Student Acceptance of Blended Learning In Nigeria
This study explains the factors that influence the acceptance of blended learning and the level of
acceptance of the features of blended learning by undergraduate students in Landmark University.
Questionnaires were used as the data collection instrument and the acceptance of blended learning was
tested using UTAUT model. Data was analyzed using SPSS .Frequencies; Principal Component Analysis
and Regression Analysis were used in analysis. The study found that Performance expectance and
Facilitating conditions significantly influenced the acceptance of blended learning. In understanding the
acceptance of blended learning features, the student’s shows more interest in course-related readings
and course materials available on the learning management system and less interest on discussion with
lecturers and discussion with classmates. Performance expectancy was a major determinant on the
acceptance of blended learning by students. It was also discovered that there is no relationship between
the learning style of students and intention to adopt blended learning. This study has implications for
university administrators on the importance of academic improvement and supporting features in the
introduction of blended learning in educational institutions
Foreign Body (Metallic Flashlight Cover) in the Urinary Bladder Mimicking Advanced Cancer of the Cervix: Case Report and Review of the Literature
Foreign bodies in the urinary bladder are not uncommon, a great variety have been described, and most were self-inserted. We report the case of a 60-year-old widow who presented with irregular vaginal bleeding, urinary incontinence and terminal hematuria. On vaginal examination there wasan irregular cervical mass with the appearance of invasive carcinoma of the cervix, as well as a vesico-vaginal fistula. A plain abdominopelvic X-ray and ultrasound scan revealed a ring-like metallic object with the shape of a flashlight cover inside the bladder. Histological examination of biopsies taken from the cervical mass revealed only granulation tissue. The foreign body wasidentified as a flashlight head which was removed from the bladder via cystotomy
A survey of Reading Habit of Exchange Students of Government Secondary School, Ilorin and Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin Kwara State
The focus of this paper is on 'A survey of Reading Habit of Exchange Students of Government Secondary School, Ilorin and Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin Kwara State. The students were drawn from seventeen States in Northern Nigeria. Causes of low reading habits were identified, highlighted and identified and the effects on their low performance discussed. Questionnaire were administered on 188 respondents. It was recommended that government should implement the provision in the National Policy on Education (1981) by establishing school libraries and adequately equipping the existing ones.Teachers are to be given In-service Training on the organization and management of school libraries. Also both government and non-government organizations involved in readership promotion should collaborate with National Library of Nigeria in executing the program
Availability and Use of Information Resources in Medical Libraries by Pre-Clinical students in Selected Universities in Edo State
The main aim of the Study was to identify 'Availability and Use of Information Resources in Medical Libraries by Pre-Clinical students in Selected Universities in Edo State'384 respondents participated in the study. Questionnaire were used as instruments for data collection.Results were analyzed using simple percentages. Textbooks, dictionaries and journals are some of the available information resources in medical libraries studied.Low computer literacy to browse the internet was the major problem associated with the use of the information resources. The study conclude that creating an awareness of information resources is essential for maximum utilization of the information resources in the medical librarie
Availability and Use of School Libraries in Kwara Central Senatorial District.
The study was carried out in 107 schools in Kwara Central Senatorial districts to find out whether all the schools had libraries and whether students use them. 107 questionnaires were administered, 92 were returned.(85.9%) and used for this study. This study revealed that only 37% had school librarian while 63% had none. The study also revealed that the PTF and the ETF books supplied to these schools by the Ministry of Education were kept in the school stores or in the Principal's office.Recommendations were made to the Kwara State government on how to improve on the present situation
