Weak Chaos in large conservative system -- Infinite-range coupled standard maps
We study, through a new perspective, a globally coupled map system that
essentially interpolates between simple discrete-time nonlinear dynamics and
certain long-range many-body Hamiltonian models. In particular, we exhibit
relevant similarities, namely (i) the existence of long-standing
quasistationary states (QSS), and (ii) the emergence of weak chaos in the
thermodynamic limit, between the present model and the Hamiltonian Mean Field
model, a strong candidate for a nonxtensive statistical mechanical approach.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures. Corrected typos in equation 4. Changed caption in

Customer Service During the Health Emergency in the La Condamine Shopping Centre
Sales management involves the establishment of strategic objectives, development and control of the action plan, and planning and management of the necessary resources to increase revenue. Customer service is a fundamental marketing tool and has a direct impact on sales. It is responsible for establishing places of contact with customers and for using channels while establishing relationships with them before, during, and after the sale of a good or service [6]. The purpose of this work was to analyze and predetermine how the quality of customer service influenced sales during the health emergency at the La Condamine Shopping Center in the city of Riobamba. The study sample included 200 merchants. The results show a need for improvement in customer service by the sales representative in order to increase their sales.

Digital Communication and Its Influence on Consumer Habits During Health Emergencies
Virtual Social Networks, such as Facebook, text messages, and instant messaging, have produced a great flow of real-time data like never seen before. This has turned multitasking into an information management strategy (Campos, 2018, p. 5). Currently, social networks have become a massive economic medium and generated many expectations due to the growth potential they offer. The sample of this study was made up of 213 marketing students of the Polytechnic School of Chimborazo – 110 female and 103 male students from the Coast, Sierra, and Amazon regions. Results show that digital communication informs and influences the decision of a consumer to purchase goods and services.

Asteroseismology of evolved stars to constrain the internal transport of angular momentum. VI. Testing a parametric formulation for the azimuthal magneto-rotational instability
Asteroseismic measurements of the internal rotation rate in evolved stars
pointed out to a lack of angular momentum (AM) transport in stellar evolution
models. Several physical processes in addition to hydrodynamical ones were
proposed as candidates for the missing mechanism. Nonetheless, no current
candidate can satisfy all the constraints provided by asteroseismology. We
revisit the role of a candidate process whose efficiency scales with the
contrast between the rotation rate of the core and the surface which was
proposed to be related to the azimuthal magneto-rotational instability (AMRI)
by Spada et al. We compute stellar evolution models of low- and
intermediate-mass stars with the parametric formulation of AM transport
proposed by Spada et al. until the end of the core-helium burning for low- and
intermediate-mass stars and compare our results to the latest asteroseismic
constraints available in the post main sequence phase. Both hydrogen-shell
burning stars in the red giant branch and core-helium burning stars of low- and
intermediate-mass in the mass range can be simultaneously reproduced by this kind of parametrisation.
Given current constraints from asteroseismology, the core rotation rate of
post-main sequence stars seems to be well explained by a process whose
efficiency is regulated by the internal degree of differential rotation in
radiative zones.Comment: Accepted for publication in Astronomy & Astrophysics. 10 pages, 10

An abridged Spanish version of Sexual Double Standard Scale: Factorial structure, reliability and validity evidence
Background/Objective Sexual double standard (SDS) has long been associated to several dimensions of sexual health. Therefore the assessment of SDS is relevant and requires self-reported measures with adequate psychometric properties. This study aims to adapt the Sexual Double Standard Scale (SDSS) into heterosexual Spanish population and examine its psychometric properties. Method: Using quota incidental sampling, we recruited a sample of 1, 206 individuals (50% women), distributed across three groups based on their age (18-34, 35-49 and 50 years old and older). Results: We performed both, Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. An abridged version was yielded, consisting of 16 items distributed into two factors (Acceptance for sexual freedom and Acceptance for sexual shyness). A second-order factor structure was also adequate, which facilitates the use of a global index for SDS. Reliability, based on internal consistency and temporal stability was good for the factors. Evidence of validity is also shown and reported. Conclusions: This adapted version of the SDSS is reliable and valid. The importance for its use to estimate the prevalence of both traditional and modern forms of this phenomenon is discussed.
αV-Integrins Are Required for Mechanotransduction in MDCK Epithelial Cells
The properties of epithelial cells within tissues are regulated by their immediate microenvironment, which consists of neighboring cells and the extracellular matrix (ECM). Integrin heterodimers orchestrate dynamic assembly and disassembly of cell-ECM connections and thereby convey biochemical and mechanical information from the ECM into cells. However, the specific contributions and functional hierarchy between different integrin heterodimers in the regulation of focal adhesion dynamics in epithelial cells are incompletely understood. Here, we have studied the functions of RGD-binding αV-integrins in a Madin Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cell model and found that αV-integrins regulate the maturation of focal adhesions (FAs) and cell spreading. αV-integrin-deficient MDCK cells bound collagen I (Col I) substrate via α2β1-integrins but failed to efficiently recruit FA components such as talin, focal adhesion kinase (FAK), vinculin and integrin-linked kinase (ILK). The apparent inability to mature α2β1-integrin-mediated FAs and link them to cellular actin cytoskeleton led to disrupted mechanotransduction in αV-integrin deficient cells seeded onto Col I substrate
Non-extensive entropy from incomplete knowledge of Shannon entropy?
In this paper we give an interpretation of Tsallis' nonextensive statistical
mechanics based upon the information-theoretic point of view of Luzzi et al.
[cond-mat/0306217; cond-mat/0306247; cond-mat/0307325], suggesting Tsallis'
entropy to be not a fundamental concept but rather a derived one, stemming from
an incomplete knowledge of the system, not taking properly into account its
interaction with the environment. This interpretation seems to avoid some
problems occurring with the original interpretation of Tsallis statistics.Comment: v.4. 11 pages. Title changed. Content substantially changed: added

Liquidity and the multiscaling properties of the volume traded on the stock market
We investigate the correlation properties of transaction data from the New
York Stock Exchange. The trading activity f(t) of each stock displays a
crossover from weaker to stronger correlations at time scales 60-390 minutes.
In both regimes, the Hurst exponent H depends logarithmically on the liquidity
of the stock, measured by the mean traded value per minute. All multiscaling
exponents tau(q) display a similar liquidity dependence, which clearly
indicates the lack of a universal form assumed by other studies. The origin of
this behavior is both the long memory in the frequency and the size of
consecutive transactions.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, submitted to Europhysics Letter
Psychometric properties of the mindfulness in teaching scale among Spanish teachers
Mindfulness in the educational field provides several benefits. The assessment of mindfulness is a fundamental previous step for evidence-based interventions. Therefore, the present study aimed to adapt and validate the Mindfulness in Teaching Scale (MTS) among Spanish teachers. This scale comprises 14 items on two dimensions: intrapersonal and interpersonal. The sample comprised 398 teachers (31% males, 68% females) whose ages ranged from 25 to 69 years (M = 44.14; SD = 10.16). Once the scale was adapted in Spanish, we examined its psychometric properties. To do so, we conducted a Confirmatory Factor analysis (CFA), which supported the two-factor structure. As evidence for validity, the MTS scores correlated with perceived teaching self-efficacy. The reliability values using Cronbach’s alpha were good. This scale has adequate psychometric properties and is useful for assessing mindfulness among Spanish teachers. We discuss its implications for the education field
Ubiquity of metastable-to-stable crossover in weakly chaotic dynamical systems
We present a comparative study of several dynamical systems of increasing
complexity, namely, the logistic map with additive noise, one, two and many
globally-coupled standard maps, and the Hamiltonian Mean Field model (i.e., the
classical inertial infinitely-ranged ferromagnetically coupled XY spin model).
We emphasize the appearance, in all of these systems, of metastable states and
their ultimate crossover to the equilibrium state. We comment on the underlying
mechanisms responsible for these phenomena (weak chaos) and compare common
characteristics. We point out that this ubiquitous behavior appears to be
associated to the features of the nonextensive generalization of the
Boltzmann-Gibbs statistical mechanics.Comment: Communication at next2003, Second Sardinian International Conference
