A multiplexing architecture for mixed-signal CMOS fuzzy controllers

Limits to precision impose limits to the complexity of analog circuits, hence fuzzy analog controllers are usually oriented to fast low-power systems with low-medium complexity. On the robustness of least-squares Monte Carlo (LSM) for pricing American derivatives

This paper analyses the robustness of Least-Squares Monte Carlo, a technique recently proposed by Longstaff and Schwartz (2001) for pricing American options. This method is based on least-squares regressions in which the explanatory variables are certain polynomial functions. We analyze the impact of different basis functions on option prices. Numerical results for American put options provide evidence that a) this approach is very robust to the choice of different alternative polynomials and b) few basis functions are required. Aportes al conocimiento de la distribución, la cría y el peso de aves de las provincias de Mendoza y San Juan, República Argentina. Segunda parte (Aves: Falconidae, Scolopacidae, Thinocoridae, Columbidae, Psittacidae, Strigidae, Caprimulgidae, Apodidae, Furnariidae, Rhinocryptidae y Tyrannidae)

En el presente trabajo se analiza un importante lote de aves en piel de estudio, coleccionado por William H. Partridge en las provincias de San Juan y Mendoza, República Argentina, durante los meses de noviembre y diciembre de 1963. Se dan a conocer nuevos datos y notas críticas taxionómicas para 23 especies de aves: Milvago chimango, Gallinago gallinago, Attagis gayi, Metriopelia melanoptera, Metriopelia aymara, Bolborhynchus aymara, Bolborhynchus aurifrons, Speotyto cunicularia, Hydropsalis brasiliana, Aeronautes andecolus, Asthenes pyrrholeuca, Teledromas fuscus, Sublegatus modestus, Stigmatura budytoides, Pseudocolopteryx flaviventris, Pyrocephalus rubinus, Knipolegus hudsoni, Knipolegus aterrimus, Hymenops perspicillata, Myiarchus swainsoni, Pitangus sulphuratus, Empidonomus aurantioatrocristatus y Tyrannus savana. También se aporta nueva nformación sobre la distribución geográfica, la reproducción y el peso corporal de los ejemplares. La colección pertenece al Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales de Buenos Aires (MACN), salvo unos pocos ejemplares del Museo de La Plata (MLP).On the basis of an important collection of birds from Mendoza and San Juan provinces, Argentina, procured by William H. Notas sobre una colección de aves del Parque Nacional Lihué Calel, La Pampa, Argentina

No existe hasta el momento ningún trabajo de conjunto sobre la avifauna del Parque Nacional Lihué Calel, provincia de La Pampa, República Argentina, por esta razón, nos ha parecido interesante dar a conocer una colección de aves compuesta de 117 ejemplares pertenecientes a 30 especies colectada en 1963 por W. H. Partridge en dicho parque nacional. Se incluyen además los registros de peso del cuerpo y desarrollo de las gónadas, que fueron anotados en el campo por el colector del material, el cual se encuentra depositado en el Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales de Buenos Aires. Combination of DROOL rules and Protégé knowledge bases in the ONTO-H annotation tool

ONTO-H is a semi-automatic collaborative tool for the semantic annotation of documents, built as a Protégé 3.0 tab plug-in. Among its multiple functionalities aimed at easing the document annotation process, ONTO-H uses a rule-based system to create cascading annotations out from a single drag and drop operation from a part of a document into an already existing concept or instance of the domain ontology being used for annotation. It also gives support to the detection of name conflicts and instance duplications in the creation of the annotations. The rule system runs on top of the open source rule engine DROOLS and is connected to the domain ontology used for annotation by means of an ad-hoc programmed Java proxy
