Pairs-Production of Higgs in Association with Bottom Quarks Pairs at e+ee^+e^- Colliders

In a previous paper, we studied the Higgs pair production in the standard model with the reaction e+ettˉHHe^{+}e^{-}\to t \bar t HH. Based on this, we study the Higgs pair production via e+ebbˉHHe^{+}e^{-}\to b \bar b HH. We evaluate the total cross section of bbˉHHb\bar bHH and calculate the number total of events considering the complete set of Feynman diagrams at tree-level, and compare this process with the process e+ettˉHHe^{+}e^{-}\to t \bar t HH. The numerical computation is done for the energy which is expected to be available at a possible Next Linear e+ee^{+}e^{-} Collider with a center-of-mass energy 800,1000,1600800, 1000, 1600 GeVGeV and luminosity 1000 fb1fb^{-1}.Comment: 12 pages, 6 figure

Surface location of sodium atoms attached to He-3 nanodroplets

We have experimentally studied the electronic 3p3s3p\leftarrow 3s excitation of Na atoms attached to 3^3He droplets by means of laser-induced fluorescence as well as beam depletion spectroscopy. From the similarities of the spectra (width/shift of absorption lines) with these of Na on 4^4He droplets, we conclude that sodium atoms reside in a ``dimple'' on the droplet surface. The experimental results are supported by Density Functional calculations at zero temperature, which confirm the surface location of sodium on 3^3He droplets, and provide a microscopic description of the ``dimple'' structure.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figure

Analysis of the quark sector in the 2HDM-III with a four-zero Yukawa texture using the most recent data on the CKM matrix

In this letter we analyse, in the context of the general 2-Higgs Doublet Model, the structure of the Yukawa matrices, Y~1,2q\widetilde{ \bf Y}_{ _{1,2} }^{q}, by assuming a four-zero texture ansatz for their definition. In this framework, we obtain compact expressions for Y~1,2q\widetilde{ \bf Y}_{ _{1,2} }^{q}, which are reduced to the Cheng and Sher ansatz with the difference that they are obtained naturally as a direct consequence of the invariants of the fermion mass matrices. Furthermore, in order to avoid large flavour violating effects coming from charged Higgs exchange, we consider the main flavour constraints on the off-diagonal terms of Yukawa texture {{(χ~jq)kl\left( \widetilde{\chi}_{j}^q \right)_{kl}}} (klk\neq l). We perform a χ2\chi^2-fit based on current experimental data on the quark masses and the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa mixing matrix VCKM{ \bf V}_{\rm CKM }. Hence, we obtain the allowed ranges for the parameters Y~1,2q\widetilde{ \bf Y}_{ _{1,2} }^{q} at 1σ\sigma for several values of tanβ\tan \beta. The results are in complete agreement with the bounds obtained taking into account constraints on Flavour Changing Neutral Currents reported in the literature.Comment: 12 pages, 1 figure. Leptons masses in an SU(3)LU(1)NSU(3)_L\otimes U(1)_N Gauge Model

The SU(3)cSU(3)LU(1)NSU(3)_c\otimes SU(3)_L\otimes U(1)_N model of Pisano and Pleitez extends the Standard Model in a particularly nice way, so that for example the anomalies cancel only when the number of generations is divisible by three. The original version of the model has some problems accounting for the lepton masses. We resolve this problem by modifying the details of the symmetry breaking sector in the model.Comment: Latex, 7 pages revised version of preprint McGill/92-31 (We have corrected some typos and expanded the explanation of the Higgs potential analysis and introduced discrete symmetries which assure that neutrinos remain massless.
