In the theoretical part of my thesis I deal with the findings of sensing biopotentials and basic information on conducting polymers. In the practical part I concentrate on the implementation of ECG sensor in the form of conducting polymers, which will be incorporated into a woollen T-shirt either as polyaniline or polypyrrol bioelectrode.450 - Katedra kybernetiky a biomedicínského inženýrstvívelmi dobř

    GPS kinematics measurements accuracy testing

    Get PDF
The accuracy of kinematic GPS measurements is analyzed. Several GPS apparatus were tested in the geodetic network stabilized in the Central Slovak Region. The GPS measurements were complemented by 2D terrestrial measurements using total stations. Possibilities of using the tested GPS apparatus and selected kinematic GPS methods were considered for their application for a purpose of the real estate register, geological survey and the GIS applications

Impact of FDI on Economic Growth: Evidence from V4 Countries

    Get PDF
There is no way to adequately evaluate the economic development of the V4 countries over recent decades without taking into account the role played in it by foreign direct investment (FDI). Albeit the exact gains obtained from FDI are difficult to measure, their benefitial developmental impact has been evidenced by both the ensuing accelerated structural adaptation and higher levels of technological performance achieved across the V4 countries. FDI has ameliorated the areas of total factor productivity growth and export performance, rendering as well the market environment of the economies observed much more regular. FDI as a vehicle of acceleration of economic growth has contributed to the narrowing of the performance gap between the V4 grouping and the "old" EU member states. The first part of the article is, therefore, focused on the creation of conditions making for FDI inflow to the V4 countries. At the beginning of the economic transition, the FDI inflow to the V4 economies was predominantly dependent on their ability to secure favourable business environment and conditions required for the free movement of international capital. The second part of the paper seeks to compare FDI inflows to the V4 countries during the pre- and post-crisis periods. The upward impact of FDI stock on the economic growth throughout the V4 countries is then estimated by means of a growth accounting method. Lastly, we address the relationship between the technological level and absorptive capacity of the economies under scrutiny, with an eye to the potential impact of FDI on innovation-related performance growth

Geoelectrical Survey of the Heřmanice Dump, Ostrava

The topic of this bachelor's thesis deals with geoelectric exploration at the Heřmanice waste dump in the city of Ostrava. The Heřmanice waste dump is composed of anthropogenic materials from coal mining, deposited on a subsoil of Quaternary sediments. The chosen geoelectric method was Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT), through which a 496-meter-long profile was measured, led through the thermally active sections of the heap. The goal was to test the possibilities of detecting thermal activity in subsurface parts of the heap. The result is a resistivity profile of the heap, interpreted on the basis of archival data from boreholes, newly conducted drilled boreholes directly within the ERT profile area and thermographic images.541 - Katedra geologického inženýrstvívýborn

    Realization theory for rational systems

    Get PDF
In this paper we solve the problem of realization of response maps for rational systems. Sufficient and necessary conditions for a response map to be realizable by a rational system are presented. The properties of rational realizations such as observability, controllability, and minimality are studied. Finally, we briefly discuss the procedures for checking observability and controllability of rational systems and minimality of rational realizations and the procedure for constructing a rational system realizing a response map

Oral Microbiota from the Stomatology Perspective

    Get PDF
Besides the properties typical of body cavities, the oral cavity exhibits many differentiating features that allow it to occupy position of an autonomous functional and biological unit, a characteristic ecosystem. An appropriate homeostasis of oral biocenosis and balanced conditions for microorganisms concerning proportions of physiological and pathogenic or potentially pathogenic microbiota play an important role with regard to the oral cavity health and eventually the overall health of an individual. The oral cavity is a constantly changing habitat. The current market offers a number of relevant preparations supporting oral health, and alternative approaches serving these purposes are also available. Results of the studies that focused on microbiocenosis of the dental plaque and interactions between individual bacterial species indicate a probiotic potential of some oral bacteria and their prospective use in prevention of oral cavity diseases. This chapter deals with the state of physiological microbiota found in oral biofilms, with the most important infections of the oral cavity and the potential use of probiotics as a prospective alternative approach to prevention and therapy of oral cavity diseases

Influence of the ripening onto the growth of selected probiotic cultures in low – cooked cheese

    Get PDF
The work describes changes in numbers of selected probiotic cultures in the cheese during its ripening. The technology to manufacture semi-hard low-scaled cheeses used probiotic cultures Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus plantarum 96. Sampling took place each month from January to June 2009. Samples of cheese were microbiologically analyzed by standard microbiological methods for the numbers ingested probiotic cultures throughout the period. Physico-chemical parameters (fat content, dry matter content of sodium chloride, titratable acidity, and pH and in the last month and lactic acid and protein content) were followed selected during four months of ripening. For each sample analyzed, and the center region of the cheeses. Achieved values observed physico-chemical parameters were significantly changed during the reporting period and amounted to the value required by the applicable legislation for the cheese. The results of microbiological analysis showed that in all evaluated selected probiotic cheeses was observed during a six month minimum storage period of therapy, which sets the value of micro-organisms at the end of the storage order of 106 cfu.ml-1

Methods for Searching of Potential Beneficial Bacteria and Their Products in Dental Biofilm

    Get PDF
Dental microbiota is associated with different types of organisms with dentition including humans and is responsible for many oral diseases all over the world. Bacteria in a dental biofilm are important also in other diseases, i.e., endocarditis, pulmonary fibrosis, and arthritis, and some findings predict the connection of dental microbiota with cancerogenesis. Not all oral bacterial representatives are pathogenic or potentially pathogenic. Dental biofilm consists of numerous different bacteria that may have beneficial characteristics for good condition of dental and oral health. Searching for bacteria or their products with the beneficial effect is important in the development of new biologically based strategies for the prevention or treatment of oral and dental diseases. For searching of potential probiotic candidates are useful methods that could map phenotypic or genotypic characteristics of studied bacteria. This chapter is focused on the spectrum of these basic methods searching for beneficial bacteria and their products
