    The Brightest Cluster Galaxy in Abell 85: The Largest Core Known so far

    We have found that the brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) in Abell~85, Holm 15A, displays the largest core so far known. Its cusp radius, rγ=4.57±0.06r_{\gamma} = 4.57 \pm 0.06 kpc (4.26′′±0.06′′4.26^{\prime\prime}\pm 0.06^{\prime\prime}), is more than 18 times larger than the mean for BCGs, and ≥1\geq1 kpc larger than A2261-BCG, hitherto the largest-cored BCG (Postman, Lauer, Donahue, et al. 2012) Holm 15A hosts the luminous amorphous radio source 0039-095B and has the optical signature of a LINER. Scaling laws indicate that this core could host a supermassive black hole (SMBH) of mass M∙∼(109−1011) M⊙M_{\bullet}\thicksim (10^{9}-10^{11})\,M_{\odot}.     Synthesis and characterization of a click-assembled 18-atom macrocycle that displays selective AXL kinase inhibitory activity

    A novel macrocyclic construct consisting of a pyrazolopyrimidine scaffold concatenated to a benzene ring through two triazoles has been developed to investigate uncharted chemical space with bioactive potential. The 18-atom macrocycle was assembled via a double copper-catalyzed alkyne−azide cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction between 1,3- bis(azidomethyl)benzene and a bis-propargylated pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine core. The resulting macrocycle was functionalized further into a multicyclic analog that displays selective inhibitory activity against the receptor tyrosine kinase AXL.O.C.-L. and B.L. thank Spain Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport and the Erasmus + Traineeship programme for funding, respectively.     International audienceThe evolution of the ULF resonant structure observed at Teoloyucan geomagnetic station has been provisionally studied in a possible relation with seismic activity in Mexico in the period 1999-2001. Two resonant lines were observed in the H-component (linear polarization) in the frequency bands fR2=10.2?11.1 mHz and fR2=13.6?14.5 mHz, sometimes accompanied by other harmonics. The source of the observed resonances is possibly related with the geomagnetic location of the station (geomagnetic latitude ?=29.1°) and its proximity to the equatorial electrojet (?~30°). An enhancement of the carrier frequency of both resonances in the period 1 month?2 weeks was found before the strongest EQs. Also, a depression of the resonant structure just a few days before and a few days after some EQs seems to be correlated with seismic activity
