    Search for CP Violation in the Decays D0KS0P0D^0\rightarrow K^0_S P^0

    We have searched for CP violation in the decays D0KS0P0D^0\rightarrow K^0_S P^0 where P0P^0 denotes a neutral pseudo-scalar meson which is either a π0\pi^0, η\eta, or η\eta' using KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 791 fb1^{-1} collected with the Belle detector. No evidence of significant CP violation is observed. We report the most precise CP asymmetry measurement in the decay D0KS0π0D^0\rightarrow K^0_S\pi^0 to date: ACPD0KS0π0=(0.28±0.19±0.10)A_{CP}^{D^0\rightarrow K^0_S\pi^0}=(-0.28\pm0.19\pm0.10)%. We also report the first measurements of CP asymmetries in the decays D0KS0ηD^0\rightarrow K^0_S\eta and D0KS0ηD^0\rightarrow K^0_S\eta': ACPD0KS0η=(+0.54±0.51±0.16)A_{CP}^{D^0\rightarrow K^0_S\eta}=(+0.54\pm0.51\pm0.16)% and ACPD0KS0η=(+0.98±0.67±0.14)A_{CP}^{D^0\rightarrow K^0_S\eta'}=(+0.98\pm0.67\pm0.14)%, respectively

    Search for the X(1812) in B±K±ωϕB^{\pm} \to K^{\pm} \omega \phi

    We report on a search for the X(1812) state in the decay B±K±ωϕB^{\pm} \to K^{\pm} \omega \phi with a data sample of 657×106657\times10^6 BBˉB\bar{B} pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+ee^+e^- collider. No significant signal is observed. An upper limit B(B±K±X(1812),X(1812)ωϕ)<3.2×107{\cal B}(B^{\pm} \to K^{\pm} X(1812),X(1812) \to \omega \phi)<3.2\times 10^{-7} (90% C.L.) is determined. We also constrain the three-body decay branching fraction to be B(B±K±ωϕ){\cal B}(B^{\pm} \to K^{\pm} \omega \phi) << 1.9 ×106\times 10^{-6} (90% C.L.).Comment: 5pages,2 figures(3 figure files). submitted to PRD(RC

    Measurement of Time-Dependent CP-Violating Parameters in B0 -> K0S K0S decays

    We report a measurement of the CP-violating parameters in B0->K0S K0S decays based on a data sample of 657 million BBbar pairs collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. In this study, one neutral B meson is fully reconstructed in the B0->K0S K0S decay mode, and the flavor of the accompanying B meson is identified by its decay products. The CP-violating parameters are measured from the asymmetry in the distributions of the proper-time interval between the two B decays: S = -0.38 +0.69-0.77(stat) +-0.09(syst) and A = -0.38 +-0.38(stat) +-0.05(syst).Comment: 5pages, 2figures, submitted to PR

    Dalitz analysis of B --> K pi psi' decays and the Z(4430)+

    From a Dalitz plot analysis of B --> K pi psi' decays, we find a signal for Z(4430)+ --> pi+ psi' with a mass M= (4443(+15-12)(+19-13))MeV/c^2, width Gamma= (107(+86-43)(+74-56))MeV, product branching fraction BR(B0 --> K- Z(4430)+) x BR(Z(4430)+ --> pi+ psi')= (3.2(+1.8-0.9)(+5.3-1.6)) x 10^{-5}, and significance of 6.4sigma that agrees with previous Belle measurements based on the same data sample. In addition, we determine the branching fraction BR(B^0 --> K*(892)^0 psi')= (5.52(+0.35-0.32)(+0.53-0.58)) x 10^{-4} and the fraction of K*(892)^0 mesons that are longitudinally polarized f_L= 44.8(+4.0-2.7)(+4.0-5.3)%. These results are obtained from a 605fb^{-1} data sample that contains 657 million B-anti-B pairs collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+e- collider.Comment: Final version published in PRD(RC

    Bounds on the width, mass difference and other properties of X(3872) --> pi+pi-J/psi decays

    We present results from a study of X(3872) --> pi+pi- J/psi decays produced via exclusive B--> K X(3872) decays. We determine the mass to be M_X(3872)= (3871.84\pm 0.27 (stat)\pm 0.19 (syst)) MeV, a 90% CL upper limit on the natural width of Gamma_X(3872) K+X(3872))xBf(X(3872)-->pi+pi-J/psi)=(8.61 \pm 0.82(stat) \pm 0.52 (syst)) x10^{-6}, and a ratio of branching fractions Bf(B0--> K0 X(3872))/BF(B+--> K+ X(3872))=0.50\pm 0.14(stat)\pm0.04(syst). The difference in mass between the X(3872)-->pi+pi-J/psi signals in B+ and B0 decays is Delta M_{X(3872)= (-0.69 \pm 0.97 (stat)} \pm 0.19 (syst)) MeV. A search for a charged partner of the X(3872) in the decays Bbar0-->K- X+ or B+-->K0X+, X+-->pi+pi0 J/psi resulted in upper limits on the product branching fractions for these processes that are well below expectations for the case that the X(3872) is the neutral member of an isospin triplet. In addition, we examine possible J^{PC} quantum number assignments for the X(3872) based on comparisons of angular correlations between final state particles in X(3872)-->pi+pi-J/psi decays with simulated data for J^{PC} values of 1^{++} and 2^{-+}. We examine the influence of rho-omega interference in the M(pi+pi-) spectrum. The analysis is based on a 711fb^{-1} data sample that contains 772 million BBbar meson pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance in the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider.Comment: 15 pages, 10 figures and 6 tables.     Study of the BX(3872)(D0Dˉ0)KB\to X(3872)(\to D^{*0}\bar D^0)K decay

    We present a study of BX(3872)KB\to X(3872)K with X(3872) decaying to D0Dˉ0D^{*0}\bar D^0 using a sample of 657 million BBˉB\bar B pairs recorded at the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collider. Both D0D0γD^{*0}\to D^0\gamma and D0D0π0D^{*0}\to D^0\pi^0 decay modes are used. We find a peak of 50.111.1+14.850.1^{+14.8}_{-11.1} events with a mass of (3872.90.40.5+0.6+0.4)MeV/c2(3872.9^{+0.6 +0.4}_{-0.4 -0.5}){\rm MeV}/c^2, a width of (3.91.41.1+2.8+0.2)MeV/c2(3.9^{+2.8 +0.2}_{-1.4 -1.1}){\rm MeV}/c^2 and a product branching fraction B(BX(3872)K)×B(X(3872)D0Dˉ0)=(0.80±0.20±0.10)×104{\cal B}(B\to X(3872)K)\times{\cal B}(X(3872)\to D^{*0}\bar D^0)=(0.80\pm0.20\pm0.10)\times10^{-4}, where the first errors are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The significance of the signal is 6.4σ6.4\sigma. The difference between the fitted mass and the D0Dˉ0D^{*0}\bar D^0 threshold is calculated to be (1.10.40.3+0.6+0.1)MeV/c2(1.1^{+0.6 +0.1}_{-0.4 -0.3}){\rm MeV}/c^2. We also obtain an upper limit on the product of branching fractions B(BY(3940)K)×B(Y(3940)D0Dˉ0){\cal B}(B\to Y(3940)K)\times{\cal B}(Y(3940)\to D^{*0}\bar D^0) of 0.67×1040.67\times10^{-4} at 90% CL.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, BELLE-CONF-0832 contributed to ICHEP 2008, revised and submitted to Phys.     Precise measurement of hadronic tau-decays with an eta meson

    We have studied hadronic tau decay modes involving an eta meson using 490 fb^{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The following branching fractions have been measured: B(tau- -> K- eta nu)=(1.58 +- 0.05 +- 0.09)x 10^{-4}, B(tau- -> K- pi0 eta nu)=(4.6 +- 1.1 +- 0.4)x 10^{-5}, B(tau- -> pi- pi0 eta nu)=(1.35 +- 0.03 +- 0.07)x 10^{-3}, B(tau- -> pi- KS eta nu)=(4.4 +- 0.7 +- 0.2)x 10^{-5}, and B(tau- -> K^{*-} eta nu)=(1.34 +- 0.12 +- 0.09)x 10^{-4}. These results are substantially more precise than previous measurements. The new measurements are compared with theoretical calculations based on the CVC hypothesis or the chiral perturbation theory. We also set upper limits on branching fractions for tau decays into K- KS eta nu, pi- KS pi0 eta nu, K- eta eta nu, pi- eta eta nu and non-resonant K- pi^0 eta nu final states.Comment: 24 pages, 7 figure

    Observation of the ϕ(1680)\phi(1680) and the Y(2175) in e+eϕπ+πe^+ e^- \to \phi\pi^+\pi^-

    The cross sections for e+eϕπ+πe^+ e^- \to \phi\pi^+\pi^- and e^+ e^- \to \phi \fzero are measured from threshold to s=3.0\sqrt{s}=3.0 GeV\hbox{GeV} using initial state radiation. The analysis is based on a data sample of 673 fb1^{-1} collected on and below the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collider. First measurements are reported for the resonance parameters of the ϕ(1680)\phi(1680) in the ϕπ+π\phi\pi^+\pi^- mode: m=(1689±7±10)m=(1689\pm 7\pm 10) MeV/c2c^2 and Γ=(211±14±19)\Gamma=(211\pm 14\pm 19) MeV/c2c^2. A structure at s=2.1GeV/c2\sqrt{s}=2.1 \hbox{GeV}/c^2, corresponding to the so called Y(2175), is observed; its mass and width are determined to be 2079±1328+792079\pm13^{+79}_{-28} MeV/c2c^2 and 192±2361+25MeV/c2192\pm23^{+25}_{-61} \hbox{MeV}/c^2, respectively.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figures.     Measurement Of |V_ub| From Inclusive Charmless Semileptonic B Decays

    We present the partial branching fraction for inclusive charmless semileptonic B decays and the corresponding value of the CKM matrix element |Vub|, using a multivariate analysis method to access ~90% of the B -> Xu l nu phase space. This approach dramatically reduces the theoretical uncertainties from the b-quark mass and non-perturbative QCD compared to all previous inclusive measurements. The results are based on a sample of 657 million B -Bbar pairs collected with the Belle detector. We find that Delta BR(B -> Xu l nu; p^*B_l>1.0 GeV/c=1.963 x (1 +/- 0.088(stat.) +/- 0.081(sys.)) x 10^-3.     Evidence for a new resonance and search for the Y(4140) in γγϕJ/ψ\gamma \gamma \to \phi J/\psi

    The process \gamma \gamma \to \phi \jpsi is measured for \phi \jpsi masses between threshold and 5 GeV/c2{\it c}^2, using a data sample of 825 fb1^{-1} collected with the Belle detector. A narrow peak of 8.83.2+4.28.8^{+4.2}_{-3.2} events, with a significance of 3.2 standard deviations including systematic uncertainty, is observed. The mass and natural width of the structure (named X(4350)) are measured to be (4350.65.1+4.6(stat)±0.7(syst))MeV/c2(4350.6^{+4.6}_{-5.1}(\rm{stat})\pm 0.7(\rm{syst})) \hbox{MeV}/{\it c}^2 and (139+18(stat)±4(syst))MeV(13^{+18}_{-9}(\rm{stat})\pm 4(\rm{syst})) \hbox{MeV}, respectively. The product of its two-photon decay width and branching fraction to \phi\jpsi is (6.72.4+3.2(stat)±1.1(syst))eV(6.7^{+3.2}_{-2.4}(\rm{stat}) \pm 1.1(\rm{syst})) \hbox{eV} for JP=0+J^P=0^+, or (1.50.6+0.7(stat)±0.3(syst))eV(1.5^{+0.7}_{-0.6}(\rm{stat}) \pm 0.3(\rm{syst})) \hbox{eV} for JP=2+J^P=2^+. No signal for the Y(4140)\to \phi \jpsi structure reported by the CDF Collaboration in B\to K^+ \phi \jpsi decays is observed, and limits of \Gamma_{\gamma \gamma}(Y(4140)) \BR(Y(4140)\to\phi \jpsi)<41 \hbox{eV} for JP=0+J^P=0^+ or <6.0eV<6.0 \hbox{eV} for JP=2+J^P=2^+ are determined at the 90% C.L.
