Particle tracking numerical methods for nanoparticle transport in heterogeneous porous media

    Get PDF
A single-phase flow, lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is utilized with a Lagrangian particle tracking (LPT) method for the simulation of flow and transport of nanoparticles in a porous medium. The 3D pore matrix is obtained either as a randomly packed with spheres porous medium or from images of segments of rock (sandstone) through micro-computed tomography (-CT). The particles are assumed to be passive. When the particles collide with the solid matrix, they can either adsorb or continue their motion, based on the assumption that the deposition process is a pseudo-first order process. Furthermore, the solid-fluid interface is assumed to be heterogeneous, so that the simulated nanoparticles can adsorb at different rates at different sites of the interface. Simulations are validated with theoretically expected results, based on macroscopic filtration equations

В 2017 г. в Тонкинском заливе было исследовано 20 экз. Megalaspis cordyla.

Hamiltonian dynamics and spectral theory for spin-oscillators

We study the Hamiltonian dynamics and spectral theory of spin-oscillators. Because of their rich structure, spin-oscillators display fairly general properties of integrable systems with two degrees of freedom. Spin-oscillators have infinitely many transversally elliptic singularities, exactly one elliptic-elliptic singularity and one focus-focus singularity. The most interesting dynamical features of integrable systems, and in particular of spin-oscillators, are encoded in their singularities. In the first part of the paper we study the symplectic dynamics around the focus-focus singularity. In the second part of the paper we quantize the coupled spin-oscillators systems and study their spectral theory. The paper combines techniques from semiclassical analysis with differential geometric methods.Comment: 32 page

Skin cancer as the most common cancer diagnosis tend to be increasing. This condition is a particularly significant issue in developed countries. This study aimed to describe the clinical features, histopathological features, complications, and early surgical treatment outcomes of skin cancer in Can Tho Oncology Hospital from 2014 to 2015. This descriptive prospective study involved all patients with non-melanoma skin cancer that were examined and treated at Can Tho Oncology Hospital from July 2014 to March 2015. There were 78 cases selected. Skin cancer was found to be more common among older patients. The prevalence of basal cell carcinoma was found higher than squamous cell carcinoma with percentage worth 76.9% and 23.1% respectively. Worth 73.1% of all the patients in the study underwent surgery with wide resection and reconstruction. In this study, most patients were the elderly. The basal cell carcinoma was the most common. The main treatment was surgery with wide resection and reconstruction. The complication was rare 1.3% with skin flap necrosis

Quang Tri Old Citadel in Vietnam on the Path to Sustainable Tourism: Historical Memory as an Instrument for a Requalification Project

The aim of this study is searching and forming about the innovative solutions in preservation of the culture heritage and historical sites. The restoration of damaged heritage represents a fundamental theme in the architectural debate to provide answers at an international level. The history of civilisation reveals that the great cities of the past were destroyed by war. These destructive forces threaten the structural heritage of our great cities, putting the entire political and religious system in jeopardy. The research concentrates on the case study of Quang Tri Citadel where the culture and history experienced two wars, the French and the American one. The methodology of this study is based on the field survey, oral history, and social participation. Therefore it is appropriate to include a historical perspective in the project, assuming it unfolds on three levels within the defensive belt represents a constant and integral element of the scheme: the technical recovery of the walls, the functional transformation of the existing foundation in order to improve sociological topics, the level of architectural studies and proposals. The result of this research illustrates a new approach of the scientific debate to the cultural and historical values of the sites.DICEA, Università Politecnica delle Marche, Brecce Bianche st. 60131 Ancona IT, Doctoral School on Engineering Sciences, DICEA, Università Politecnica delle Marche, sdfdf
