The criticality of implementation risk factors in CRM projects
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) remains an area of considerable interest in contemporary project management literature. For one, CRM projects are associated with a high failure rate. This research examined the criticality of four risk factors; âuser trainingâ; âtop management supportâ; âbusiness strategy and technology alignmentâ; and âeffective project feedbackâ. Quantitative data analysed using PASW17 was collected from a sample of two hundred and fifty CRM project practitioners. Although we find strong evidence to support the need for both scholars and practitioners to focus on these four risk factors, relatively weak explanation levels for three of these factors show the need to emphasise contact when examining risk factors in projects. It also shows that although some risk factors may be identified as âcriticalâ, they do not have equal impact weighting
The criticality of risk factors in CRM Projects
Customer relationship management (CRM) remains an area of considerable interest in contemporary project management literature, due to its association with high failure rates. This research examined the criticality of four risk factors. Quantitative data analyzed using PASW17 were collected from a sample of 250 CRM project practitioners. Although we found strong evidence to support the focus on these risk factors, which include âuser training,â âtop management support,â âbusiness strategy and technology alignment,â and âeffective project feedback,â the authors found that, although some risk factors may be identified as âcritical,â their criticality is dependent on the context of the project
