Incremental solution of LTMGA transfers transcribed with an advanced shaping approach

In the last decade the global optimisation of low-thrust multi-gravity assist transfers (LTMGA) has been tackled with different approaches. Some authors proposed to generate a first guess solution by building a multi-gravity assist transfer with impulsive manoeuvres and then using a direct or an indirect method to transcribe the multi-impulse arcs into low-thrust arcs. Other authors, notably Petropoulos et al. (2002), De Pascale et al. (2006), Wall et al. (2008) and SchĂĽtze et al. (2009), proposed the use of several forms of trajectory shaping to model low-thrust arcs. The disadvantage in all these studies is that the swingbys are powered and therefore suggest the use of high thrust propulsion along with the low thrust propulsion on board the spacecraft. The problem generally resides in the lack of flexibility of the low thrust trajectory models to satisfy a variety of boundary conditions. In this paper, a spherical shaping model is used whereby all encountered types of boundary constraints are satisfied analytically. Furthermore, a special incremental pruning of the search space is performed before employing a global optimiser. The process is conceptually equivalent to the approach proposed by Becerra et al. for the search space pruning of multi-gravity assist trajectories and exploits the decoupling of pairs of transfer arcs. Such decoupling removes the dependency of one arc from all those that are two or more before, and allows for pruning the search space in polynomial time. Numerical examples are presented for LTMGA transfers from Earth to asteroid Apollo and Earth to Jupiter

A Model for an Intelligent Support Decision System in Aquaculture

The paper purpose an intelligent software system agents–based to support decision in aquculture and the approach of fish diagnosis with informatics methods, techniques and solutions. A major purpose is to develop new methods and techniques for quick fish diagnosis, treatment and prophyilaxis at infectious and parasite-based known disorders, that may occur at fishes raised in high density in intensive raising systems. But, the goal of this paper is to presents a model of an intelligent agents-based diagnosis method will be developed for a support decision system.support decision system, diagnosis, multi-agent system, fish diseases

Modeling the Evolution of Companies using Intelligent Software Agents Architecture

    Get PDF
The paper presents the concept of multi agent system that models the evolution of a company. The opportunity of such an approach and the limits of mathematical modeling are presented. The main players on the market are modeled as cognitive, adaptive, heterogeneous agents and evolve in a dynamic environment. The purpose is to use the model of operational agent that has these characteristics. This model is based on using an ATN (Augmented Transition Network) to adapt the behavior of its agent to the changes it detects in its environment. Each agent has an inference mechanism for the first order reasoning. The agents communicate between them through messages and will be implemented in a non synchronized object environment.multiagent system, economic model, discret events

The Party, the Great Redeemer: an existential-political commentary on Orwell’s 1984

Given its multifaceted relevance, Orwell’s 1984 has enjoyed a plethora of theoretical and artistic interpretations. However, I have not come across any such interpretation concerned with the ontological temporality of the novel, i.e. not its narrative development, but its use of temporality as the basic horizon of self-awareness, both existentially and politically. Considering this to be a key feature of both Orwell’s novel and totalitarian systems in general, I have taken upon myself the task of loosely exploring such an approach. As it will become apparent, I rely strongly on Heidegger’s account of existential and historical time (especially his concept of Being—towards-death). Basically, I will try to provide an existential account of totalitarianism as the resulting systemic product of the flight from the Beingtowards-death in particular, respectively an attempt at subduing temporality, in general. In addition, I will make, when deemed necessary, several contextual references to other thinkers such as Foucault, Nietzsche, Freud, Plato and Gadamer

Technomorphic Dystopias: Westworld. A Hermeneutic Case-Study on the Relation between Ideology, Ontology and Art

Supposedly, every ideology comes along with its own epistemological and artistic proclivities. The stronger version of this claim, today quite frequently met, would be that ideologies dictate their own version of truth. If that were so, ideologies would constitute ideationally self-sufficient monads, with no possibilities of interaction. As this is quite evidently not the case, it means that there is a pre-and transideological space that enables such interaction. I would hold that this is ontology, i.e. the general understanding of Being, that subjacently encompasses everything having to do with ideology, epistemology, and art. In other words, changes in ontology induce changes in the latter three that interreflect and eventually feed back into ontology. Given its dialectical closeness to all four, the hermeneutic object chosen in this article for the illustration of this argument is Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s sci-fi dystopianutopia Westworld. On the theoretical side, the paper drew heavily on the works of Mannheim, Heidegger, Gadamer, and Marcuse

A Comparative Study of Hermeneutical Approaches to the Seven Seals

Problem From the beginnings God had a purpose with His prophetical messages to the world and we can see in the Bible clearly, that God always presented His prophetical messages in a certain order. A chronological method was favored by God. That is why from the beginnings, as Seventh-Day Adventists we believed that the best way to interpret the secrets of Revelation is through the historicist approach. Unfortunately this view is fading among scholars, even among SDA researchers. Purpose We are going to investigate why this is happening and we will show that historicism has a lot to say, even in the 21st century. This view has to be protected and we have to give back its purpose and function. This is the only way we can really see what God has shown us through the book and this is what people need in the last days in order to be able to understand to book of Revelation appropriately. Method In order to be able to see that the historical approach is appropriate, we have to see and compare what the other interpretation schools have to say about the book of Revelation. That is what we are going to use in this paper. Seal by seal we will investigate each interpretation school (Preterism, Futurism, Idealism, Historicism), and what they have to say about the seals. This way we are going to have a clearer view of all these methods. Conclusion After a careful study, it will be presented that Preterism and Futurism have been developed way after historicism, by two different Spanish Jesuits. The reason is very simple. The time, when they came into existence was exactly the period when reformation started to occur within the church. That was the time when the reformers identified Babylon as the Roman Catholic Church. Of course this was not pleasant for the leaders so they needed to do something in the level of interpretation. This is the time when these two interpretation schools arose. Another important find is how God always had prophetic messages to his people. If we study the book of Daniel, we can realize that all the predictions about the futuristic kingdoms are in a chronological order, covering the whole period until Jesus’ birth. The Bible says about God that He is not changing. God inspired Daniel to write his book, and the same God inspired John to write the book of Revelation, therefore the predictions in the book should have the same chronological order, which is absent from Idealism and Futurism. Some other findings are also in our favor which will be presented further in the paper
