    Chemical medicine which are synthetic chemicals or isolation products must not be added to herbal medicine, that was standared by Indonesian Head of the Drug and Food Control Agency in statement regarding Criteria and Procedure for Registration of Traditional Medicines, Standardized Herbal Medicines, and Phytofarmaka. This study aims to develope prototype of paper-based color test-strip to identify paracetamol trace in several types of Indonesian herbal medicine, better known as Jamu. Research conducted with experimental research wich make paper test-strip prototype by immobilizing reagents into Whatman’s filter paper, then it used to identify paracetamol in extracted Jamu samples. The paracetamol qualitative test uses 10 Jamu samples that distributed in Samarinda area. were also carried out on. Comparison methode with qualitative color reaction tests using specific reagents in the laboratory were also carried out beside the paper-based color test-strip methode. In addition with positive control tests using 5000 ppm paracetamol solution to make sure both methode used are valid. The results of this study showed that two prototype paper-based color test-strips containing 10% iron (III) chloride reagent and folin ciocalteu were able to detect the presence of paracetamol chemicals in Jamu samples with color reaction

    The tabar kedayan (Aristolochia foveolata Merr) plant located in the Malinau district of East Kalimantan has considerable biological active prospects as antioxidant, antibacterial, antiamuba, anti-inflammatory, antihepatotoxic and antiviral. One of the secondary metabolites in this plant is the flavonoids that can be used as antioxidants.The aim of this research are to analyze total flavonoid content of root tabar kedayan in fractionation with various nonpolar, semipolar and polar solvents. The analysis used in the determination of total flavonoid content using spectrophotometric method. Data of analysis used standard curve method based on absorbance data and concentration of standard solution. The results of this study obtained the highest total flavonoid average on ethyl acetate fraction of 1,09%±0,03 then n-hexane fraction of 0,52%±0,05 and the smallest level of ethanol-water fraction of 0,40%±0,03

    Indonesian is still very dependent of soybean imports, so as to reduce the use of soybean need to find substitute materials in the manufacture of soybean. Corn can be an option because apart from being a source of carbohydrates, corn is also an important source of protein in the menu society in Indonesia. The purpose of this study to determine the levels of soybean protein maize (Zea mays) with a combination of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) with visible of spectrophotometry. The research design uses a comparison of corn: soybean as follows: P1 = 80: 20; P2 = 70: 30; P3 = 50: 50; P4 = 30: 70 and P5 = 20: 80. The results of this study indicate that P1 has a protein content of 6.7%, P2 = 8.06% = 10.76% P3, P4 and P5 = 13.46% = 14.8%. The greater the concentration ratio of soy protein obtained even greater.     Serunai (Chromolaena odorata L.) is a medicinal plant, including the Asteraceae family. Serunai is used to treat wounds, mouthwash to treat sore throats, coughs, malaria drugs, headache medications, antidiarrheals, antimicrobials, antispasmodics, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory and diuretic agents. Serunai plants contain chemical compounds tannins, phenols, flavonoids, saponins and steroids. The purpose of this study was to determine the total phenolic content of the leaves of serunai using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. The stages of the research include plant determination, sampling, making of simplicia leaf of serunai, making extract by maceration method, phenolic compound test, determination of total phenolic levels by UV-Vis spectrophotometry with Folin-Ciocalteu reagent, comparing gallic acid. The results obtained by an average of total phenolic levels of ethanol extract of serunai is 171.30368 ± 1.9694 mg GAE / g means that in every gram of ethanol extract of flattened leaves is equivalent to 171,30368 mg gallic acid

    Tetracycline HCl is one of the most commonly used antibiotics in fish farming that aims to control diseases caused by bacteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence and the level of tetracycline HCl antibiotic residue in freshwater fishes sold at the Segiri traditional market. The method used in this research was a standard addition ultraviolet spectrophotometry. The results showed that residue level of tetracycline HCl in freshwater fish is 192,067 μg/g – 257,409 μg/g. These result was far exceeded the maximum residue level of tetracycline class antibiotics in meat and dairy based on SNI 01-6366-2000 that limit the residue not higher than 0.1 μg/

    Isolasi dan karakterisasi stigmasterol dalam tanaman purwoceng (Pimpinella alpina Molk)

    Tanaman purwoceng (Pimpinella alpina Molk) selama ini telah dikenal sebagai obat penggugah seksual (afrodisiak) dan obat peluruh air seni (diuretik). Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan isolasi dan karakterisasi senyawa metabolit sekunder dari purwoceng. Isolasi senyawa dilakukan melalui metode ekstraksi dengan pelarut n-heksan, sedangkan pemisahan dan pemurnian senyawa digunakan metode kromatografi kolom dan KLT preparatif. Karakterisasi senyawa yang diperoleh meliputi uji titik leleh dan uji fitokimia, sedangkan penentuan struktur melalui metode spektroskopi UV-Vis, FT1R, serta GC-MS. Senyawa hasil isolasi berupa kristal putih yang memiliki titik Ieleh 154 —155 °C dan dari uji fitokimia menunjukkan golongan steroid. Senyawa menyerap pada panjang gelombang maksimum 210 nm, dan menunjukkan adanya gugus hidroksil, alkil, gem dimetil, dan ikatan rangkap karbon-karbon terisolasi. Senyawa memiliki berg molekul sebesar 412 gram per mol. Berdasarkan data-data tersebut diusulkan bahwa senyawa hasil isolasi adalah stigmasterol yang merupakan senyawa steroid alam. Purwoceng (Pimpinella alpina Molk) is a plant that widely used to both diuretic and aphrodisiac. The secondary metabolics compound of the plant have been isolated and characterized in this research. Isolation of the compound have been carried out by means of extraction methods using n-hexane as a solvent. Purification of those were conducted with both equipment column chromato¬graphy and preparative thin layer chromatography. Of these, one of some compounds collected was then further charactherized by melting point test and phytochemical test, and its chemical structure was determined by spectroscopy methods. Running all of those procedures could be collected white crystals which has melting point at 154 — 155 °C and from phytochemical test show steroid type. This compoud produced maximum wave length at 210 nm and indicate free hydroxyl group, alkyl, dimethyl gem, and isolated carbon-carbon double bonds were actually present.     Free fatty acids and peroxide are part of cooking oil quality parameters. This study aims to determine the levels of free fatty acids and peroxide value in cooking oil used by fried merchant in Jl. A.W. Sjahranie Samarinda. Sampling was done by total sampling which is cooking oil before frying and after frying a few times from four fried merchants. Determination of free fatty acid content using alkalimetry method and levels of peroxide using iodometric method.The test results of the free fatty acid content of samples A, B, C, D cooking oil before frying is equal to 0.16%; 0.27%; 0.33%; 0.32%, and free fatty acid levels after few times frying is 0.19%; 0.29%; 0.37%; 0.36%. The test results of the peroxide sample A, B, C, D cooking oil before frying in the amount of 18.95 meq O2/kg; 27.63 meqO2/kg; 24.67 meq O2/kg; 23.29 meq O2/kg. Peroxide levels after several times frying is 26.25 meqO2/kg; 35.72 meqO2/kg; 34.54 meqO2/kg; 33.16 meqO2/kg. Average levels of free fatty acids cooking oil before frying is 0.27% and after frying to 0.30%, or an increase of 12.04%. While the average level of peroxide cooking oil before frying of 23.64 meqO2/kg and after frying be 32.42 meqO2/kg or an increase of 37.16%

    Paku atai merah tubers (angiopteris ferox Copel) commonly used as tradisional medicines by dayak tribes. The aims of this research were to know the secondary metabolites and antioxidant activity in the ethanolic extract of paku atai merah tubers. This research had been conducted on phytochemical test and antioxidant activity of extract was determined by the DPPH method (1,1-Difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) using spectrophotometer UV-Vis. The result of phytochemical tests showed that the ethanolic extract of paku atai merah tubers contained alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and steroids. While it had a strong antioxidant activity with the IC50 values of 193,20 ppm

    This research about identifying medicine chemicals content of parasetamol on uric acid herb which found at Kecamatan Sungai Kunjang have been done. This research methods start with intake of sample, sample preparation and identify parasetamol through colour reaction and thin layer chromatography. Colour reaction use azo reagen, FeCl 3 10% and K 2 Cr 2 O 7 . While eluen for KLT use sikloheksana : chloroform : methanol : glacial acetic acid (60 : 30 : 5 : 5) and chloroform : methanol ( 90 : 10) Result of research show there are one sample which positive contain parasetamol that is B sample with value of Rf = 0,03 in first eluen and 0,24 in second eluen. While two sample A a nd C are not indicated containing parasetamol
