Unpolarised Transverse Momentum Dependent Distribution and Fragmentation Functions from SIDIS Multiplicities
The unpolarised transverse momentum dependent distribution and fragmentation
functions are extracted from HERMES and COMPASS experimental measurements of
SIDIS multiplicities for charged hadron production. The data are grouped into
independent bins of the kinematical variables, in which the TMD factorisation
is expected to hold. A simple factorised functional form of the TMDs is
adopted, with a Gaussian dependence on the intrinsic transverse momentum, which
turns out to be quite adequate in shape. HERMES data do not need any
normalisation correction, while fits of the COMPASS data much improve with a
-dependent overall normalisation factor. A comparison of the extracted TMDs
with previous EMC and JLab data confirms the adequacy of the simple Gaussian
distributions. The possible role of the TMD evolution is briefly considered.Comment: 21 pages, 16 figure
Perturbative QCD Forbidden Charmonium Decays and Gluonia
We address the problem of observed charmonium decays which should be
forbidden in perturbative QCD. We examine the model in which these decays
proceed through a gluonic component of the and the , arising
from a mixing of and glueball states. We give some bounds on the
values of the mixing angles and propose the study of the reaction, at GeV, as an independent test of the

Q^2 dependence of azimuthal asymmetries in semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering and in Drell-Yan
We study several azimuthal asymmetries in semi-inclusive deep inelastic
scattering and in Drell-Yan, interpreting them in the framework of the
formalism of the quark correlator, with a particular reference to T-odd
functions. The correlator contains an undetermined energy scale, which we fix
on the basis of a simple and rather general argument. We find a different value
than the one assumed in previous treatments of T-odd functions. This implies
different predictions on the Q^2 dependence of the above mentioned asymmetries.
Our result about the azimuthal asymmetry of unpolarized Drell-Yan agrees with
presently available data, contrary to the alternative assumption on the scale.
Predictions on other azimuthal asymmetries could be tested against data of
planned experiments on Drell-Yan and semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering.Comment: 37 pages, 7 figure
Collins functions for pions from SIDIS and new e+e- data: a first glance at their transverse momentum dependence
New data from Belle and BaBar Collaborations on azimuthal asymmetries,
measured in e+e- annihilations into pion pairs at Q^2=112 GeV^2, allow to take
the first, direct glance at the transverse momentum dependence of the Collins
functions, in addition to their z dependence. These data, together with
available Semi-Inclusive Deep Inelastic Scattering (SIDIS) data on the Collins
asymmetry, are simultaneously analysed in the framework of the generalised
parton model assuming two alternative Q^2 evolution schemes and exploiting two
different parameterisations for the Collins functions. The corresponding
results for the transversity distributions are presented. Analogous data, newly
released by the BESIII Collaboration, on e+e- annihilations into pion pairs at
the lower Q^2 of 13 GeV^2, offer the possibility to explore the sensitivity of
these azimuthal correlations on transverse momentum dependent evolution

Single transverse-spin asymmetry in Drell-Yan lepton angular distribution
We calculate a single transverse-spin asymmetry for the Drell-Yan
lepton-pair's angular distribution in perturbative QCD. At leading order in the
strong coupling constant, the asymmetry is expressed in terms of a twist-3
quark-gluon correlation function T_F^{(V)}(x_1,x_2). In our calculation, the
same result was obtained in both light-cone and covariant gauge in QCD, while
keeping explicit electromagnetic current conservation for the virtual photon
that decays into the lepton pair. We also present a numerical estimate of the
asymmetry and compare the result to an existing other prediction.Comment: 15 pages, Revtex, 5 Postscript figures, uses aps.sty, epsfig.st
The high-energy hadron spin-flip amplitude at small momentum transfer and new AN data from RHIC
In the case of elastic high-energy hadron-hadron scattering, the impact of
the large-distance contributions on the behaviour of the slopes of the
spin-non-flip and of the spin-flip amplitudes is analysed. It is shown that the
long tail of the hadronic potential in impact parameter space leads to a value
of the slope of the reduced spin-flip amplitude larger than that of the
spin-non-flip amplitude. This effect is taken into account in the calculation
of the analysing power in proton-nucleus reactions at high energies. It is
shown that the preliminary measurement of AN obtained by the E950 Collaboration
indeed favour a spin-flip-amplitude with a large slope. Predictions for AN at
pL = 250 GeV/c are given.Comment: 16 pages, 5 figures, a few typos fixed in v.
A Gravitational Potential with Extra-dimensions and Spin Effects In Hadronic Reactions
The impact of the KK-modes in d-brane models of gravity with large
compactification radii and TeV-scale quantum gravity on the hadronic potential
at small impact parameters is examined. The effects of the gravitational
hadronic form factors obtained from the generalized parton distributions (GPDs)
on the behavior of the gravitational potential and the possible spin

Extraction of the pion distribution amplitude from polarized muon pair production
We consider the production of muon pairs from the scattering of pions on
longitudinally polarized protons. We calculate the cross section and the single
spin asymmetry for this process, taking into account pion bound state effects.
We work in the kinematic region where the photon has a large longitudinal
momentum fraction, which allows us to treat the bound state problem
perturbatively. Our predictions are directly proportional to the pion
distribution amplitude. A measurement of the polarized Drell-Yan cross section
thus allows the determination of the shape of the pion distribution amplitude.Comment: 13 pages, using revtex, two figures added separately as one uuencoded

A Spectator-Quark-Model for the Photoproduction of Kaons
A simple model for the photoproduction of kaons off protons with a lambda
hyperon in the final state is presented. In a quark model, the interaction is
modelled by the pair-creation of the (anti-) strange quarks in the final state
which recombine with the three quarks of the proton to form the lambda and
kaon. The calculated scattering cross sections for photon energies up to
E_\gamma = 1.9 \; \mbox{GeV} are compared to experiment. The pair-creation
