was found that there is improvement in the symptoms Pipasati Pravrutti (74.27%), Nakta mutrata (83.33%), Hasta-padatala daha (82.5%) Pippalika Sancharvaat prachti (85.71%), Prabhuta Avila mutrata (77.5%), Swedatipravritti (82.5%) so far as consumption of Metformin is concern, it was found as follows Pipasati Pravrutti (64.71%), Nakta mutrata (72.94%), Hasta-padatala daha (51.28%), Pippalika Sancharvaat prachti (50%), Prabhuta Avila mutrata (71.88%), Swedatipravritti (51.16%).     A SURVEY ON KEY-AGGREGATE SEARCHABLE ENCRYPTION FOR GROUP DATA SHARING IN CLOUD STORAGE

    Security concerns over inadvertent data leaks in the cloud may greatly ease the capability of selectively sharing encrypted data with different users via public cloud storage. So designing such an encryption schemes is a key challenge which lies in the efficient management of encryption keys. When any group of selected documents need to share with any group of users a desired flexibility is required with demands different encryption keys, which are used for different documents. However this also indicates the need of securely sharing to users a large number of keys for encryption and search, and those users will have to safely save the received keys, and submit an equally large number of keywords trapdoors to the cloud in order to perform search over the shared data. The indicated purpose of safe communication, storage, and difficultly clearly renders the approach impractical. In this paper, we address this practical problem, which is greatly neglected in the literature, here we are proposing the new concept of key aggregate searchable encryption and instantiating the concept through a concrete KASE scheme. In this scheme, the documents are shared by just submitting a single trapdoor by the user to the cloud for querying and this single key is being received by the data owner for sharing large number of documents. Our proposed scheme can confirm prove both the safety as well as practically efficient channels by security analysis and performance evaluation. It can securely store and manage the users in their devices. In order to perform a keyword search over many files a large number of trapdoors must be generated by users and submitted to the cloud. Such a system with secure communication, storage and computational complexity may lead to inefficiency and impracticality

    The OnyCOE-t™ questionnaire: responsiveness and clinical meaningfulness of a patient-reported outcomes questionnaire for toenail onychomycosis

    BACKGROUND: This research was conducted to confirm the validity and reliability and to assess the responsiveness and clinical meaningfulness of the OnyCOE-t(™), a questionnaire specifically designed to measure patient-reported outcomes (PRO) associated with toenail onychomycosis. METHODS: 504 patients with toenail onychomycosis randomized to receive 12 weeks of terbinafine 250 mg/day with or without target toenail debridement in the IRON-CLAD(® )trial completed the OnyCOE-t™ at baseline, weeks 6, 12, 24, and 48. The OnyCOE-t™ is composed of 6 multi-item scales and 1 single-item scale. These include a 7-item Toenail Symptom assessment, which comprises both Symptom Frequency and Symptom Bothersomeness scales; an 8-item Appearance Problems scale; a 7-item Physical Activities Problems scale; a 1-item Overall Problem scale; a 7-item Stigma scale; and a 3-item Treatment Satisfaction scale. In total, 33 toenail onychomycosis-specific items are included in the OnyCOE-t™. Clinical data, in particular the percent clearing of mycotic involvement in the target toenail, and OnyCOE-t™ responses were used to evaluate the questionnaire's reliability, validity, responsiveness, and the minimally clinical important difference (MCID). RESULTS: The OnyCOE-t™ was shown to be reliable and valid. Construct validity and known groups validity were acceptable. Internal consistency reliability of multi-item scales was demonstrated by Cronbach's alpha > .84. Responsiveness was good, with the Treatment Satisfaction, Symptom Frequency, Overall Problem, and Appearance Problem scales demonstrating the most responsiveness (Guyatt's statistic of 1.72, 1.31, 1.13, and 1.11, respectively). MCID was evaluated for three different clinical measures, and indicated that approximately an 8.5-point change (on a 0 to 100 scale) was clinically meaningful based on a 25% improvement in target nail clearing. CONCLUSION: The OnyCOE-t™ questionnaire is a unique, toenail-specific PRO questionnaire that can be used with confidence in future studies of toenail onychomycosis. MCID was evaluated for three different clinical measures, and indicated that approximately a 7-point change (on a 0 to 100 scale) was clinically meaningful based on a 12.5% improvement in target nail clearing
