I measured the nutritive ingredients included in "Ise-Hanpen" and the summarized results are as follows; 1) When"Ise-Hanpen(fish cake)" is made of fish meat, the volumes of carbohydrate, Na, K, Ca, P, Fe, Cu, and Zn in Ise-Hanpen increase and fat decreases. But protein is unchangeable. 2) Compared with the "handmade Hanpen" and "mass-produced Hanpen," the handmade Hanpen has much more protein, K, Mg and Zn than the mass-produced Hanpen but on the contrary, the mass-produced Hanpen has much more carbohydrate, Na, and Ca than the handmade one. There are no differences in the contents of fat between the handmade and mass-produced ones. 3) Compared with handmade Hanpen made of three kinds of fish, the volumes of protein, fat, Na, Ca, Mg, P, Fe, Cu and Zn in "Spanish mackerel-Hanpen" are higher than others, and the volume of carbohydrate in "Cod-Hanpen" is much higher than others. 4) Then, I added three kinds of dried vegetable powders into handmade "Spanish mackerel-Hanpen" and compared the transformation of the nutritive ingredients. The volumes of carbohydrate, K, Ca, P and Zn in the non-vegetable Hanpen are higher than others, and the volumes of Na, Mg, Fe and Cu in "Spinach-Hanpen" is higher than others. There are no differences between the contents of protein and fat in the non-vegetable and vegetable-included ones

Tuberculosis Suspect in the Companies in Semarang District Indonesia; Case-Control Study

In Semarang district, the population at the companies were 83120 workers. The number of smear positive cases in 2011 were 258 and 3898 suspected tuberculosis. Case-control study was conducted to analyze the risk of TB suspect infection among workers in the factory. We recruited 194 suspects and 197 controls who visited the factory clinic. The most common symptom was coughing with sputum (63 %) and then followed by malaise, chest pain, sweating at night, weight loss, dyspnea, anorexia, cough more than 2 weeks, sub febris and hemoptoe. Around 47 % both of the suspects and controls don't know received Bacillus Calmette-guérin (BCG) or not. The multivariate analysis showed the dominant factors that influence the occurrence of TB suspect, “education”, “income”, “ashamed of having TB”, “TB treatment is very costly”, and “share dish”.distribution of health education booklet to teachers and parents

Background: Functional neuroimaging studies suggest that prefrontal cortex dysfunction is present in people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Near-infrared spectroscopy is a noninvasive optical tool for examining oxygenation and hemodynamic changes in the cerebral cortex by measuring changes in oxygenated hemoglobin. Methods: Twelve drug-naïve male participants, aged 7-15 years and diagnosed with ASD according to DSM-5 criteria, and 12 age- and intelligence quotient (IQ)-matched healthy control males participated in the present study after giving informed consent. Relative concentrations of oxyhemoglobin were measured with frontal probes every 0.1 s during the Stroop color-word task, using 24-channel near-infrared spectroscopy. Results: Oxyhemoglobin changes during the Stroop color-word task in the ASD group were significantly smaller than those in the control group at channels 12 and 13, located over the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (FDR-corrected P: 0.0021-0.0063). Conclusion: The results suggest that male children with ASD have reduced prefrontal hemodynamic responses, measured with near-infrared spectroscopy.博士(医学)・乙第1442号・令和元年12月5日© The Author(s) 2019. Rpd3/CoRest-mediated activity-dependent transcription regulates the flexibility in memory updating in Drosophila

Consolidated memory can be preserved or updated depending on the environmental change. Although such conflicting regulation may happen during memory updating, the flexibility of memory updating may have already been determined in the initial memory consolidation process. Here, we explored the gating mechanism for activity-dependent transcription in memory consolidation, which is unexpectedly linked to the later memory updating in Drosophila. Through proteomic analysis, we discovered that the compositional change in the transcriptional repressor, which contains the histone deacetylase Rpd3 and CoRest, acts as the gating mechanism that opens and closes the time window for activity-dependent transcription. Opening the gate through the compositional change in Rpd3/CoRest is required for memory consolidation, but closing the gate through Rpd3/CoRest is significant to limit future memory updating. Our data indicate that the flexibility of memory updating is determined through the initial activity-dependent transcription, providing a mechanism involved in defining memory state

Juvenile Granulosa Cell Tumor with an Unusual Clinical Course: A Late-onset and Late Recurrent Case

    Get PDF
Juvenile granulosa cell tumors (JGCTs) are rare ovarian tumors with overall good prognoses. They differ from adult granulosa cell tumors (AGCTs), which are well known for late recurrence. Most JGCTs (~97%) occur in individuals G missense point mutation of FOXL2 gene (characteristic of AGCT but absent in JGCT) allowed differentiation from AGCT. This is the first comprehensive report of JGCT with late recurrence. Although rare, late recurrence of JGCT can occur; long-term surveillance is suggested

Changes of Myelin Organization in Patients with Alzheimer’s Disease Shown by q-Space Myelin Map Imaging

Background: Recent studies detected the aberrant myelination of the central nervous system (CNS) in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Here, we compared the change of myelination between patients with AD and controls by a novel magnetic resonance imaging modality, “q-space myelin map (MM) imaging.” Methods: Twenty patients with AD and 18 healthy subjects underwent MM imaging. We compared the MM metric between the 2 groups and examined the relationships between the metric and the clinical symptoms of AD. Results: AD patients showed a significant reduction of MM metric in the hippocampus, insula, precuneus, and anterior cingulate regions. There was also a significant negative correlation between the duration of illness and the MM metric in the temporoparietal region. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that MM imaging could be a clinically proper modality to estimate the myelination changes in AD patients
