Com o passar dos meses, e com o valor-noticia novidade a perder relevância, a frequência de atualização diminuiu e os assuntos abordados deixaram de ser principalmente os ataques, mas ganharam também destaque as decisões políticas.ABSTRACT: This internship report is part of the requirements for obtaining the master’s degree in Journalism by the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social, belonging to the Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, in Lisbon. The present academic work results from the participant observation carried out during a curricular internship at Correio da Manhã website, for three months (between April 5th and July 5th), and from the academic research that had as object of study the way this website understood and respond to the need to update the audience, in real time, about what was happening in Ukraine, known as the first 'live' war. In the scope of this internship report we were able to understand the dynamics of updating the Correio da Manhã liveblog about the war in Ukraine, which changed both in frequency and subjects covered as time went by. At the beginning, the publication of new information was very present in the journalist's daily routine, who prioritized content from credible information sources, such as news agencies or political bodies. As the months went by, the subject started to lose relevance because it wasn’t new. This meant that the frequency of updates decreased, and the subjects covered were no longer mainly attacks but also political decisions.N/

Developing an ambient intelligent-based decision support system for production and control planning

Scheduling production instructions in a manufacturing facility is key to assure a efficient process that assures the desired product quantities are produced in time, with quality and with the right resources. An efficient production avoids the creation of downstream delays, and early completion which both can be detrimental if storage space is limited and contracted quantities are important. Therefore, the production, planning and control of manufacturing is increasingly more difficult as family products increases. This paper presents an ongoing Ambient Intelligent decision support system development that aims to provide assistance on the creation on standard work procedures that assure production quantity and efficiency by means of ambient intelligence, optimization heuristics and machine learning in the context of a large organization. This work has been supported by COMPETE: POCI-01-0145-FEDER-007043 and FCT - Fundac¸ ˜ao para a Ciˆencia e a Tecnologia (Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology) within the Project Scope UID/CEC/00319/2013. To address this problem, we developed and validated a protocol of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) with silver nanostars for the discrimination of A. baumannii and K. pneumoniae species, and their globally disseminated and clinically relevant antibiotic resistant clones. Isolates were characterized by mixing bacterial colonies with silver nanostars, followed by deposition on filter paper for SERS spectrum acquisition. Spectral data were processed with unsupervised and supervised multivariate data analysis methods, including principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least-squares discriminant analysis (PLSDA), respectively. Our proposed SERS procedure using silver nanostars adsorbed to the bacteria, followed by multivariate data analysis, enabled differentiation between and within species. This pilot study demonstrates the potential of SERS for the rapid discrimination of clinically relevant A. baumannii and K. pneumoniae species and clones, displaying several advantages such as the ease of silver nanostars synthesis and the possible use of a handheld spectrometer, which makes this approach ideal for point-of-care applications.publishersversionpublishe

The prisoner system and its processes is still a theme with lack of search and few discussed in our country. We are starting to give the first steps in the comprehension, as in punishment system and integration in its own meaning, as also trying to understand the dynamics involved: the inmate, the adaption of this one, impolite behaviour, anti-social personality, the crime, the punishment. The following investigation, by a qualitative boarding tried to understand the perceptions and opinions in a set of inmates about their experiences of life in the transition from liberty to prison. The analysis also tried to know the different adjustment that each one made. By a script of interviews half structured, tried to analyse six big areas (health status, familiar situation, social intra-prison situation, actual prison, transition, adjustment, future projects and resilience) and also living habits of each one in these areas. The main conclusion is that each profile is a profile, and to infer about the inmate’s belief we have to consider some factors, between of some, familiar situation, institutional factor, each ones characteristics, the development history, which crime, the opinion that each prisoner has about himself and the sentence living. Only after of an analysis and total understanding to “Self” we are able to comprehend the prisoner in its own and his adjustment to prison.

Self-care behavior profiles with arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients

Patients with end-stage renal disease should be educated and trained to take care of their own arteriovenous fistula (AVF) with the purpose of developing self-care behaviors concerning vascular access. This was a prospective and observational study. We designed this research to identify clinically meaningful self-care behavior profiles in hemodialysis (HD) patients, and it was carried out in a private dialysis unit in the Lisbon region, Portugal, involving 101 patients. The proportion of male patients was 66.3%, the mean age was 60.9 years, and the frequency of self-care behaviors was 71%. Cluster analysis based on the subscale scores grouped patients in two clusters named “moderate self-care” and “high self-care.” Those profiles exhibit significant differences concerning gender, education, employment, dialysis vintage, AVF duration, and information on care with the AVF. Identification of self-care-behavior profiles in HD patients with AVF enables one to adjust education programs to the patients’ characteristics.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
