This article submits a new version of internalism with respect to our reasons to act. The argument has three stages: an enlargement of the orthodox moral psychology that takes into account the authority of love in human agency (H. Frankfurt); the statement that our loving interpersonal relationships are the fi rst analogate of love; and, fi nally, a non-reductive account of love and the recognition of the actual hierarchy of the loves of human agents, which is in tension with an adequate hierarchy of loves
Reactivity of a Pt(100) cluster modified by adsorption of a nickel tetramer
The aim of this paper is to report a study of the reactivity of Pt(100) cluster and the same system modified by a nickel tetramer towards the atomic hydrogen adsorption. This study was carried out in the framework of density functional theory which provides global and local indexes that can be used to characterize the reactivity. The analyzed reactivity descriptors were: chemical potential, chemical hardness, electrophilicity index and Fukui function. The results showed that the global reactivity descriptor predicts that the platinum cluster modified by nickel is more reactive than the pure platinum cluster and that the local Fukui function provides information about the most susceptible site to electrophilic attack in platinum cluster.Instituto de Investigaciones Fisicoquímicas Teóricas y Aplicada

Perceptions of Disabilities Among Native Americans Within the State of Utah
Currently, little research exists on disabilities among Native American communities and no research exists on how Native Americans perceive disabilities, services currently available, and unmet needs. Understanding these key areas is essential to providing efficacious and culturally relevant care. To address this gap in the literature, we used Indigenous research methodology through sharing circles throughout the state of Utah to listen and amplify the voices of the Native communities. Participants shared how they conceptualize disability, what they thought of current services, and how they thought the needs of Native persons with disabilities should be addressed. Four major themes emerged in the data: a culturally-based conceptualization of disability, barriers to services, belonging, and needed actions. These themes highlight the cultural strengths among Native communities surrounding disabilities and bring attention to systematic change needed to better address the needs of Native Americans with disabilities
Demographic fitness of Belminus ferroae (Hemiptera: Triatominae) on three different hosts under laboratory conditions
Triatominae are widely recognised for their role as vectors of Trypanosoma cruzi. One of the main biological characteristics of this subfamily is their obligate haematophagous condition. However, previous studies on Belminus herreri and Belminus ferroae suggested that cockroaches are their principal hosts in domiciles. Due to this peculiar behaviour, the aim of this study was to analyse several demographic and reproductive parameters of B. ferroae fed on three different hosts (mice, cockroaches and Rhodnius prolixus) and relate B. ferroae fitness to these alternative hosts. The cohorts were reared under constant conditions. The egg hatching rate was similar for cohorts fed on cockroaches (69.4%) and R. prolixus (63.8%), but was much lower for the cohort fed on mice (16%). The development time from the nymph to adult stage and the average age of first reproduction (α) presented lower values in the cohort fed on cockroaches, which is consistent with the higher population growth rate associated with this host. Demographic parameters [intrinsic rate of natural increase, finite rate of population growth, net reproductive rate and damping ratio] showed statistically significant differences between the cohorts. Analysis of the life history of B. ferroae revealed a higher fitness related to the cockroach. The implications of these results for the origin of the subfamily are discussed.

A case of Desmoplastic Fibroma of the Bone, located in the femoral neck, in
a 34 year old male patient is reported. The tumor was treated by wide resection, the reconstruction
beem performed with an allograft-prostheses composite. One year after surgery, there was
no local recurrence and a good is incorporation of the allograft to the host was observed. The
patient showed a good hip function. The literature is reviewed and diagnostic and therapeutic
considerations are discussed
