Marketing In Greece: The Reasons Of Its Underdevelopment
The purpose of this article is to demonstrate that marketing in Greece is underdeveloped because the nation does not have an adequate number of private corporations due to insufficient industrialization. Advanced marketing practices are the result of the corporate form of business. Industrialization in Greece was followed by arapid shift to post-Fordism in the late 1980s which had a tremendous impact upon the lack of opportunity for merging small organizations into larger ones needed for the creation of the corporate form of business and the formation of new and larger organizations in the corporate form. The corporate form of business is large, provides in abundance, the factors of production, and has highly developed functional units—production, marketing, finance, and human resources. Clearly, the majority of Greek business organizations are small, thus disallowing for formation of an infrastructure that leads to the development of marketing through the effective and efficient use of all the factors of production

Josephson junctions in thin and narrow rectangular superconducting strips
I consider a Josephson junction crossing the middle of a thin rectangular
superconducting strip of length L and width W subjected to a perpendicular
magnetic induction B. I calculate the spatial dependence of the gauge-invariant
phase difference across the junction and the resulting B dependence of the
critical current Ic(B).Comment: 4 pages, 6 figures, revised following referee's comment
Measurements of the ClO radical vibrational band intensity and the ClO + ClO + M reaction product
There is considerable interest in the kinetics and concentrations of free radicals in the stratosphere. Chlorine monoxide is a critically important radical because of its role in catalytic cycles for ozone depletion. Depletion occurs under a wide variety of conditions including the Antarctic spring when unusual mechanisms such as the BrO sub x/ClO sub x, ClO dimer (Cl sub 2 O sub 2), and ClO sub x/HO sub x cycles are suggested to operate. Infrared spectroscopy is one of the methods used to measure ClO in the stratosphere (Menzies 1979 and 1983; Mumma et al., 1983). To aid the quantification of such infrared measurements, researchers measured the ClO ground state fundamental band intensity
La gestión del conocimiento desde la perspectiva del pensamiento del mestizaje
In the context of an administrative experience at the School of Languages at the University of Antioquia, they are thought different aspects concerning knowledge management. We start from the principle, marked by Mèlich (2002), according to which ethics is not an end but accompanying processes. Then, we think this mana¬gement from the ethics of mestization given by Nouss and Laplantine (2001, 2008) and Nouss (2005), in which complementarity rather than melting and differen¬tialism is proposed. We anticipate our analysis from these two perspectives, and through a qualitative approach of hermeneutical character understand knowledge management, as an act of complementarity where each of the participants of this process brings namely that as a manage¬ment tools, are forming a higher power that favors spaces for quality teaching and learning
A steady-state continuous flow chamber for the study of daytime and nighttime chemistry under atmospherically relevant NO levels
Experiments performed in laboratory chambers have contributed significantly to the understanding of the fundamental kinetics and mechanisms of the chemical reactions occurring in the atmosphere. Two chemical regimes, classified as high-NO vs. zero-NO conditions, have been extensively studied in previous chamber experiments. Results derived from these two chemical scenarios are widely parameterized in chemical transport models to represent key atmospheric processes in urban and pristine environments. As the anthropogenic NO_x emissions in the United States have decreased remarkably in the past few decades, the classic high-NO and zero-NO conditions are no longer applicable to many regions that are constantly impacted by both polluted and background air masses. We present here the development and characterization of the NCAR Atmospheric Simulation Chamber, which is operated in steady-state continuous flow mode for the study of atmospheric chemistry under intermediate NO conditions. This particular chemical regime is characterized by constant sub-ppb levels of NO and can be created in the chamber by precise control of the inflow NO concentration and the ratio of chamber mixing to residence timescales. Over the range of conditions achievable in the chamber, the lifetime of peroxy radicals (RO_2), a key intermediate from the atmospheric degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), can be extended to several minutes, and a diverse array of reaction pathways, including unimolecular pathways and bimolecular reactions with NO and HO_2, can thus be explored. Characterization experiments under photolytic and dark conditions were performed and, in conjunction with model predictions, provide a basis for interpretation of prevailing atmospheric processes in environments with intertwined biogenic and anthropogenic activities. We demonstrate the proof of concept of the steady-state continuous flow chamber operation through measurements of major first-generation products, methacrolein (MACR) and methyl vinyl ketone (MVK), from OH- and NO_3- initiated oxidation of isoprene
Using ASP-Based Message Encryption Project to Teach Information Security Concepts
Information security has emerged as one of the most important subjects of information system (MIS) majors. This paper describes the use of a message encryption project based on Microsoft Active Pages (ASP) that encourages MIS students to explore some of the technical aspects of information security in some depth. This project served as a valuable pedagogical tool. Students having only limited programming and database experience benefited significantly from this course

Post-carotid stent ultrasound provides critical data to avoid rare but serious complications
SummaryCarotid stenting is a common procedure for revascularization of carotid artery stenosis. In this study, we evaluated the role of carotid ultrasound post carotid stenting. In a retrospective analysis, we identified 45 patients who received post-stent ultrasound. On routine follow-up we measured a range for peak systolic velocity of 33–150cm/s and end diastolic velocity 11–52cm/s. We also identified two cases, where immediate post-stent ultrasound provided critical data that required further intervention, and potentially avoided serious complications
