Spanish Tourist Behaviour: A Specific Objective-base Segmantation

    Get PDF
This work uses data from the Spanish Tourism Demand Segments Survey (N=6900) conducted by the IESA-CSIC for Turismo Andaluz, SA. The objective of the paper is to develop a statistical segmentation or typology of Spanish tourists based on objective aspects of tourist behaviour measured in the survey including destinations visited, theme of the trip, lodging, transportation and travel group. Initial categorical data are reduced using multiple correspondence analysis and grouped through cluster analysis. Afterwards, identified segments are evaluated to analyse their tourist profiles with a view to examining sociological perspectives of tourist behaviour.Tourist Demand, Segmentation, Spain, Domestic Tourism, Multiple Correspondence Analysis, Cluster Analysis

PTP1B promotes focal complex maturation, lamellar persistence and directional migration

Previous findings established that ER-bound PTP1B targets peripheral cell-matrix adhesions and positively regulates cell adhesion to fibronectin. Here we show that PTP1B enhances focal complex lifetime at the lamellipodium base, delaying their turnover and facilitating α-actinin incorporation. We demonstrate the presence of catalytic PTP1BD181A-α-actinin complexes at focal complexes. Kymograph analysis revealed that PTP1B contributes to lamellar protrusion persistence and directional cell migration. Pull-down and FRET analysis also showed that PTP1B is required for efficient integrin-dependent downregulation of RhoA and upregulation of Rac1 during spreading. A substrate trap strategy revealed that FAK/Src recruitment and Src activity are essential for the generation of PTP1B substrates in adhesions. PTP1B targets the negative regulatory site of Src (phosphotyrosine 529), paxillin and p130Cas at peripheral cell-matrix adhesions. We postulate that PTP1B modulates more than one pathway required for focal complex maturation and membrane protrusion, including α-actinin-mediated cytoskeletal anchorage, integrin-dependent activation of the FAK/Src signaling pathway, and RhoA and Rac1 GTPase activity. By doing so, PTP1B contributes to coordinated adhesion turnover, lamellar stability and directional cell migration.Fil: Burdisso, Juan Eduardo. Searches for a high-mass Higgs boson in the ZZ and WW decay channels with the CMS detector

AbstractSearches for a high-mass Higgs boson decaying into WW and ZZ channels have been carried out using data collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV at the LHC collider, corresponding to integrated luminosities of about 5 fb−1 and 20 fb−1, respectively. Many different final states have been considered and upper limits on the Higgs boson production cross section have been derived. The results are interpreted in a BSM model containing an additional electroweak singlet
