Point Counting On Genus 2 Curves

    Get PDF
For cryptographic purposes, counting points on the jacobian variety of a given hyperelliptic curve is of great importance. There has been several approaches to obtain the cardinality of such a group, specially for hyperelliptic curves of genus 2. The best known algorithm for counting points on genus 2 curves over prime fields of large characteristic is a variant of Schoof’s genus 1 algorithm. Following a recent work of Gaudry and Schost, we show how to speed up the current state of the art genus 2 point counting algorithm by proposing various computational improvements to its basic arithmetical ingredients

    Get PDF
BACKGROUND: Chronic urticaria is a cutaneous disorder defined by the presence of hives and flare for over six weeks. Etiology of chronic urticaria is not clear in 80 to 90 percent of patients. Malignancies are possible associations with allergic disorders such as urticaria. The purpose of this article was to review the expression of chronic urticaria with various malignancies.METHODS: We searched in PubMed, Scopus, and EMBASE databases in English using the keywords chronic urticaria, urticarial, malignancy, and cancer. Inclusion criteria were both full and brief articles, case reports, case series, and original article up to June 2018.RESULTS: We found 258 articles on the primary search. After screening by two researchers, 23 articles were included. Most studies failed to find a link between hives and malignancy. Four studies showed a relationship between hives and malignancy. Five studies showed no relationship between hives and malignancy, and suggested that urticaria could even have a protective effect. As there were no homogenous results, we could not write a meta-analytic study.CONCLUSION: The relationship between chronic urticaria and malignancy is not clear. We need a more organized researches to clarify the association between urticaria and malignancies

Analytical Method for Seismic Bearing Capacity of Stone-Column Reinforced Shallow Foundations

    Get PDF
Stone-columns is a useful method for increasing bearing capacity and reducing settlement of foundation soil subjected to structure loading. For stone-column construction, 15 to 35 percent of weak soil volume is usually replaced with stone-column material. Such columns may be constructed with various diameters, lengths, and center-to-center distances. This paper presents a simple method to determine the seismic bearing capacity of stone-column reinforced shallow foundation. For this purpose, a simple failure surface is assumed to characterize the failure stage of the stone column and soil materials using the concept of lateral active and passive earth pressures. The well known Mononobe-Okabe approach is used to represent seismic effects of soil lateral earth pressures. The results show that with increasing the earthquake intensity, the foundation bearing capacity decreases. Parametric studies will be presented to illustrate the role of contributing parameters such as geotechnical data of stone column material, foundation geometry, native soil specification, and earthquake details

Applying genetic algorithm in selecting providers of supply chain in big stores

    Get PDF
Excess competition in offering the goods and services in two previous decades throughout the world, is an undeniable fact. By increasing the number of rivals in the world class, the organizations were forced to improve home processes (processes within the enterprise) to stay in global competition arena. During recent years, determining appropriate suppliers for supply chain has had extreme importance. A lot of manufactures were looking for cooperation with appropriate suppliers to improve the level of management and competitive performance. The main goal in the process of selecting suppliers is to decrease the risk of purchase, maximize the important values of client and create high and close connection between buyer and supplier. Therefore, determining appropriate supplier in supply chain is a strategic key for accessing to organizational competitiveness

The effect of the audit report on the relevance of accounting information

To increase public confidence to invest in the stock of listed companies on the Stock Exchange, accounting information should have qualitative features such as relevance, reliability, comparability, and intelligibility. The accounts must be audited for users to trust this financial information. According to the separation of ownership and management, discussion of corporate governance as well as related theories have been proposed such as the agencies which have been proposed, the need to audit financial statements is absolutely necessary. The audit creates added value for financial statements. Thus, the aim of this paper is investigation the effect of the audit report on the relevance of accounting information. Testing hypotheses have been investigated by using cross-sectional data of 105 companies among the listed companies in Tehran Stock Exchange in 2011 to 2015. The results indicated that there is a significant relationship between the audit firm, the efficiency of assets, and the ratio of financial independence to the rate of efficiency; but the Stock returns has not been affected by audit report with independent variables. Fitting of the second hypothesis indicated that the return on assets and financial independence in companies with the conditional report is more than in companies with the qualified report. Also, the financial independence in companies which have been audited by large firms is greater than in companies which have been audited by other firms

Background: Burkitt’s lymphoma is a high grade B-cell neoplasm, which is a kind of small non-cleaved cell lymphoma. It is presumably the fastest growing human malignancy, and the patients are prone to develop tumor-lysis syndrome. Here we present findings on our patients with Burkitt lymphoma. Materials and Methods: This descriptive retrospective study included 46 children with abdominal Burkitt's lymphoma who were treated during 15 years from June 1998 to Dec 2013 at Mofid Children’s Hospital. Results: Offourty six patients 32 (70%) were boys and 14 (30%) were girls with ages ranging from 2 to 14 years. Surgical exploration was carried out in all cases, the lesions were located in the small intestine (N=17), large intestine (N=15), ileocecal region (N=12), and stomach (N=2). We performed a complete mass resection in 16 cases, debulking in 10 and lymph node/mass biopsy in 20 cases. Pathologic examination revealed Burkitt’s lymphoma for all patients. The majority were stageIIE and stage IIIE (24 and 19 respectively). Post-operative complications were seen in five cases with the most common being persistent ileus. All patients received a sort of systemic chemotherapy. The mean follow up duration was 6 years. Death occurred in 7(15%) of our patients, due to tumor lysis syndrome and acute renal failure. Conclusion: The extent ofdisease at presentation is the most important prognostic factor in abdominal Burkitt’s lymphoma. Children with BL are at a high risk of tumor lysis syndrome before or during chemotherapy. Surgery still plays an important role in this pathology, and chemotherapy offers an excellent chance for long term disease free survival.

Designing an appropriate adaptive controller for synchronizing a bi-oscillator heart model with time delay

    Get PDF
In this paper, synchronization of heart follower oscillator which has lower frequency AV with heart leader oscillator which has dominant frequency SA will be studied. It can be seen if two nodes SA and AV are not synchronized, different types of cardiac blocking arrhythmias occur. Thus, in this paper, beside putting voltage to node SA, by applying time delay in bi-oscillator model of heart system and designing appropriate controller via linear and adaptive methods, we try to prevent blocking arrhythmias of heart. Finally, we apply Lyapanuv stability theorem for ensuring convergence

Mathematical modeling of infectious disease and designing vaccination law for control of this diseases

    Get PDF
In this paper, we propose the concept of partial stability instead of that of global stability to deal with the stability issues of epidemic models. The partial stability is able to provide a more meaningful analysis of the problem since it only focuses on the behavior of some of the variables (infected and infectious) instead of the complete population. It has been shown that the vaccination free SEIR model can still be partially stable even when a globally stability property does not hold, for two types of nonlinear incidence rates. By introducing the concept of partial stability and by designing a control vaccination based on it. Guarantee the eradication of an epidemic disease without requiring the global stability of the epidemic model

    Get PDF
Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii are the top urgent antibiotic resistance threat in the world. The aims of this study were the determination of carbapenem-resistant genes and virulence genes among isolates from hospital environments. In this study, A. baumannii isolated from hospital environments and evaluated its antibiotic resistance, virulence factors, and resistance genes. Of 258 samples, 58 showed growth of the target organism. Antibiotic susceptibility test results considered all the A. baumannii to be multidrug-resistant isolates with the highest resistance being 36.2% to ciprofloxacin; while the most effective antibiotics with 98.3% susceptibility was piperacillin-tazobactam. Of these 58 hospital environment isolates, 18 isolates were positive for Metallo beta-lactamase. Overall, 65% of the isolates from hospital environments had many virulence factors. PCR assays demonstrated the highest and lowest positive results in csgA and cvaC gene among hospital environment isolates. Results indicate that the determination of carbapenem-resistant genes and virulence genes among isolates from hospital environments is very important
