Territory and cooperativism: A spatial analysis of the Spanish region of Andalusia

This study seeks to identify the behavior of cooperative societies in Andalusia, as well as the environments in which their greater relative importance is evident. The weight of cooperative societies is significantly greater in Andalusia as compared to the rest of Spain. These organizations are noteworthy for acting under social, economic and environmental principles and values, and represent a potential opportunity for the region. The methodology applied for this purpose consists of spatial analysis using descriptive graphing techniques and application of spatial autocorrelation. Among the results obtained, a significant finding is these organizations’ defined behavior as opposed to that of mercantile or traditional businesses. In mapping the weight of cooperativism in Andalusia, this study enables a deeper understanding that could lead to improved design and execution of general and specific territorial policies, and with a greater guarantee of success

Approximation to the profile and quality of the employment generated by the andalusian cooperative societies

El objetivo del presente trabajo ha consistido en identificar y caracterizar el perfil y la calidad del empleo en las cooperativas en Andalucía en comparación con el resto del tejido empresarial, con el fin de determinar si verdaderamente presentan una mayor calidad frente al resto de empresas. Las cooperativas, organizaciones de Economía Social que destacan en la región andaluza en términos cuantitativos, se caracterizan por ser empresas que actúan bajo principios y valores sociales, por lo que identificar qué tipo de empleo existe en estas organizaciones es de especial interés en cuanto al establecimiento de políticas específicas territoriales. Para alcanzar el objetivo planteado, se han realizado análisis descriptivos y pruebas no paramétricas utilizando la Muestra Continua de Vidas Labores (MCVL) del Ministerio de Empleo y Seguridad Social español. Entre los resultados obtenidos destaca que estas organizaciones pueden presentarse como oportunidad de empleo, en mayor grado que el resto de empresas mercantiles o convencionales, para colectivos sociales con dificultades de acceso al mercado laboral, como son los jóvenes y los mayores de 45 años de edad. Esto podría justificar el hecho de conceder a las cooperativas un papel significativo en las estrategias y políticas públicas que fomenten el empleo en Andalucía.The aim of this study has been to identify and characterize the profile and quality of employment generated by cooperative societies in Andalusia in comparison to the traditional business sector, in order to determine whether really they have a higher quality over all companies. The cooperatives are entities of Social Economy which base their operations on a series of social, economic and environmental principles and values. In addition, a significant weight of these societies exists in this region. Therefore, identifying what type of employment exists in these organizations is of special interest for the establishment of specific territorial policies. In order to achieve the objective proposed, descriptive analysis and non parametric tests with the Continuous Professional Life Sample of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security of Spain has been performed. The cooperatives as an opportunity of employment to a greater degree than the traditional business sector for certain social groups who have difficulties of access to the labour market such as young people and over the age of 45 is among the main results. In this way, granting a significant role to cooperative societies of the public strategies and policies in Andalusia would be justified

Propuesta de un soporte basado en fibra de carbono y resinas termoestables : análisis y comparación con soportes y técnicas pictóricas tradicionales

El objetivo de esta Tesis doctoral es el estudio de materiales compuestos para su utilización con fines artísticos, tanto en realización como en conservación-restauración de obras de arte. Los materiales estudiados principalmente están basados en fibra de carbono y en fibra de vidrio. Se ha desarrollado un nuevo soporte basado en un laminado de fibra de carbono con aplicaciones en procesos de conservación-restauración de pintura mural y como soporte móvil para realización de pintura mural y de caballete. Para la realización del soporte se ha usado un tejido de fibra de carbono de alta resistencia preimpregnado con una matriz de tipo epoxy que polimeriza a altas temperaturas. Se han comprobado las mejoras que aporta el nuevo soporte respecto a los soportes tradicionales y su compatibilidad con las técnicas pictóricas más comunes. Se ha definido una capa de intervención para pintura mural a partir del mismo material y se han propuesto diferentes formulaciones artísticas con métodos de fabricación alternativos, innovadores y asequibles

Protocolo de obtención de líneas base

Existe una necesidad de evaluar la eficiencia energética de los edificios, pero se carece de un protocolo o guía que ayude a las distintas empresas y organizaciones al cálculo de un modelo a partir del que poder obtener dicha eficiencia. Es por ello que el objetivo principal de este proyecto es desarrollar un protocolo para la obtención de líneas base así como aplicarla a un sector que a día de hoy está desatendido, el residencial. La línea base que se obtiene es un modelo de temperatura interior para viviendas que no hacen uso de sistemas de climatización. Para la obtención de dicho modelo se establecerán los datos de partida que son necesarios para su elaboración, además de un estudio climático para la obtención de los datos exteriores requeridos, así como la creación de una ley solar para cada vivienda que permita corregir la radiación según su orientación. Igualmente se pretende demostrar la utilidad que tiene el modelo creado aplicándolo a viviendas reales y realizando diversos estudios sobre los resultados obtenidos.There is a need to evaluate the energy efficiency of buildings, but is wanting a protocol or guide to help the different companies and organizations to calculate a model from which to obtain such efficiency. This is the main objective of this project, develop a protocol for obtaining baselines and apply it to a sector that today is unattended, the residential sector. The baseline you get is a model of residence internal temperature without air conditioning systems. To obtain such models we set the baseline data which are necessary for its preparation, and a climate study for obtaining the required external data as well as the production of a solar law for each property that allows correct radiation by orientation. Cooperative Societies and Sustainability: A Spatial Analysis of Andalusia as a Tool for Implementing Territorial Development Policies, Strategies and Initiatives

Local development strategies, policies and initiatives that contribute to sustainable development are gaining increasing prominence. Cooperative societies-the most relevant organisations within the social economy-are widely present in Andalusia and play a key role in boosting sustainable development through their principles and values. On this basis, the article aims to determine whether certain areas in Andalusia are more predisposed to the presence of these enterprises and are more sustainable as a result. The methods used include an adapted shift-share analysis and application of local Moran's I to obtain spatial clusters allowing the areas most favourable to the presence of this type of organisation to be identified. Therefore, one of the main contributions of the study is that it provides a tool for the application of local development policies, strategies and initiatives involving cooperatives in pursuit of a more sustainable society

Demografía y mercado de trabajo en la provincia de Cádiz: algunas reflexiones

El artículo se centra en un análisis del mercado de trabajo en la provincia de Cádiz, un mercado con la tasa de desempleo más alta en España. En este artículo, los principales factores han sido identificados. El punto de partida para el análisis es la evaluación de las variables demográficas, siendo el punto central el análisis de las variables socio-económicas. Se ha estudiado la dinámica sectorial y la cualificación de los trabajadores, siendo uno de los factores principales que pueden explicar la especial situación del mercado de trabajo de Cádiz. Una característica de Cádiz es la juventud de su población que puede ser un factor para la migración. Hay múltiples factores que son cruciales en el contexto del mercado de trabajo de Cádiz. Estos son la crisis de los astilleros, la menor cualificación de los trabajadores, la localización en la periferia de España y la débil generación de empleo en el sector servicios. Finalmente presentamos las principales conclusiones.The paper focuses on an empirical analysis of the labour market in the province of Cadiz, a market with the highest unemployment rate in Spain. In this article, the main causal factors of the situation have been identified. The starting point for the analysis is the evaluation of the demographic variables with the focal point being an analysis of socio-economic variables. The sectorial dynamic and the skills of workers have been studied, being primary factors which can explain the special situation in the labour market of Cadiz. A feature of Cadiz is a young population which could be a primary motivating factor in migration. A number of essential factors are crucial in the context of the labour market. These are the shipyards crisis, the lower skills of workers, location at the Spanish geographic periphery and the weak generation of employment in the service sector. Transitional Poverty, New Approaches from the Economic Crisis

The current economic crisis is revealing social and structural changes that entail a worsening of the levels of poverty and wellbeing of the population. In this line, the objective of this work is to deepen the knowledge of the situation of poverty in the municipality of Jerez de la Frontera, to be able to contribute to a better design and application of measures and actions of general and specific socioeconomic policies with greater guarantee of success. For this, an analysis methodology has been applied by age, sex, productive sectors and other characteristics based on surveys and interviews. Among the main conclusions of this work and as one of its contributions, the emergence of a new type of transitory poverty from the construction sector should be noted, establishing a new scenario derived from the impact of the crisis, which requires a specific response.La actual crisis económica está poniendo de manifiesto cambios sociales y estructurales, que conllevan un empeoramiento de los niveles de pobreza y de bienestar de la población. En esta línea, el objetivo de este trabajo es profundizar en el conocimiento de la situación de pobreza en el municipio de Jerez de la Frontera, para contribuir a un mejor diseño y aplicación de medidas y actuaciones de políticas socioeconómicas generales y específicas con mayor garantía de éxito. Para ello, se ha aplicado una metodología de análisis por edad, sexo, sectores productivos y otras características, basada en encuestas y entrevistas. Examining teamwork competencies and team performance in experiential entrepreneurship education: emergent intragroup conflict as a learning triggering event

Purpose – Although the importance of teamwork competencies and effective conflict management in entrepreneurship education is recognised, we have limited knowledge of how these factors interact to influence performance in entrepreneurial teams. This research explores teamwork competencies as a predictor of entrepreneurial team performance and the moderating effect of emerging cognitive and interpersonal team conflict as levers in entrepreneurship learning. Design/methodology/approach –Atime-lagged survey method was used to collect data from 49 teams (156 individuals) of undergraduate students in an experiential new venture creation course. A predictive model of entrepreneurial team performance through hierarchical regression analyses and moderated-moderation analyses was tested. Findings – Results reveal that teamwork competencies have a significant and direct influence on entrepreneurial team performance and that intragroup conflict strengthens that relationship when high levels of cognitive conflict and low levels of interpersonal conflict emerge. Practical implications – The findings have implications for the design of entrepreneurial training programs, which will benefit from interventions aimed at teamwork competency development that incorporate strategies promoting constructive cognitive conflict while preventing the emergence of interpersonal conflict. Originality/value – This study is a step forward in entrepreneurship education research from the perspective of social and interpersonal processes by identifying the patterns of intra-team conflict that lead to more effective entrepreneurial teams and more productive use of teamwork competencies in a learning-by-doing entrepreneurial context
