    Evaluation of histopathology of endometrium in primary infertile women, a prospective five years observational study in Konaseema region of Andhra Pradesh

    Background: Histopathology of endometrium is considered important investigation in case of infertility. The functional disturbance involved in infertility may result in morphological changes in endometrium. Endometrial histopathology is helpful in dating of endometrium so that hormonal status, ovulation and infertility.Methods: The material for this study consists of endometrial tissue obtained from patients. It was collected either by endometrial biopsy or curettage of uterus done in the minor OT department of obstetrics and gynaecology. The specimen was processed paraffin tissue processing and section of five micrometer was cut and stained with hematoxylin and eosin and ZN staining as per requirement.Results: Morphological and histopathological pattern of endometrium of patients with primary infertility, anovulatory (proliferative endometrium was present in 24 (30%) patients, simple hyperplasia was present in 16 (20%), deficient secretary phase was present in 26 (32.50%) patients, adequate secretary phase was present in 7 (8.75%) patients. Endometrial tuberculosis was diagnosed in 4 (5%) patients and in one patient neoplastic change was found. Arias Stella reaction was present in 1 (1.25%) patients.Conclusions: From present study we can conclude that the mean age of patients with primary infertility was 25.76±3.21 years and most of the patients were between 26 to 35 years of age. Regular menstrual cycle was present in 54 (67.5%) patients and 32.5% patients were presented with irregular cycle. The duration of infertility between 3 to 6 years was present in 34 (42.5%) patients. Secretory endometrium was present in 52.5% patients and was most common finding followed by proliferative endometrium. Endometrial tuberculosis was present in 2.5% patients

    Impact of Variable Ordering Cost and Promotional Effort Cost in Deteriorated Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) Model

    The instantaneous economic order quantity (EOQ) profit optimization model for deteriorating items is introduced for analyzing the impact of variable ordering cost and promotional effort cost for leveraging profit margins in finite planning horizons. The objective of this model is to maximize the net profit so as to determine the order quantity and promotional effort factor. For any given number of replenishment cycles the existence of a unique optimal replenishment schedule are proved and further the concavity of the net profit function of the inventory system in the number of replenishments is established. The numerical analysis shows that an appropriate policy can benefit the retailer, especially for deteriorating items. Finally, sensitivity analyses with respect to the major parameters are also studied to draw managerial decisions in production systems

    Symplectic quaternion scheme for biophysical molecular dynamics

    Massively parallel biophysical molecular dynamics simulations, coupled with efficient methods, promise to open biologically significant time scales for study. In order to promote efficient fine-grained parallel algorithms with low communication overhead, the fast degrees of freedom in these complex systems can be divided into sets of rigid bodies. Here, a novel Hamiltonian form of a minimal, nonsingular representation of rigid body rotations, the unit quaternion, is derived, and a corresponding reversible, symplectic integrator is presented. The novel technique performs very well on both model and biophysical problems in accord with a formal theoretical analysis given within, which gives an explicit condition for an integrator to possess a conserved quantity, an explicit expression for the conserved quantity of a symplectic integrator, the latter following and in accord with Calvo and Sanz-Sarna, Numerical Hamiltonian Problems (1994), and extension of the explicit expression to general systems with a flat phase space

    Mobile computing is presently experiencing a period of unprecedented growth with the convergence of communication and computing capabilities of mobile phones and personal digital assistant. However, mobile computing presents many inherent problems that lead to poor network connectivity. To overcome poor connectivity and reduce cost, mobile clients are forced to operate in disconnected and partially connected modes. One of the main goals of mobile data access is to reach the ubiquity inherent to the mobile systems: to access information regardless of time and place. Due to mobile systems restrictions such as, for instance, limited memory and narrow bandwidth, it is only natural that researchers expend efforts to soothe such issues. This work approaches the issues regarding the cache management in mobile databases, with emphasis in techniques to reduce cache faults while the mobile device is either connected, or with a narrow bandwidth, or disconnected at all. Thus, it is expected improve data availability while a disconnection. Here in the paper, we try to describe various mobile transaction models, focusing on versatile data sharing mechanisms in volatile mobile environments

    A Field Effect Transitor based on the Mott Transition in a Molecular Layer

    Here we propose and analyze the behavior of a FET--like switching device, the Mott transition field effect transistor, operating on a novel principle, the Mott metal--insulator transition. The device has FET-like characteristics with a low ``ON'' impedance and high ``OFF'' impedance. Function of the device is feasible down to nanoscale dimensions.     Formation of Influenza Virus Particles Lacking Hemagglutinin on the Viral Envelope

    We investigated the intraceUular block in the transport of hemagglutinin (HA) and the role of HA in virus particle formation by using temperature-sensitive (Is) mutants (1s134 and 1s61S) of inOuenza virus AlWSN/33. We found that at the nonpermissive temperature (39.5°C), the exit of ts HA from the rough endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi complex was blocked and that no additional block was apparent in either the exit from the Golgi complex or post-Golgi complex transport. When MDBK ceUs were infected with these mutant viruses, they produced noninfectious virus particles at 39.5°C. The efficiency of particle formation at 39.5°C was essentiaUy the same for both wild-type (wt) and Is virus-infected cells. When compared with the wt virus produced at either 33 or 39.5°C or the ts virus formed at 33°C, these noninfectious virus particles were lighter in density and lacked spikes on the envelope. However, they contained the full complement of genomic RNA as well as aU of the structural polypeptides of inOuenza virus with the exception of HA. In these spikeless particles, HA could not be detected at the limit of 0.2% of the HA present in wt virions. In contrast, neuraminidase appeared to be present in a twofold excess over the amount present in Is virus formed at 33°C. These observations suggest that the presence of HA is not an obligatory requirement for the assembly and budding of inftuenza virus particles from infected ceUs. The implications of these results and the possible role of other viral proteins in inOuenza virus morphogenesis are discussed
