The Use of Simulation to Increase Critical Thinking of Perinatal Nurses in the Care of Preeclampsia Patients
Objective: To increase critical thinking in perinatal nursescaring for patients with preeclampsia, with the support of key nursing, education, and medical leadership, an evidence-based practice.
Design: Quantitative, Descriptive study.
Setting: Metropolitan area of New York.
Participants: A total of six nurses were involved at a time: two from antepartum, two from labor and delivery, and two from postpartum.
Methods: This included 45 minutes for completion of the CCTST, a one-hour lecture supplemented with PowerPoint slides and two studies, two hours engaged in the simulation, 30 minutes for debriefing, and 15 minutes for a post-CCTST.
Results: The test results indicated that there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores. A paired-samples t-test was used to examine the difference between pre-test and the post-test CCTST analysis scores, as reflected in Table 4. The analysis score increased from pre-test to post-test by 0.75 points; the difference between the scores was statistically significant (t(15) = -3.50, p \u3c .01).Simulation increased critical-thinking skills in perinatal nurses in all domains as measured by the CCTST overall scores and the scores in the areas of analysis, evaluation, inference, inductive reasoning, and deductive reasoning. Conclusion: The simulation was a successful EBP change project that increased nurses’ critical thinking and delivered and evaluated evidenced-based care to improve patient outcomes. Simulation increased critical-thinking skills in perinatal nurses
Application of Machine Learning Identification and Classification of Muturu and Keteku Cattle Species for a Smart Agricultural Practice in Developing Countries such as Nigeria
Smart technologies have drastically reshaped the traditional methods of practicing agriculture as witnessed in husbandry. In this paper, a novel application of machine learning identification and classification of Muturu and Keteku cattle species in Nigeria was proposed as the mainstream model that enables the precision and intelligence perception of animal husbandry for a smart agricultural practice using enhanced mask region-based convolutional neural networks (mask R-CNN). A performance accuracy of 0.92 mAP (mean Average Precision) was achieved by the enhanced mask R-CNN model, making it on a par with the existing models
Cattle Segmentation and Contour Detection Based on Solo for Precision Livestock Husbandry
Segmenting objects such as herd of cattle in natural and cluttered images is among the herculean dense prediction tasks of computer vision application to agriculture. To achieve the segmentation goal, we based the segmentation on the model of single objects by locations (SOLO) which is capable of exploiting the contextual cues and segmenting individual cattle by their locations and sizes. For its simple approach to instance segmentation with the use of instance categories, SOLO outperforms Mask R-CNN which uses detect-then-segment approach to predict a mask for each instance of cattle. The model is trained using synchronized stochastic gradient descent (SGD) over GPU to achieve a mAP of 0.94 making it 0.02 higher than the result recorded by the Mask R-CNN model. By using the focal loss, the proposed approach achieved 32.23 ADE on cattle contour detection making its performance better than the Mask R-CNN’s performance
Photothermal Bleaching of Nickel Dithiolene for Bright Multi-colored 3D Printed Parts
HP’s Multi Jet Fusion is a powder bed fusion 3D printing technology that utilizes a carbon-based radiation absorber
in combination with a near infrared (NIR) light source to facilitate the fusion of polymer powder in a layer-by-layer
fashion to generate 3D parts. Most available carbon-based and NIR radiation absorbers have an intrinsic dark color,
which as a result will only produce black/gray and dark colored parts. However, there are many applications that
require variable color, including prosthetics, medical models, and indicators, among others. To create white, bright
colored, and translucent parts with MJF, a visibly transparent and colorless radiation absorber is required. In this
paper, we designed an activating fusing agent (AFA) that contains a red, strong NIR absorbing dye that turns colorless
after harvesting irradiation energy during the MJF 3D printing process and provide a bright colored part when working
with other color agents.Mechanical Engineerin

Virtual assistants refer to artificial intelligence-based systems that offer help with any of a multiple of tasks. Virtual assistants are tools controlled by human; they are not meant to replace human. They are only invented to assist human in carrying out some of the day-today tasks and responsibilities. They allow human to invest their power and time on more impactful things. However, the application of this technological innovation is still very new, although some are home-based applications while some are work-based applications. This paper introduces virtual assistants as technological innovation meant to relieve both the business owners and their employees from stress and wastage

Measures on empirical logics and the properties of their associated dual Banach spaces
We show that various spaces of weights defined on a quasimanual are dual Banach spaces and we construct their preduals. We investigate what it means for these spaces of weights to have the Jordan-Hahn property. Lastly, we examine when a finitely-additive state can be decomposed into the sum of a countably-additive state and a purely finitely-additive state
