The damaging effects of Sars-CoV-2 on cardiac tissue may be intensified with the presence of cardiocirculatory pathologies. The use of clinical biomarkers has grown, in order to monitor this cardiotoxicity early. In this sense, this study aimed to investigate, through an integrative review, the main biomarkers of cardiac injury associated with comorbidities in patients with COVID-19. A systematic bibliographic search was conducted on July 26, 2020, in the Scopus database. Of the total of 669 publications purchased, only 40 articles were eligible for this review. From the content of these publications, 16 systemic cardiac and inflammatory biomarkers that are part of the clinical findings of critically ill patients with COVID-19 were identified. Most of these patients were male, had a mean age of 63 years, and pre-existing comorbidities, such as were hypertension, diabetes mellitus, coronary artery disease, cerebrovascular disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Cardiac injuries in patients infected with COVID-19 are related to the increase in cardiac and systemic biomarkers observed in most of these individuals. Finally, it is expected to increase physicians' awareness of biochemical markers of non-invasive cardiac injury, for diagnosis and prognosis, of unusual extrapulmonary pathophysiological presentations during infection by COVID-19

AbstractBackground/ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to examine rest interval length between agonist–antagonist paired set training (PS) on maximal repetition performance, rating of perceived exertion, and neuromuscular fatigue.MethodsFourteen trained men (age, 24.2 ± 1.1 years; height, 175 ± 5.5 cm; body mass, 76.6 ± 7.0 kg) performed two experimental protocols in random order with 2 minutes (P2) or 4 minutes (P4) between agonist–antagonist PS, which consisted of a bench press set followed immediately by a seated row set with 8-repetition maximum loads, respectively. A total of three PS were performed for each rest interval protocol. The total repetitions performed and the rating of perceived exertion were recorded for each exercise set within each rest interval protocol. Electromyography signals were recorded for the posterior deltoid, biceps brachii, pectoralis major, and triceps brachii muscles during the SR exercise. The electromyography signals were then used to calculate a fatigue index for each rest interval protocol.ResultsNo significant differences were identified in the total repetitions completed between rest interval protocols for the bench press (P2 = 22.9 ± 1.3 and P4 = 22.6 ± 0.8) and seated row (P2 = 25.4 ± 1.7 and P4 = 25.1 ± 1.3). However, a significantly higher fatigue index was found for all muscles under the P2 versus the P4 protocol.ConclusionWhen performing agonist–antagonist PS, prescribing a shorter rest interval between PS may induce higher levels of fatigue, albeit with similar total repetitions versus a longer rest interval

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) represent a global public health challenge, requiring multifaceted approaches for effective diagnosis and treatment. Multiprofessional action plays a fundamental role in the comprehensive management of these diseases, addressing clinical, social and public health aspects. This study aims to conduct an integrative literature review to investigate and summarize the contribution of multidisciplinary work in the diagnosis and treatment of STDs, highlighting the benefits and challenges of this approach. The methodology used in this study is the integrative literature review, which consists of a systematic search and critical analysis of relevant studies. Electronic databases such as PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar were consulted, using keywords related to the theme. Studies published between 2010 and 2022 that addressed multidisciplinary action in the context of STDs were included. Multiprofessional work in the diagnosis and treatment of STDs emerges as an effective and comprehensive approach. Health professionals, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers and educators, play complementary roles in the prevention, early diagnosis, counseling and treatment of STDs. This multidisciplinary approach helps reduce the spread of STDs, promote adherence to treatment, and improve patients' quality of life. However, challenges such as integrating services and overcoming stigmas are also evident. Joint work and interprofessional training are essential to optimize results. As doenças sexualmente transmissíveis (DSTs) representam um desafio global de saúde pública, exigindo abordagens multifacetadas para diagnóstico e tratamento eficazes. Depleted Li-ion batteries (LIBs) must be recycled for environmental and sustainability reasons. Most recycling processes are dedicated to the recovery of Li, Co, Mn, and Ni present in the cathode material of LIBs. However, separating the cathode material strongly adhered to the aluminum collector and those mechanically trapped into the polymeric separator is still challenging. Processes to separate the cathode material by dissolving its aluminum collector in NaOH solution and to extract part of this material encrusted in the separator by ultrasonic cavitation and mechanical friction are presented in tests with NMC batteries on a laboratory scale. Tests of LIB discharges were also carried out in different MnO4 solution concentrations, and the related electrochemical reactions were discussed

The BINGO Project IX: Search for Fast Radio Bursts -- A Forecast for the BINGO Interferometry System

The Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) from Integrated Neutral Gas Observations (BINGO) radio telescope will use the neutral Hydrogen emission line to map the Universe in the redshift range 0.127z0.4490.127 \le z \le 0.449, with the main goal of probing BAO. In addition, the instrument optical design and hardware configuration support the search for Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs). In this work, we propose the use of a BINGO Interferometry System (BIS) including new auxiliary, smaller, radio telescopes (hereafter \emph{outriggers}). The interferometric approach makes it possible to pinpoint the FRB sources in the sky. We present here the results of several BIS configurations combining BINGO horns with and without mirrors (44 m, 55 m, and 66 m) and 5, 7, 9, or 10 for single horns. We developed a new {\tt Python} package, the {\tt FRBlip}, which generates synthetic FRB mock catalogs and computes, based on a telescope model, the observed signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) that we used to compute numerically the detection rates of the telescopes and how many interferometry pairs of telescopes (\emph{baselines}) can observe an FRB. FRBs observed by more than one baseline are the ones whose location can be determined. We thus evaluate the performance of BIS regarding FRB localization. We found that BIS will be able to localize 23 FRBs yearly with single horn outriggers in the best configuration (using 10 outriggers of 6 m mirrors), with redshift z0.96z \leq 0.96; the full localization capability depends on the number and the type of the outriggers. Wider beams are best to pinpoint FRB sources because potential candidates will be observed by more baselines, while narrow beams look deep in redshift. The BIS can be a powerful extension of the regular BINGO telescope, dedicated to observe hundreds of FRBs during Phase 1. Many of them will be well localized with a single horn + 6 m dish as outriggers.(Abridged)Comment: 12 pages, 9 figures, 5 tables, submitted to A&
