Abstract— Relationship between rainfall and runoff plays a significant role in generation of stramflows. The objective of the study is to model the rainfall – runoff using daily, weekly and monthly data for a catchment in the coastal Karnataka region using Artificial Neural Networks. The study uses data from two rainguage stations and a riverguage station located within the catchment. Fifteen models were developed using different input combinations which included 11 daily, 2 weekly and 2 monthly models. The efficiency of the models were compared using the statistical parameters - Coefficient of Correlation (r), Index of Agreement (d), Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). The results indicate that the daily model with daily past one day rainfall, past 2 day rainfall, past one day maximum temperature and past one day runoff as inputs was the best. The results can be used for any future studies of the catchment

The purpose of this research is to see whether there are differences in company’s financial performance before and after the merger measured by profitability ratio which is proxied by return on asset ratio, solvability ratio which is proxied by debt to asset ratio, liquidity ratio which is proxied by current ratio, and activity ratio which is proxied by total asset turnover ratio. The type of the research is empirical research. The population of this research is the company which is listed in Bursa Efek Indonesia. Samples are determined by using the purposive sampling method. There are 28 companies which enlisted as the sample of this research. The analyzing of hypothesis for return on asset ratio and debt to asset ratio is using Paired Sample T-Test (Parametric) method because of the data distribution is normal. Meanwhile, the analyzing of hypothesis for debt to asset ratio and total asset turnover ratio is using Wilcoxon Test (Non-Parametric) method because of the data distribution is abnormal with the assistance of SPSS program version 17,0. The test results show that alternative hypothesis (Ha) which is stated that there is a difference in company’s financial performance before and after the merger is rejected
