Literature review and clinical observation of acquired idiopathic hemophilia with a new missense mutation in the factor VIII gene (His2026Arg)
The article provides review of possible mechanisms of inhibitor coagulopathies, in particular of acquired hemophilia A. This pathology is an extremely rare disease occurring in 1-2 cases in 1 million per year. In the present study we provide data for two clinical cases of hemophilia A in women. These cases had different development mechanisms, although both women have a newly discovered missense mutation His2026Arg in the VIII factor gene. The matter of main interest is the description of the disease development in the patient with an acquired idiopathic hemophilia A with a possible disease occurrence due to an asymmetric X-chromosome inactivation (lyonization). In this particular case lyonization led to the late manifestation of the hemophilia A carrierβs state and development of severe form of the inhibitor-associated acquired hemophilia A. We also discuss therapeutic approaches to these forms of the disease, considering there are no concise protocols for case management due to an extreme rarity of the pathology. Acquainting the clinical personnel working it the different areas of medicine with suchlike inhibitor coagulopathies has a major practical importance
Building professional discourse in emerging markets: Language, context and the challenge of sensemaking
Using ethnographic evidence from the former Soviet republics, this article examines a relatively new and mainly unobserved in the International Business (IB) literature phenomenon of communication disengagement that manifests itself in many emerging markets. We link it to the deficiencies of the local professional business discourse rooted in language limitations reflecting lack of experience with the market economy. This hampers cognitive coherence between foreign and local business entities, adding to the liability of foreignness as certain instances of professional experience fail to find adequate linguistic expression, and complicates cross-cultural adjustments causing multi-national companies (MNCs) financial losses. We contribute to the IB literature by examining cross-border semantic sensemaking through a retrospectively constructed observational study. We argue that a relative inadequacy of the national professional idiom is likely to remain a feature of business environment in post-communist economies for some time and therefore should be factored into business strategies of MNCs. Consequently, we recommend including discursive hazards in the risk evaluation of international projects
Development of a glossary of energy economics
In the master thesis a terminological glossary of energy economics was developed. Actuality of the research is determined by the necessity to compile a logically structured glossary of the energy economy, corresponding to the current developmentsin this industry, and very fragmented information relating to it. The object of the research is the German-language terminological units of the subject area energy economy (Gr.: ENERGIEWIRTSCHAFT) with translation into Russian. Theoretical significance: extensive materials related to the problems of the classification of terminology and the development of a glossarywas analyzed and systematized, a sequential algorithm for working on its compilationwas also described. Practical significance is based on the fact that the developed glossary performs both informational and educational functions, so it can be used in working with students of language specialties in practical classes on the translation of special texts.Π ΠΌΠ°Π³ΠΈΡΡΠ΅ΡΡΠΊΠΎΠΉ Π΄ΠΈΡΡΠ΅ΡΡΠ°ΡΠΈΠΈ ΡΠ°Π·ΡΠ°Π±ΠΎΡΠ°Π½ ΡΠ΅ΡΠΌΠΈΠ½ΠΎΠ»ΠΎΠ³ΠΈΡΠ΅ΡΠΊΠΈΠΉ Π³Π»ΠΎΡΡΠ°ΡΠΈΠΉ ΡΠΊΠΎΠ½ΠΎΠΌΠΈΠΊΠΈ ΡΠ½Π΅ΡΠ³Π΅ΡΠΈΠΊΠΈ. Factors for remodeling and diastolic myocardial dysfunction in postmenopausal women with diabetes and hypertension
Identification of common and new rare types of weak RhD antigen in patients with blood diseases and healthy person
Background. Rhesus phenotype has been determined in 404 persons which have problems with blood groups identification. Genetic typing of antigen RhD variants was performed in 73 individuals. Objective of the work was to give molecular and serological characteristics of the antigen RhD weak types.Materials and methods. Method of rhesus phenotype determination in direct agglutination test on plane by using of anti-D, anti-C, anti-c, anti-Cw, anti-E and anti-e monoclonal antibodies; gel method of rhesus phenotype determination; methods of genetic typing of RhD; methods of antigen RhD determination in the classic indirect antiglobulin test and in the gel indirect antiglobulin test; method of antigen RhD determination in the saline agglutination test.Results. Serological methods identified 73 red blood samples with the weakened expression of RhD antigen. Molecular methods showed the reasons of weakness of antigen expression. Three RHD*D weak types which are common in Russians (RHD*D weak type 1β3) were identified and for the first time 3 types were found β RHD*D weak type 67, RHD(G255R) and RHD(JVS5-38del4). Serological characteristic of RhD weak types was given. It was shown that combined using of monoclonal antibodies in direct agglutination test and in gel is the most effective serological method of the antigen variants detection. Red blood cells with weak RhD antigens can be recognized by weakness or absence of agglutination with monoclonal antibodies on plane if agglutination in gel was 3+4+.Conclusion. Concrete weak RhD variants can be determined only by genetic typing. Serologically weak antigen variants can be detected by using of at least two series of monoclonal antibodies or by using of two different methods (it is preferable)
Vegetative dystonia in pediatric practice
The problem of vegetative dystonia in children and adolescents is relevant in view of the high incidence and risk of transformation into an organic pathology. According to most researchers, many serious chronic diseases have their roots in childhood and adolescence. This applies primarily to diseases of the cardiovascular system, such as hypertension or coronary heart disease in adults
Locating Stable Across Environment QTL Involved in the Determination of Agronomic Characters in Wheat
The International Triticeae Mapping Initiative (ITMI) recombinant inbred line (RIL) population was used to detect quantitative trait loci (QTL) underlying some key agronomic characters in bread wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.). Trait measurements were taken from five independent field experiments performed in Serbia. Stable across environment QTL involved in the determination of heading/flowering time and ear morphology/grain yield were detected on, respectively, chromosome arms 2DS and 4AL. These map locations are consistent with those obtained where the same population has been grown in contrasting geographical sites. However, as a result of QTL x environment interactions, not all these QTL are expressed in all environments. Nevertheless the ( pleiotropic) effect on ear morphology appears to be expressed in almost all environments, and so represents a high value target for wheat improvement
INFORMATIONAL PORTAL Β«PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGYΒ» β INTERNET RESOURCE TO SUPPORT EXPERIMENTS IN PLANT GENE ENGINEERING, GENETICS AND WHEAT BREEDING
New Internet-resource to support the research in plant biotechnology is presented. This Internet portal contains specialized modules (databases and software) and allows users to combine these modules to solve various tasks as well as it permits the further resource development by addition of new modules. Currently the resource contains the database of external informational sources, the database on promoters for plant transgenesis, the database on translational enhancers for plant transgenesis, and the database WheatPGE to support the experiments in a wheat breeding. The resource is available at ICG www-site (http://bioagrotech.bionet.nsc.ru/)
