Nørre Vosborg. A Woman's Grave from the Early Viking Period In 1902, a very rich grave find from Grydehøj near Nørre Vosborg was donated to the National Museum. It contains 2 tortoise brooches of Berdal type, a house-shaped third brooch of bronze, an arm ring of bronze, a stone pendant, a bronze ladle, a clay spindle whorl, an amber head, 2 opaque glass beads, 2 translucent glass beads and a couple of textile fragments -a unique, complete, woman's outfit from Denmark's early Viking period. The bronze brooches have been cast in two-piece dimensionally stabilized clay moulds. Mould fragments of a Berdal brooch of Nørre Vosborg type have been found in Ribe. The distribution of Berdal brooches shows that in the early Viking period there was a trade route along the west coast of Jutland with connections to Norway. Helge Brinch Madsen & Leif Chr.
