Penghulu sebagai Ujung Tombak Konstruksi Pemikiran Beragama Moderat di Sintang
The transnational religious thought of Salafi Wahabi has received a significant response from some Muslims in Sintang City. The response, among others, is marked by the establishment of a Salafi Study Center at Abu Bakr mosque that has influenced some congregations of the surrounding mosques such as al-Amin mosque, Nur Mosque, and al-Muttaqin Mosque in Kampung Ladang area. In addition, another religious thought of Jamaah Tabliqh also gets adherents from the surrounding community in Masuka. They have set up a mosque to accommodate their religious activities. The positive response to the transnational religious thought has also been found in the hinterland of Ketungau Hilir and Tempunak sub-districts in Sintang City area. This work discusses the roles of Penghulu (the official Islamic religious leaders) in Sintang District in responding to the growing of the transnational religious thought. Based on qualitative data and analysis gathered in the field, the work suggests that the marriage administers (the penghulu) have not shown their satisfying performance with well structured programs. In fact, the penghulu sets in a strategic position within the society. They have focused more on marriage counselling as their services to religious guidance to the community. Special programs for spiritual direction with a broader range of materials have not been attracting their attention due to their limited time allocated and facilities available. Therefore, this work recommends that it is urgent to initiate the construction of knowledge that is not easily to be exposed by transnational religious traditions that tend to act radically. The penghulu may better provide insight into Islamic moderation or moderate Islam to the community in the region
Evolution of massive fields around a black hole in Horava gravity
We study the evolution of massive scalar field in the spacetime geometry of
Kehagias-Sfetsos(KS) black hole in deformed Horava-Lifshitz(HL) gravity by
numerical analysis. We find that the signature of HL theory is encoded in the
quasinormal mode(QNM) phase of the evolution of field. The QNM phase in the
evolution process lasts for a longer time in HL theory. QNMs involved in the
evolution of massive field are calculated and find that they have a higher
oscillation frequency and a lower damping rate than the Schwarzschild spacetime
case. We also study the relaxation of field in the intermediate and asymptotic
range and verified that behaviors of field in these phases are independent of
the HL parameter and is identical to the Schwarzschild case.Comment: The article was fully rewritten, references added, accepted to GR
Absorption cross section of RN and SdS extremal black hole
The nature of scalar wave functions near the horizon of Reissner Nordstrom
(RN) extremal and Schwarzschild-de Sitter (SdS) extremal black holes are found
using WKB approximation and the effect of reflection of waves from the horizon.
The absorption cross section when RN extremal and SdS extremal
black holes placed in a Klein-Gordon field is calculated.Comment: 11 pages, Preprint to IJMP
Modal Test of Six-Meter Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator
A modal test was performed on the six-meter Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator (HIAD) test article to gain a firm understanding of the dynamic characteristics of the unloaded structure within the low frequency range. The tests involved various configurations of the HIAD to understand the influence of the tri-torus, the varying pressure within the toroids and the influence of straps. The primary test was conducted utilizing an eletrodynamic shaker and the results were verified using a step relaxation technique. The analysis results show an increase in the structure's stiffness with respect to increasing pressure. The results also show the rise of coupled modes with the tri-torus configurations. During the testing activity, the attached straps exhibited a behavior that is similar to that described as fuzzy structures in the literature. Therefore extensive tests were also performed by utilizing foam to mitigate these effects as well as understand the modal parameters of these fuzzy sub structures. Results are being utilized to update the finite element model of the six-meter HIAD and to gain a better understanding of the modeling of complex inflatable structures
