    Didasari keinginan yang kuat untuk mensukseskan program pemerintah dalam mencerdaskan sumber daya manusia Indonesia, salah satu cara yang dilakukan adalah membantu mengelola rumah baca, dengan membangun Sistem Informasi untuk Rumah Baca Indonesia Cerdas Medan dan Taman Bacaan Masyarakat Saham Cerdas. Sistem Informasi ini dirancang dan dibangun dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dan MySQL sebagai sistem database. Sistem informasi ini untuk pengelolaan kategori buku, rak buku, staff, member, unggah buku dalam bentuk softcopy, peminjaman, pengembalian, riwayat peminjaman, dan laporanlaporan yang dibutuhkan. Sistem informasi ini diharapkan dapat dikembangkan secara terintegrasi guna meningkatkan pelayanan kepada masyarakat

    Background: Head and neck cancer is a health problem with a high mortality rate. Head and neck cancer are increasing and effect many individuals from diverse backgrounds. Usually patients come with advanced stages, therefore these conditions could lead to decrease their quality of life. Aim of this study was to describe the profile of head and neck cancer patients at the Otorhinolaringology-Head and Neck Surgery Department, Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung.Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional method was used from medical records of head neck cancer patients at Department of Otorhinolaringology-Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung from 2008 to 2012 that used the total sampling method.Results: There were 665 patients included in this study, which men who participated were 388 and women were 277. Most of them were elementary educated (44.96%), housewives (32.03%), and those aged 46–55 years old (28.33%). There were nasopharyngeal (38.20%), sinonasal (17.29%), larnyx (13.08%), oropharnyx (6.32%), thyroid gland (6.17%), oral cavity (3.91%), hypopharynx (2.41%), and parotid gland (2.26%) cancer. The major histopathological findings were undifferentiated carcinoma (45.41%) and squamous cell carcinoma (22.26%), those were presented with stage I (7.4%), II (13.5%), III (24.4%), and IV (54.7%).Conclusions: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma was the most predominant cases which majority were presented in advanced stage and major histopathology features was undifferentiated carcinoma, while demografic characteristic mostly were in middle aged and older, men with low education background.     Pengaruh Latihan Fisik Intensitas Ringan Dan Sedang Terhadap Perubahan Kadar Hormon Beta–Endorphin Mencit (Mus Musculus L.) Hamil

    Wanita hamil sangat dianjurkan untuk tetap melakukan kegiatan sehari-hari secara rutin, termasuk olahraga.  Olahraga atau latihan fisik dapat menghasilkan hormon endorphin. Beta-endorphin merupakan salah satu dari kelompok alami opiat yang salah satu manfaatnya dapat mengurangi rasa nyeri dan mengendalikan perasaan frustasi /stress.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh latihan fisik intensitas ringan dan sedang terhadap perubahan kadar hormon beta- endorphin mencit (Mus musculus L.) hamil. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental. Pelaksanaan penelitian dengan pemeriksaan di Laboratorium Terpadu Biologi Molekuler Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sriwijaya dengan total 30 sampel. Terdiri dari 2 kelompok perlakuan dan 1 kelompok kontrol. Dari uji ANOVA Nilai Sig. (Signifikasi) kelompok sebesar 0,117 (p value  ? 0,05 ini membuktikan bahwa  tidak ada pengaruh pada latihan fisik intensitas ringan dan juga sedang terhadap perubahan kadar hormon beta–endorphin mencit hamil. Kesimpulan dari uji Post Hoc pada kelompok perlakuan latihan fisik intensitas ringan dan sedang tidak terdapat perbedaan / pengaruh yang bermakna terhadap kadar beta–endorphin 0,630 (p value > 0,05). Disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh latihan fisik intensitas ringan dan latihan fisik intensitas sedang terhadap perubahan kadar hormon beta–endorphin pada mencit (Mus musculus L.) hamil

    PENINGKATAN KADAR HEMOGLOBIN TERGLIKASI (HbA1c) PADA REMAJA OBESITAS

    Obesitas pada anak dan remaja menjadi perhatian serius karena prevalensi yang semakin meningkat setiap tahunnya di seluruh dunia. Obesitas pada anak dan remaja berhubungan dengan peningkatan risiko terjadinya gangguan toleransi glukosa, dislipidemia dan diabetes. Hemoglobin terglikasi (HbA1c) telah direkomendasikan menjadi alat diagnostik untuk mengidentifikasi diabetes. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan rerata kadar HbA1c pada remaja dengan obesitas dan remaja non obesitas.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik observasional dengan pendekatan potong lintang. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Palembang dan Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sriwijaya dan didapatkan 50 subjek yang terdiri dari kelompok remaja dengan obesitas dan kelompok remaja non obesitas. Pada subjek penelitian dilakukan pemeriksaan status gizi dengan cara mengukur indeks massa tubuh menurut umur dan jenis kelamin. Pemeriksaan kadar HbA1c dilakukan dengan menggunakan NycocardReader.Hasil penelitian dengan uji alternatif Mann Whitney menunjukkan nilai p sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05) dengan rerata kadar HbA1c pada remaja obes sebesar 6,1% dan rerata kadar HbA1c pada remaja non-obes sebesar 4,7%. Kesimpulannya, kadar HbA1c pada remaja usia 15-19 tahun yang obes lebih tinggi daripada non-obes

    DIFFERENCES OF SHORT-TERM CONSUMPTION OF SEMENDO ROBUSTA AND ARABICA COFFEE TOWARDS SWEET TASTE SENSITIVITY

    The most consumed and cultivated coffee in Indonesia is robusta and arabica coffee. Robusta and arabica coffee have different characteristics such as morphology, contents, and taste. Coffee consumption could cause alteration in taste sensitivity, especially sweet taste. Those could affect daily sugar consumption. The present study aimed to determine the differences of short-term consumption of semendo robusta and arabica coffee towards sweet taste sensitivity. This study used experimental study with a cross-over design approach that involved 21 students from the Faculty of Medicine Sriwijaya University. Semendo robusta and arabica coffee are used in this study. Sweet taste sensitivity was tested using the whole mouth test method by rinsed with sucrose solution at a concentration of 0,16, 0,32, 0,64, and 1,28 mol/l, which was given from the lowest concentration. Sweet taste sensitivity scores were rated at baseline and after the consumption of semendo robusta and arabica coffee which took place on different days. The lowest sucrose concentration that was correctly interpreted by the subject was noted as a taste sensitivity score. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The chi-square test showed that the decrease in sweet taste sensitivity was more frequently happening after semendo arabica coffee consumption than semendo robusta coffee consumption (p<0,05). Short-term consumption of semendo arabica coffee has significantly increased the risk of sweet taste sensitivity reduction 4 times greater than semendo robusta coffee.     Efek Latihan Fisik Intensitas Sedang Terhadap Kadar Albumin Urin Mahasiswa Akademi Keperawatan Kesdam II Sriwijaya Palembang

    Protein dalam urin biasanya menandakan penyakit ginjal atau nefritis, tetapi sebenarnya proteinuriatidak selalu menunjukkanpenyakit ginjal.Pengeluaran protein dalam urin yang mirip dengan yang terjadi pada  nefritis dapat timbul setelah olahraga, tetapi keadaan ini tidak berbahaya, bersifat sementara dan reversibel.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek latihan fisik intensitas sedang terhadap kadar albumin urin mahasiswa Akademi Keperawatan Kesdam II Sriwijaya Palembang.Penelitian Quasi Experimental dengan rancangan one group pre-post test design di Kampus Akademi Keperawatan Kesdam II Sriwijaya Palembang yang berlangsung dari tanggal 29 April 2013 sampai dengan 20 Mei 2013. 23 orang sampel terpilih menyelesaikan latihan fisik intensitas sedang; jogging menempuh jarak 1800 meter dalam 20 menit 3 kali seminggu. Semua sampel dilakukanpengukuran albumin urin sebelum dan sesudah latihan fisik intensitas sedang.Data dideskripsikan dalam bentuk tabel dan diolah dengan menggunakan  uji t-brpasangan pada  SPSS 17.Hasil penelitan menunjukkan bahwa rerata umur sampel  18,61 ± 0,941 tahun, dengan Indeks Masa Tubuh (IMT) 20,90 ± 2,323. Kadar albumin urin sebelum latihan fisik intensitas sedang 4,57 ± 2,041 µg/mg kreatinin, meningkat menjadi 23,22 ± 13,111 µg/mg kreatinin setelahnya. Ada perbedaan yang bermakna kadar albumin urin sebelum dan setelah latilah intensitas fisik sedang selama 3 minggu (p = 0,000).Ada efek latihan fisik intensitas sedang terhadap kadar albumin urin, sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang efek intensitas latihan fisik (seperti; intensitas ringan, sedang dan berat) terhadap kadar albumin urin atau komponen protein urin lainnya

    Weather Data Handlings for Tornado Recognition Using mHGN

    International audienceThe usage of the mHGN as a pattern recognizer cannot necessarily be used to recognize tornados. Two important issues that need to be solved first are related to data handlings of not-accurately recorded data, and to those of complex weather data. The not-so-appropriate data handlings will produce high false positive and true negative rate of the recognition results. Yet, the latest development of those data handlings has been carried out, and has shown positive and promising results. Such a new approach of data handlings can, therefore, be used to improve the quality and the accuracy of forecasting a tornado. The results taken from a simulated circumstances of a multidimensional pattern recognition have shown, that the tornado can be recognized around 9 h earlier with 90% of accuracy. However, several improvements related to the data representation within the mHGN architecture need to be implemented. The deployment of mHGN in several risky areas of tornados can then be expected as an alternative way of reducing damages, losses, and costs
