Malaysian Muslim youth perception towards management of spirituality program in Malaysia

Youth development will focus on moulding a generation of youth who are educated, united, democratic, liberal and tolerant, competitive, ethical and scientifically and technologically progressive. The development of this group is crucial since they will be future leaders, professionals, technocrats, skilled and productive workforce necessary to attain developed nation status. The objectives of this paper is to measure Muslim Malaysian youth perception towards management of spirituality program. The methodology used in this research is quantitative methods to gather the primary data through questionnaire. In this study, we employed stratified sampling technique and the respondents are Muslim Malaysian youth within the age of 15 to 40 years old. The data was gathered from 3,648 respondents analysed by using descriptive analysis, t-test and Anova. From the findings, to be successful in developing Muslim youth in Malaysia, improvement need to be done on the management of spirituality activities, in term of the quality of the content and the design of the program, its implementation and the role and contribution of the knowledgeable moderator are decisive factors

Hardcore drug addict treatment method through spiritual approach: a case study in Pondok Remaja Inabah 1 Malaysia, Kedah

This article explain method carried out by Pondok Remaja Inabah (1) Malaysia (PRI(1)M) for rehabilitation of drug addict, teenage social issues, as well as those who suffer from unpeaceful mind to return to the right path according to God's command.This case study was carried out by conducting multiple interviews and observations with PRI(1)M management team at their place. Each of the PRI(1)M’s participant (anak bina) will undergo three treatment methods, namely bath of repentance, prayer and remembrance (zikr). This method emphasizes the concept of recovery as well as the spiritual and physical guidance. Up to now PRI(1)M has treated more than 7000 of drug addicts (participants) and about 70% had been restored by the permission of God. Although PRI(1)M are faced with financial difficulties, PRI(1)M still capable to build the respected participants after they undergoing a rehabilitation program through spirituality approach. Among the key factors of this successful that can be identified is a strict censorship before admission; donations and services provided by the participants who have successfully rehabilitated and rejoin PRI(1)M togather help other participants with the spirituality approach; determination and sincerity of the founder and also the PRI(1)M’s management team. The results of this case study found that a spiritual approach by PRI(1)M capable and proven successful to recover hardcore drug addicts. Thus, the success of PRI(1)M can be used as a model for hardcore drug addicts recovery

Kepentingan elemen kerohanian dalam perlaksanaan aktiviti di MRSM Ulul Albab: Kajian kes di MRSM Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan

This study was conducted to see how far the school management emphasizes the elements of spirituality in the implementation of all activities in the school and the challenges it faced in order to produce excellent students academically and personality.This study applies qualitative method through an interview on the management of Mara Junior Science Colleges (MRSM) Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan.From the analysis carried out, this study found that the school management emphasizes the elements of spirituality in almost all the activities carried out in school either in the curriculum, hostel activities and also includes community activities.In addition, the school management has the full support of the students, beneficiaries as well as the communities in their efforts to emphasize the spiritual elements in each activities implemented. However, it is undeniable that existed challenges in the implementation of activities that emphasize the spiritual elements such as challenge for the students to divide the time between studies and activities undertaken.This is because there are so many activities undertaken and their schedule is too compact

Malaysian youth perception towards management of spirituality programs in Malaysia

Spirituality Issues among youth should be concerned in order to secure good nation building in future. In relation to this, government as well as private sectors manages to setup various activities in order to develop and improve spirituality among youth. There are three categories of activities: education, training and program offered or managed by government and private sector.However, what is the Malaysian youth perception towards management of spirituality program conducted? Therefore, the objectives of this paper is to measure Malaysian youth perception towards management of spirituality program. The methodologies utilized in this research is quantitative methods to gather primary data through questionnaire. In this study, we employed stratified sampling technique and the respondents are Malaysian youth which age within 15 to 40 years. The data gathered from 4703 respondents analysed by using descriptive analysis, t-test and ANOVA. The findings show that the mean score for effectiveness of management level towards spirituality activities is 7.55 out of 10 points which imply there are room to be improved. There are ample opportunity to improve the management of spirituality activities, especially in terms of selecting professional facilitator or moderator who conduct the spirituality activities

Correctional method on hard core drug addicted: a study on AADK, AADK-I and INABAH

This article is part of a larger study on the role of spirituality in correcting the hard core drug addict. The study seeks to reveal the experience of former hard core drug addicted through different correctional method. This is to better understand the deep meanings from their experiences with spirituality and transformation as they cope with the challenges of drug addict. Data were gathered using in depth interview with the former drug addicted who have experience through AADK, AADK-i and Pondok Inabah. Qualitative methods were used in identifying several themes which 1) Basic method of treatment used; 2) Special treatment used; 3) Feeling during treatment; 4) Preparation to face community; 5) Successful rate. The study suggests that former drug addict experiences with drug addict and their learning processes must be understood within the appropriate cultural context. The common emphasis of spirituality on relationship with God, self and others, may significantly influence how people learn to live without drug

Spirituality development: A study on awareness and effectiveness of spirituality trainings among youth

The aim of this study is to highlight the needs to enhance the spirituality development of youth. Although spirituality has been associated with a myriad of positive outcomes in both adults and youth, the importance of these constructs has not been reflected by social behaviour of the society. There were reported that a number of social crime and cases still occurs. This study relies mainly on primary data based on a convenient basis of youth in every district in Kedah. The study reveals the awareness and effectiveness of spirituality trainings among youth in Malaysia. The findings of this study may have policy ramifications towards enhancing spirituality among youth in Malaysia

Faktor-faktor penentu kecerdasan rohaniah belia muslim: Kajian terhadap pelatih PLKN Zon Utara

Spiritual intelligence is important as life guidance for the youth in order to obey Allah’s rules and to become their personal defences from evil things. The youth who is the future leaders, facing many challenges in globalization era which require mental and spiritual strength. Therefore, there are many activities and spiritual programs have been conducted to produce an integrated youth. However, the outcome is still not good enough. Hence, the objectives of this study are; to evaluate the level of youth’s spiritual intelligence; to identify the different level of the spiritual intelligence based on demographic criteria; to determine the relationship between determinant factors (demographic factors, spiritual practices, spiritual activity, involvement and environmental influences) with spiritual intelligence; to determine the determinant factors influence towards spiritual intelligence; to determine the influence of management activity (moderating factor) on the relationship between determinant factors and spiritual intelligence. This comprehensive study participated by 641 youths who involved in the Program Latihan Khidmat Negara (PLKN) in the North Zone. The data collected from questionnaire analysed using descriptive statistic, Pearson’s correlation, multiple, and hierarchical regression. Findings show that the youth’s spiritual intelligence level is 4.23 from a scale of 5. It also found that there are differences in the level of spiritual intelligence based on selected demographic factors. Spiritual practices, involvement and environmental factors influence youth’s spiritual intelligence significantly. Spiritual management activity also found to be moderating factor for the involvement, rural locality, and spiritual activity factors with spiritual intelligence. Therefore, we should provide a special program (such as PLKN) which is focused on enhancing the youth’s spiritual intelligence at national level. Attractive spiritual programs with efficient management and appropriate forms of youth should be multiplied and given more attention so that the youth’s spiritual intelligence can be consistently enhanced to realizing nation-building aspirations

Synthesis and optical characterization of Co nanoparticles dispersed on polymer matrix by gamma radiation

Cobalt nanoparticles were synthesized using reduction of 60Co gamma source with dose range 10-50 kGy in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polymer as a capping agent. Radiation synthesis has the advantages of without the use of reducing agent and catalyst and the cobalt nanoparticles aggregated immediately upon irradiation. The Ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer and Nanophox measurement revealed the formation of cobalt nanoparticles by exhibiting surface plasmon absorption maxima at 500 nm. The size distribution of the cobalt nanoparticles was influenced by the concentration of CoCl2 and absorbed dose of gamma rays irradiation
